As someone who visits Piggly Wiggly often for my grocery shopping needs I must sadly say there are no costumed pig creatures telling people to eat raw meat there.
The moment I read that, the guy sung that. And it was 10x better than what I thought it would be. But to add to this boring comment, I was reminded of buck telling that story of how he woke up one morning next to a pineapple.
The weirdest part about the deep freeze dude is that he's clearly supposed to be a penguin; why didn't they give him an actual mascot costume as well? Did they cheap out at the last second, or something similar? They just put a beak over his nose and called it a day, and it looks awkward.
I swear the beak is weird, looks like "nose holes" on the bottom of that beak thing. Was that for the human or was that just put on upside down? If its meant for the actor, its not very discreat
I mean I think they were trying to combine the penguin costume with the Elvis costume. My sister dug this VHS up from our stash a couple years ago and speculated that that actor's half-decent Elvis impression was the only reason they hired him
I just want a variety of content from Chad. His classic stuff one day, but toytronic the next, chef the next week, and a cursed commercials here or there.

This reminds me of how dairy (or at least milk) can be replaced with other foods. things like milk companies and other dairy conglomerates push it cause it makes then money with false claims like that it "makes your bones strong", or it "makes you grow taller".
When I was in middle school they made us watch a VHS called "Mysteries of the Food Pyramid", featuring a "cool" character named the "Food Pyramid Dude" that no kid would ever think was cool. It was as dated in 2005 as it was way out of our age range. I hope someday someone makes a video on it, it's comedy gold.

Not only is there a chain called Piggly Wiggly, I saw a knockoff store called "hoggly woggly." I just don't understand how one reaches a place in life that they think "Piggly Wiggly" is a good name for.... anything, let alone a place where people get food.
The town I grew up with used to have a Piggly wiggly but it was closed. The logo was on the brick wall and I've always wondered about it. My uncle has a framed bag. But I think the closest one we have is in the city.
I actually saw this as a kid! My cousin had the VHS and me and my brother watched this and I always wanted to see this featured on Chadtronic! Absolutely awesome.

Funny thing, apparently frozen food has more nutrients than buying fresh food from the grocery store, the freezing keeps the nutrients inside. Unless you get ur food straight from the garden, then fresh is probably better
Piggly Wiggly is/was a great grocery store if you went to stock up on whatever they had on sale for the week, whether it was pork butt, turkey, and anything inbetween. My dad used to get loads of bacon and pork chops for a good price. Unfortunately, nowadays the location are a little too spread out to merit driving all the way to one simply for one or two types of food. I had no idea that they tried to jump on the Barney train! 😆
Same for Winn-Dixie, and Bi-Lo stores back in the day, and Food Lion is barely hanging on in my area of SC with KJ's Market(IGA)having taken over a lot of old Food Lion, and Bi-Lo stores.

Fresh isn't healthier than frozen, actually some veggies start to lose their nutrition the second they are picked and flash freezing stops that. Also almost all fish has been frozen even if you buy fresh most of it has been frozen then thawed out in controlled way to still seem fresh.Frozen is not unhealthy and can be the better choice like fries are fluffier inside if frozen before cooking .

Even the labeled "healthy" frozen meals are terrible for that, as they can only get away with the "healthy" label because they're not _as bad_ as their competition, so they can legally claim to be a "healthier" option.

I immediately thought this was the "Piggly-wiggly" mascot as soon as I saw this. Sadly a lot of them are getting shut down due to competition against other popular grocery chains, you'll only ever find them still open in more rural towns. But they had their prime sometime ago before any of us 90's kids can remember. I even painted Christmas themes on the windows for one store. I think it's stinking cute and hilarious that the grocery chain made this video. Thanks for sharing with us Chad! Loved this. My hometown is Memphis, Tennessee and one of my ancestors named Clarence Saunders started Piggly Wiggly. He was building a giant mansion called The Pink Palace, which is something right out of the Great Gatsby, when the Great Depression hit. The City of Memphis eventually seized the unfinished palace and turned it into the city’s museum. There is a full sized replica of the first Piggly Wiggly within the museum.

Piggly Wiggly is a small-ish grocery store chain that I know at least exists in Wisconsin (since I lived there a while). It's basically like a Safeway/Kroger/Albertsons/Shaws/Raley's/whatever. It was pretty okay but more expensive than a place called Woodman's for basically the same stuff. We also were graced with Menards which has great commercials with a guy really excited about light bulbs and nails or whatever's on sale and has a catchy jingle that still lurks in my mind and reminds me I can "save big money at Menards" despite having none in the state I'm in. Was that Menards tangent necessary? Nope but tha's how my brain works, bae-bee!

I do remember a Piggly Wiggly existing in Honey Grove, TX where my great aunts lived.
Piggly Wiggly is a small-ish grocery store chain that I know at least exists in Wisconsin (since I lived there a while). It's basically like a Safeway/Kroger/Albertsons/Shaws/Raley's/whatever. It was pretty okay but more expensive than a place called Woodman's for basically the same stuff. We also were graced with Menards which has great commercials with a guy really excited about light bulbs and nails or whatever's on sale and has a catchy jingle that still lurks in my mind and reminds me I can "save big money at Menards" despite having none in the state I'm in.
Was that Menards tangent necessary? Nope but tha's how my brain works, bae-bee!

piggly wigglys are actually awesome grocery stores imo. Have a lot of good options and for fair prices. I think they're primarily in the south
