    Great lesson. Transposition to drums can be done as well and sounds great (snare and kick) ! Back in the early 80ies, Stew Copeland took from reggae and from Egyptian traditional music to spice up rock !

    If you listen close enough, lots of old school house music used this beat! Im a DJ and almost got this 100% after watching it first and then i said to myself, I've heard this beat before!

      This s a common rhythm found all over the world although it my have different names. Malfuf is Arabic for "wrapped" meaning the rhythm wraps around in 2/4 time signature. It is found in Egyptian and Arabic music

    Hi. Since I've practising the darbuka, I've been using the split finger technique when playing malfuf, but find this style suits me a lot better. Good vid my friend....thanks!
