- Les Claypool on Covering Tool and Pink Floyd & Upcoming Albums with Delirium and Billy Strings
Les Claypool catches up with Kyle Meredith to talk about bringing back Colonel Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade for a summer tour, in which they’ll be playing Pink Floyd’s Animals in full, as well as talking about the new lineup that includes Sean Ono Lennon as part of the band. The Primus frontman goes on to tell us why he’s playing Animals in full for the first time in 20 years, the possibility of covering a Tool album, and recently fronting a band made up of Tool members for a charity event. Claypool also discusses last year’s Primus EP, maybe doing another Frog Brigade LP, finishing up the next Claypool Lennon Delirium album, and working more with Billy Strings.

See you there. It's gonna be a banger! And Budos opening 🤌
@@temporarytree1642 If it is general admission be first in li e, so you can stand right in front if Les to study his hands.
Sweet! Can't wait for a new CLD album!
Saw them in Philly!! Absolutely loved it!!
Holy moly, great interview! You really got Les to give up the details... Thanks man!
We’ve got a good interview history together, and I’d like to think I’ve built up a lot of trust with him. Glad you enjoyed!
I’ve got my frog brigade tickets!
I got chills when Les covered Aenima
Great interview. Les Cliche Pool 😂😂😂
Great interview. Good job can’t wait for future guests
cant wait for LES!!!!!
And less than a year later we got a new Primus song and tour with Maynard.
Crazy...
Thanks so much! I caught the Primus/Rush tour in Minneapolis last year and will be there for Frog Brigade coming up! Last year was definitely one of my favorite Primus shows, finally getting to see some Punchbowl and Pork Soda songs that hadn't been played in a long time . . . That Hamburger Train really made my night! And Les on stage with Battles was an unexpected wish fulfillment of mine from way back in '06/'07.
I am Soooo Frogcited 💚 Claypool and BMFS ❣️🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
That's gonna break the earth's rotation
Thankyou so much for your excellent interview, beautiful soul you are.
Thanks for watching!
Hitting the Columbus show. So excited.
Woooot! See ya in June state theater!
Blessed to be at gathering of the vibes in 2009 with the rat Brigade. Because it was so epic we did every vibes until it ended. Also saw les hundreds of times. Can't wait for frog brigade .
So damn pumped for more Delirium.
💯 those first two albums are so damn good
Dude missed a good couple of chances to make the link to Pink Floyd when Les mentioned Harry a couple of times.
The show in LA was absolutely bonkers!!! What a lineup! What a setlist!
Great interview with some hot breaking news. Wish there was some discussion on the Primus documentary that is apparently in the works.
I think we talked about that some on last year’s interview. Of course, it was in its infancy then. But it’ll give us another great reason to catch up again soon.
I’d love to hear Les talk about Bernie Worrell. He and P-Funk are the peak for me. Thanks to Les for giving new generations of kids the music of Bernie. Les Claypool’s Bernie Bucket of Brains was incredible.
Any chance Les would cover an album or do a P-Funk set?
New sub from The Ville here local. Great interview look forward to that Iroquois show and also checking out your channel for past and future content.
Great to hear! Yeah, Les has been on the show a handful of times, so there’s lots more to dig into if you’re a fan. Looking forward to Iroquois!
I got to see Les twice last year. First Oysterhead, then six days later, Primus. Really enjoyed both shows, and they were very different. Don't know that I'm going to catch the Frog Brigade show this year, but I'D love to see Les play with as many different bands as possible.
Les covers Safety Dance, yes please!
God I missed the recent Primus years because I had small kids! I hope Les and Primus have as many “Last Tour Ever”s as fucking Fleetwood Mac, so there’s no chance I miss their last tour 💗💗🤟🏼💗💗
My question is: will they be playing songs from Purple Onion, or from Live Frogs?
I would love to hear Primus take on Hemispheres 😎
Dude you're so cool it's crazy
I bought Tales from the Punchbowl when I was 13. Primus was always that weird band I could never grow out of.
Conspiranoia musically felt like a continuation of goblims. Hats Off!
They supposedly tried to briefly write a goblin sequel. A white goblin album. Like the Seven goblins books, cause that has a sequel about the white goblin.
More Duo de Twang please!
Wait....Les is in Delerium, or featuring?
Les is a human god
Les is and always been a huge influence on me and many others musically and as a person, have you ever heard anything negative about this man? No, because he is an example of who a musician should be to me, honest, humble, open to having fun and being an appreciative and giving man even with all the fame, I'm so glad to hear about all the new ideas and projects, I love and support everything he does, I've been to several shows and have always had a great time, also Primus fans are awesome, everyone is stoked to be there. Thank you Uncle Les for being a strange part of my life.
Paint my fence its awesome
Still gotta paint the trim.
If Les keeps practicing, someday he'll be a good bassist.
bring back oysterhead!!!!!!
Hey let your muscles breathe give us a call when you're in Chicago
