To this day I’m fully convinced the only reason Stefan and Damon succeeded in staking Elijah was because the show needed to show the audience that he can’t die via stake to the heart. The whole fight, including Elijah’s “death”, was just a demonstration of his strength.
Yes because once you see what he and the “others” are capable of there’s no way they could have gotten the drop on him like that. He would have easily knocked their heads off.

Well, apparently they had planned to kill Elijah initially but the actor was so charasmatic and good that they decided to make him an Original and keep him around
Nah. The whole show is full of unbelievable plot armor to the point it takes you out of the story. They built up this Original family as if they were gonna be a big deal and then nerfed them to absurd levels and killed them off/dealt with them pretty easily. Finn dies almost immediately. Kol is killed by a baby vamp and her little brother. Rebekah is repeatedly humiliated and conned by Elena, as is Elijah. It's just really dumb and disappointing.

the peak of TVD to me is when the originals appear. they had me on the edge of my seat every time. and interestingly Elijah is like the "kindest" original which is crazy bc his entrance in TVD left a huge impression on me, he seemed powerful it made me wonder just how dangerous the rest of the originals were.
I agree. I think season 2 is my favorite bc of Katherine’s return and then Elijah and Klaus and even Elena’s storyline was really well written.

No. 6 is the best but seasons 1-4 are pretty good. 1 is just the beginning & introduction. 2-4 are crazy. 5 is decent. Then 6 is the best one & is peak TVD

That scene between Elena and Damon is a standout of the show and a favorite of mine. The extreme closeup of the tear falling from his piercing blue eye is so romantic in both the modern and classical sense. To me, Damon usually flips between the anti-hero and dark hero archetypes but as he starts to dip his toe into Byronic (romantic) hero waters more and more... be still my beating heart.
That's so nicely written. It's my most favourite scene. One of my most favourite lines being "and it is because I love you, that i cannot be selfish with you" it truly gave so much dimension to my understanding of love. As someone who loves idealism in everything, falling in love with this conplex character when I was likee so much younger made me realise 'love' can truly be fucked up sometimes. But as long as it makes you happy, run with it 😊

I think the plots and twists in TVD are slightly better than The Originals, but the themes and character writing in The Originals are vastly superior to TVD

when Jeremy sees Vicki & Anna in the finale are my favorite scenes in this season, the rest is just okay. But season 3 is way better when we meet Rebehka & we explore the rest of the originals’ lore especially when Kol shows up because he’s so hot. He’s definitely my favorite original but I also like Bekks & Elijah. Idk why people were saying season 2 was the best when not that much happens in this season. We get Katherine for a second & then she gets handled & shows up later. I found the finale too tacky cause I didn’t really care about the moon curse/hybrid stuff. Felt nothing when Jenna, Mason, Jules or Rose dies cause none of em were as likable as Anna in the previous season, all of them were just sorta there & didn’t contribute too much to the story or season. By the finale I was tired of the stupid moon stone & false moon & night curse which is really the hybrid curse, it just dragged too long. Season 3 is way better & has so many more iconic scenes. 4 is also pretty good even though Silas kinda sucks as a villain. 5 is a little forgettable. 6 is amazing, action packed & no episode is a skip because so much happens. Season 7 & 8 I could go without. The only redeemable part about 8 was Matt’s evil family & obviously Kai.

Damon elena last scene was the most talked about scene when it aired. One of the best scenes of the show. Also the background song when damon said "i don't deserve you" Is "i was wrong"

The first Original is here. Elijah is awesome, and I love how he's introduced. He's a badass, and they make that known immediately. Klaus is my favorite though so I'm patiently waiting for him.
the confession scene in this episode is one of my favorite scenes between damon and elena. Damon crying after he told her he loved before taking the memory away broke my heart. 😭

That scene between Damon and Elena at the end is honestly one of my favorites of the entire show. It really shows not only how much he cares for Elena but more importantly how much he actually loves his brother. It's cute yet heartbreaking at the same time.

i watched tvd and the originals chronologically and i would definitely recommend you guys to consider doing so although it might be a little complicated. some future episodes have crossover scenes so it's really cool to see it in order.
