I sampled this book on my kindle. Let me just say I was hooked! I immediately bought the book. I am reading it right now. I already knew Joe Kennedy was a real piece of work. It’s no surprise the sons would treat women so poorly. I completely agree the Kennedy family has been put on this pedestal they still sit on today. I don’t think this book is a hit piece. It’s an unmasking of the Kennedy men. This is real page turner. I’m really enjoying this book.

I believe everything she says because none of this is brand new information. In fact, many books have been written about the family. So the information is out there and has been for years. I guess since I was alive during his presidency, i grew up as more information came out. IMO, this author has put a new spin on it for the young people who never even heard of the Kennedy Family.
The author's research echoes Seymour Hersche's.
None of this is new. There was another book years ago that detailed all of this and more. All of this is well known to those who know the History of the Kennedys. This woman’s timing makes her an obvious operative, and it will work. RFK’s campaign is effectively over.
My mother’s side of our family idolised the Kennedy. Irish catholics. I became a Democrat for Bobby Kennedy. I would love to read this book.

I read a 2019 book about the current generation during the pandemic. It was pretty good.
Contrary to some who want to hide this, the Kennedy's have a dark side so this is nothing new if you grew up in that era. This is old news.
Actually I grew up then and there is a great deal of new verified news here. It is the BOOK not this Enquirer-style interview. Megyn Kelley did the best long interview with her.

I’ve always admired Jackie Onassis because I’ve seen families that only contained one adult. And, I’ve always respected those people. Plus, she had a lot of powerful men trying to bed her down. If only once. To have a hold over her. I have no proof of this. But, I know a little about human nature. And, Jackie held the power. They were afraid of that power.

Some of these Ladies who got involved with the Kennedys were not exactly innocent either. They knew those men were Married and went there anyway. Were these Ladies tricked if so that is different but they likely knew what they were getting into? Unless they were innocent little flowers which I doubt. Any Woman with half a brain would have stayed clear of the Kennedy men. Powerful men can be often unsavoury. There are Women and Men who have had genuine abuse perpetrated against them and do not speak out as it us often better to heal in silence.

I heard about the Kennedy men’s treatment of women and I heard about Jackie Kennedy and her having electroshock treatment but there was no solid evidence for this, so until then I’m not so sure. Yes, appalling behaviour by the males of the family. There is more to the Marilyn Monroe story and her so called suicide. It was suggested there was a mafia involvement in her death.Anthony Summers write an interesting book on her death in 1985, I believe. I look forward to reading this book.

I'm on board about RFK, Jr. though. I visited Mary Richardson's grave, twice. Once when she was buried next to the Shrivers, and then again after she was moved to under the dying oak tree. RIP Mary.
I have so far, only read the sections on Carolyn. I have been following her life from the 90's and have read just about every story ever written about her, I have viewed every photo. She was only a few months older than me, I identified with her on many levels. One thing to note: NONE of her friends prior to her relationship with John; her real friends, colleagues, have EVER spoken about her. Narciso Rodriquez will not speak of her to anyone. Those who have spoken of her are all from John's camp. Mostly (creepy) men, and a few close female "relatives" if you will such as Carol Radziwell and Rose Marie Terenzio, along with Christina Haag, his former girlfriend. Each share the life they had while knowing the couple. Carol and Rose Marie's stories capturing the last few years with Christina recollecting a bit further back. All of these women profited off their stories, telling THEIR version of THEIR involvement with the couple. I would imagine, like with the other newly released book by Elizabeth Beller, that all these previously written books would provide plenty of quotes and anecdotes to include in this most recent smear by Maureen. However, what I found was "friends said", "those closest to them", "many people", she quotes Ed Klein of all writers and Billy Noonan, with the dirt and ugliness as though fact, taking every opportunity to type the words "drug addict". She then goes on to speculate John was on a murder/suicide mission during his last flight. I found her writing to be bitter and rather sour when discussing Carolyn. Take it for what it's worth but sadly, many will believe what is written as they were not a part of that history in time. Somethings written about Jackie, I might believe since I was not alive during her tenure in the White House but what Maureen writes about her is truly horrific and probably not to be believed. While this book was not the space to write a biography on Carolyn the accounts written paint her in a light that is just not fair and more than probably not true. This year marks the 25th anniversary of their passing and all the jerks are out seeking their handouts. (Rose Marie has co-penned her second book on John) Beware of what you read.

The Beller book is unreadable unless you want to read for days about every grade every teacher every classmate every neighbor. I mean she was a nice girl with a great job in Manhattan who was married to the most famous American. She was not Susan B. Anthony.

She has the documentation. This is important because it is a damning report on how the 4th estate is NOT doing its job. This affects all Americans because we need the truth no matter how difficult it is. How else are we to function as a democracy? What is needed is objective, timely, reporting across the board.
As a taxpayer, I resent the Whitehouse being used as a frat house. I resent the influence of foreign monies formulating polices. The list goes on. ONLY if the 4th estate does its job do we have the slightest chance of returning the power to the people rather than to a select few. This Maureen Callahan is a poser. None of this stuff is substantiated by facts or interviews or proof of any kind. Seems like she just read a bunch of gossip books that were written by Kennedy haters and rehashed it and put out her own version. Nothing is original, no actual objective research was done. Definitely not a real author of merit . Just used others ‘work’ - and tries to pass it off as her own.

Read the book “Sins of the Father”. It may not be still in print? But it lays bare the incredible dysfunction of the family.
For example, Rose Kennedy was lobotomized because she was attractive and escaping the compound and Joe Kennedy couldn’t have that so he had her lobotomized.
Rose was the mother of all the Kennedy. she was not lobotomized. The daughter Rosemary was intellectually challenged . Her father had the operation performed on Rosemary.
