What if re-installing everything doesn’t work? I just got a new HP notebook and it won’t find device even though the game is running on my monitor. Works on my old one but usb ports are loose so it hard to capture without it coming out that’s why I got a new one…someone please before I throw it out the window lol

Though realized I needed it for my Switch I found it collecting dust in my spare cord box, and had this issue with it. I was about to throw it out assuming its just old until I found this video. Bro you just saved my life. It simply was shown in the other device area you talked about as "multimedia unkown" or something like that. I then clicked on properties and noticed that it said drivers were not installed. went to the elgato website then downloaded the drivers and boom. THANK YOU
I spent hours trying to fix my Capture Card on OBS. Thank you so much for your video! I downloaded the driver for my HD60 along with Game Capture HD and Sound Capture. It finally worked!!!
I had to go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Optional Updates > Driver Updates > Elgato - Media, and install that from there. After that, it all worked! :3

Thank you this worked, there is so many different drivers and software suites you can easily download the incorrect version, I have the legacy HD60 and downloaded the modern drivers.

I didn't need to uninstall or reset my PC.
I went straight on to the Elgato website and downloaded that extra hardware - downloaded and installed and it worked.
This fix still works for the HD60X in 2024 👍 Uninstalling it from the device manager was the step I was missing.
