- In May 1945, as the end of World War II drew near, a significant part of the German Wehrmacht surrendered to Soviet and Czechoslovak forces near the city of Prague. This event is considered a symbol of the end of Nazi rule in Europe and the liberation of Czechoslovakia.
The surrender took place after the Battle of Prague. The battle consisted of a series of clashes between Soviet and Czechoslovak forces against the German invaders. The battle ended with the German surrender on May 9, 1945.
The German surrender was a great relief for the civilian population in Prague. They had been persecuted by the Nazi regime throughout the war. The surrender meant that the city and its inhabitants were finally free.
The surrender of the German Wehrmacht in Prague was an important turning point in the end of World War II. It represented the defeat of the Nazi regime and the return of peace in Europe.

It is better to say that for all people in Eastern Europe begins the rule of Soviets who were at least equal crude. Maybe 10 times worse...because was for almost 50 years.
Nobody in worlds' history was as crude as the Nazis.

Todays Prague "the ungrateful, beholden lot".

Why the sad music??? It should be happy music! The war is over !
For many people it wasn't.
Untergang für die deutsche...
My great-grandparents were expelled from their homeland of Silesia. My grandfather almost died of starvation in American captivity. Should I celebrate this?
Suggestion for anyone putting up this kind of film material: instead of adding irrelevant and tedious music, please try and say exactly where and when it was filmed, and so what we’re looking at. For example: it’s clear at one point that some of the people surrendering to the Americans were Russians, or possibly Serbians. From the Vlasov army? Does anyone know?
