Just a suggestion. I have colored many of your quilts Meg. I do iron freezer paper on the back of the fabric after I transfer the design before I color. It helps to stabilize the fabric, it's easier to color.
Thanks for the tips I also have used a very fine grit sandpaper under the fabric to hold it still Use light touch coloring also when heat setting the color after I’ve pressed the front. I lay clean paper towel down and flip fabric right side down. I press the back side. It seems to set the colors better.
My very first exposure to this coloring technique was on a visit to your studio. I loved it and have made several of your quilts since...then checking utube I found your demonstration and was so happy to watch. We can learn even more by watching just how you do it. Thanks for being there to help us!
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed watching you on quilt roadies. So glad to see you again. I'm in Ohio and would never be able to attend your workshops but thru you tube I've been able to experience crabbapple hill. :)
Very pretty! Ive usedfreezer paper for years now. The reason, Im keeping the color & crayon wax off of my iron & all gets melted into my fabric for a rich color indeed! 👍😉 Thanks for yr tutorial!
Great tutorial. I enjoy stitching your designs. Matter-of-fact, I have one of your Halloween designs on my cutting table, ready to sew into a wall hanging. So glad to see you on UA-cam and looking forward to many more! Thanks for sharing.
I have a question I'm new to this type of crafting and I have been doing pictures that you use Tri-Chem paints on and would like to know if it will work with crayons or colored pencils so my kids can help and not keep wasting the paint? They are on felt fabric. Thank you for this amazing video and showing us new way to do craft.
This was fun thanks for the tutorial...I recall doing this with my kids years ago and it was fun then, too =) I think I will enjoy this. Great video, thanks.
Hi I’m very new to this process of coloring fabric? My question is do I fuse the piece of fabric before I start coloring? I’m working on the Christmas tree pattern - Deck the halls. The instructions says to use freezer paper to transfer the pattern not really understanding the instructions. Any HELP! will be greatly appreciated.
I’m surprised you ironed the fabric instead of pressing the fabric I know this was done five years ago but have you heard of a product called Retayne? That’s what you would want to use in your first or second washing without detergent to prevent the colors from bleeding
I’ve watched this several times and enjoy it very much. Now I’m going to try it for a book for my 1st Great Grandson. Thank you!
what an amazing tutorial - thank you so much for sharing your techniques and time with us x

Very nice demonstration!
Thank you for doing this detailed tutorial.
Thank you for this coloring tutorial. I do have a question, what surface do you have under the fabric? Paper tablet? A table? Thanks.
Great tutorial! Question; Can you buy the white crayon separately? Seems like I’ll need a lot more white than any other color... no?
Debbie Ballentine amazon sells them and some Art supply stores
thank you for doing these videos . . .
I would like to see a finished stitched design. I love your work. Thank You.
I wonder if white vinegar in the cold wash would set the color?
Are you using the white color crayon on the right side of the fabric design.
Do you add the colorless textile paint as well after heat setting it, then stitch?
Can you do this on a baby quilt? Does is wash well? I would assume no dryer.

Loved this video!
Love your technique thanks.

lovely
Can this be washed
Before you start, do you use white crayon on the whole project? i am doing the snow globes, and wonder if I do the inside of the globe?
Thanks you!! I love it!
Baby detergent is Dreft
Fantástico
There is no wax on freezer paper, it's a plastic coating on one side
Crafty, craft style should not be used as a negative comment nor childlike

Meg’s intention, I believe, was not that “crafty” was a bad thing. Only that it was not the look she was trying to achieve.
