Hearing Les talk about some of his fondest memories of his childhood and they were literally my fondest memories as well. I grew up in the same town as Les, fishing in the same bay with my dad, uncles and grandfather. Was 12 or 13 when I discovered Primus and never in a million years did I think 30 years later I'd be watching a fishing documentary staring Les.

I mean, theres people who just got to know primus but consider themselves fans.. also people sing about all kinds of stuff, doesnt mean they actually have any real life involvement in it
Back in the mid 90s, a friend of mine gave me the Pork Soda CD after he bought it because of the name, but didn't like the music. I however did enjoy it. Very much. Been a fan of this weirdos music ever since.
This is crazy.. Im a huge fan of everything claypool. I just picked up flyfishing a few weeks ago and I love it.. it's a good way to get ur head clear for sure. I always sing john the fisherman while I'm fishin. Cool to know uncle les is out there slammin em.
I don’t particularly care for fishing, but since it has Les Claypool in it, I will watch it gladly! It’s actually a fascinating video and I’m glad I stopped here❤❤
I haven't been that part of Idaho fir over 35 years when I was just a little kid. Forgot how much it looks like parts of OR where I am from. I love watching shit like this with musicians. I dont want to watch interviews about the new album or what not. I want to know what type of stuff these guys are into. I knew Les loved to fish. But fly fishing surprised me. Way cool.
I love that in the US you can just load up a 4x4 and boat, drive off road and fish where you want. In the UK you wouldn't be allowed to leave the road, the river would have signs saying no boating, no fishing and no swimming. If you did find somewhere you would need around licence and permit to fish which would need to be purchase in advance from a store 10 miles away.
Holy Mackerel! Fish On! Claypool makes Long John proud! Halleluyah! Fish on! May Les & all be blessed with fat nets of many blessings! Fish on Brethren!
My dear-ol-Dad always had a boat. We fished in the Gulf for mackerel bonita, hardtail, mahi mahi.. all kinds even landed a barracuda once. ling cod, cats, skates. sharks.. never knew what ya hooked.
This is crazy, always loved Primus, the Flying Frog Brigade, and all of Les Claypool's offshoots. I have been fly fishing for a decade now and never knew Les Claypool did too...This is awesome.
I get it now. Been fishing nearly every day (local ponds after work with occasional bigger excursions) for the past few years and it really keeps me sane.

Very cool. We listen to alot of Primus in the boat. Been fishing and Listening to Primus for along time. Thanks Les for all the great music and tight lines.

I play bass and love to fish especially fly fish I always go and fish the morning before a show I totally know where he is coming from about it taking you away for a little bit

Got a Skipjack25 "Bounty Hunter" and been fishing out of the Gate for salmon and tuna since early 90's. Maybe we have seen you out there. Dream boat is a Grady White Marlin.,
I’ve only recently became acquainted with Primus. I read articles in guitar magazines about Les Claypool years ago. Now, I find out he’s an avid fisherman in addition to being a whacked slapper! Fan forever! PS: Ein Klein Nachtmusik is my favorite Mozart piece.
The comment about your dead father's vest hit home for me. I have my dad's fishing vest he drowned in 2 years ago. Love your music. Les. I seen you a couple of years ago in Cincinnati.
Les' fishing buddy: Les has gotten hot here the last 15 minutes. (7:20) Les: It's cause I've been licking my bait. That's the key to it ALL... My mind: Hot Dang! I bet he licks his bass strings too!
This was awesome to watch. Les is right, fly fishing is the only thing that turns it all off. Singular focus when on the water. It’s an incredible experience.
I noticed he doesn’t want to eat the fish, but he does want it to be late for something. “Where were you?” “I got caught!” “Liar, let me see the inside of your lip!” I’d love to take him fishing roughly 350 miles west for some big fish in the Colombia Gorge for Salmon and Steelhead.
