I personally got into Yakuza series with Yakuza 4 (All because PSN+ was giving it out for "Free"). I feel in love with the series and have never regretted buying the rest of the games. Though for a while. I thought I got into the series with Yakuza 3...until I played 3...wow...rough game. Doesn't help that Yakuza 1 and 2 had literal remakes, that improved the gameplay. Still, Y3 was rough and one that really had bad pacing issues with the story. I think it was Yakuza 1 had a substory that played off of Y3 with an in universe samurai movie series that too had a bad #3 entry. Though 4 brought things back up to standards and rest is kind of history, lol.

This cover is amazing. Different enough to be a new, interesting flavour, but still very true to the original. Found it on iTunes while looking for the game version. I was skeptical about the higher vocal register at first, but everything from the feel to the engrish pronunciation was perfect start to finish and totally blew me away. You even the rougher vocal parts in there to convey Kiryu’s gritty singing. Impeccable.
