Over the years I have seen the CP and CN Geo trains but recently under my nose, less then a block away, I missed the CSX Geo train which was on NBSR. Great video Nancy.
Hi Nancy! I've been following for quite some time but I don't think I've commented before. It's interesting how they run the geometry car there with the Pullman looking car and nothing else. When I started railfanning several years ago, I got excited when someone mentioned a train was going to come through with the geometry car. When it came through, it turned out I had seen one several times before and just didn't know what I was seeing! The Old Western & Atlantic line that runs through Cartersville, Georgia is where I most often film, and a geometry car comes through here frequently. It's right behind the power, but there isn't a track evaluation car with it. The rest of the train is the freight consist. That is sure some pretty countryside up there. I really enjoy seeing it in addition to the trains in your videos. I would like to come and visit it sometime. It wouldn't matter if there were any entertainment options or not. It would be so nice to just enjoy the outdoors, see the beauty there, and be able to take deep breaths of that air! Maybe someday! I enjoyed this video and have enjoyed your others! Looking forward to next time. See you trackside! 🚂🛤👍
The thought of two trains meeting out here almost seems impossible. Maybe it was a freight meeting the Copper Country Limited. More likely than not it could have been a snowplow extra rescuing a stuck freight train. Anyways that geometry train almost looks overwhelming for the branch you think it would rate just a truck. Also the car going with it remind me of the power generator cars CN uses to power Intermodal reefers are the box cars that add air pressure during very cold conditions and on longer trains. Considering the direction of the Sun the footage by the memorial actually turned out quite well. As always must say hello to the pink CC hopper
Thats the bummer-yes they were waiting in Summit and that would have been an awesome video to catch them passing in Summit. It would have been a first for me. I dont know the last time two different trains passed there!
Hi Nanc. Thank you for checking in. I've been preoccupied w/ my dog needing immediate/ emergency surgery. My baby girl got ketoacidosis from an infection. I really messed up and didn't have her spayed when she was younger and she just paid the price for my neglect. It's been almost 3 weeks from the onset and I believe she's out of the woods now. But 2 more doses of antibiotics and 2 week follow up check & blood sugar "curve" on Thursday will tell the tale. So nice to see Da UP! Eh. Looks beautiful to me. ben/ bad troll living under the bridge.
Great catch of the Canadian National Geometry train at the Bishop Baraga Shrine near L'Anse, Michigan and it passed through Herman, Michigan, Nancy! You also caught the inbound L'Anse Local at Herman, Michigan. That was a good-sized train heading to L'Anse. (Posted 3 September 2024 at 1629 CDT.)
Good train videos ! YOU do awesome videos ! IT'S nice to hear a ladies voice ! This is James Wedde in Red Wing Minnesota ! I'm a big rail fan ! WAS this rail line once the SOO LINE ? DID WISCONSIN CENTRAL HAVE THIS TRACK BEFORE CANADIAN NATIONAL ? HOW FAR ARE YOU FROM RED WING MINNESOTA ? THE MILWAUKEE ROAD WAS ONCE THE RAILROAD IN RED WING MINNESOTA !

Now that's what a trains horn should sound like also like them running long hood forward
How long was it between trains? Did they meet in Nestoria?
