I Love this stitch but have to view the video each time. I do struggle to take the thread off-I even tried to spray my needle wit silicone. I have enjoyed making many of your embroidery/guilt patterns but my favorite are Bunny Trail and The Night Before Christmas pillowcases.
Hi Meg, I’ve been embroidering since I was a very young girl. I only learned basic stitches so I am really enjoying learning how to properly execute more complicated stitches. Thank you for wonderful tutorials.
I learned to make them holding the needle in the place where I was creating the back stitch and then making the boullion stitch all at once. This sure easier! I recall that it was a 50/50 chance I would get it right the first time the other way. Thank you for clarifying this.
Excuse me but what kind of thread are you using? Is it reg like a DMC Skein of 6 strands or is it more like a larger one, (kind of looks like string or a tiny rope?) Im sorry but I dont knw what to call it. Hopefully you will understand what Im asking. Thanks for yr help.
I just love the Bullion stitch! Just wondering how you were taught to embroidery. Are you self taught, learn at school, or did your mother or grandmother teach you? Always enjoy watching you stitch. Thank you so much for sharing.

How many threads do you use typically when doing the bullion stitch? Your work is lovely!
