Brilliant piece of English history. Would be great to see our own culture and style of grappling/wrestling make a comeback. The rise of bjj has shown there’s a demand for it in the U.K.
This was taken from a movie called: Catch the hold not taken. The full movie is on UA-cam and is more like a documentary than it is a movie btw. This Clip can be found at 12:16 (in the video) and has more!!

Too bad catch wrestling went into the realm of scripted entertainment (WWE, etc), if it established itself as a legitimate martial art then it would probably be more popular than BJJ. Glad to see it eventually making a comeback over these recent years though.

It's been so long since I wrestled proper, that i forget just how wonderful shoes were for shooting; probably not against footlockers, though. I also remember Savate/STX now.
Sonny, you should create your own military and teach them Savate & Catch, but with wrestling boots.
