Just to add to this: only the first battle is annoying. Afterwards, you should be a high enough level to fuse Satan (82) and Helel (88) so you can get the Armageddon theurgy. Charge up the protagonist’s theurgy, get first strike on the Reaper, then one shot it with Armageddon. Helpful when switching out your party to increase all party member’s levels and if you need to farm the Reaper’s drop.
if u wanna 0 effort this what you can do is just press tab and let the game autoplay, and then revive every time. I just did it while laying in bed and watching movies on my phone, took like an hour but all I had to do was press space bar and tab a few times
This is my first time playing a Persona game, how are you able to grind for that long? I'm always running out of SP and have no way of getting it back to the point I'm just running past all the enemies until i get to bosses in Tartarus now.
It's nice to know that this strategy has returned from P3P. I remember after I reached Tziah in Tartarus (Block 4) I got sick of grinding and my RNG for the strong enemy floors started to vanish the more powerful I became. Whilst the Reaper didn't provide nearly as much exp. back then like he does now in P3R, it was still a good strategy back in the day and it helped me get all of my party members into their mid 70's and both me and Fuuka to level 99 within just a few hours compared to spending a whole day or two slaving away at killing weaker Shadows. One thing I'll say is that I suggest letting the Reaper hit you because that means it only gets one turn to act (provided it doesn't get a 1 More). It makes the battles go by faster and allows you more chances to deal damage. I also personally preferred to just set everything to auto battle but using your Persona's abilities will probably make the battles go by much faster and with fewer resets at the cost of some SP. If you don't care about losing your SP then by all means use your Persona's but if you're trying to save it for an upcoming boss or something then I recommend just using auto battle. Either way you're basically just going to be doing some chip damage on it until you unlock better weapons/Persona's which is why I tend to stick to using the auto battle feature. Lastly, don't bother using All Out Attacks unless the Reaper is at extremely low health. After getting a critical hit you're going to want to keep the Reaper dizzy so that you can land more attacks on it. All Out Attacks are practically useless on it until it's about to die so just focus on spamming your basic attacks and Persona abilities on it. I recommend saving the Reaper grinding for late game because this just trivializes the early and mid game, however it's possible to face the Reaper at any point you like after your first tutorial visit to Tartarus to theoretically you can take it down at level 5 if you want. The Reaper tends to spawn faster on small floors so I would just wait in one of the floors that come before a barricade.
You can do this somewhat afk. Set up your buffs/debuffs first turn and then click Start for Rush. Revive once you go down and repeat the process. I do recommend keeping an eye on the Reaper's health gage once it get low; that way you can be sure everyone in your party is alive to gain xp once the Reaper is defeated.
Money will be no longer an issue when Hunting the Reaper. He drops 1 "button" every time. You can sell it for 150,000 yen. Get the Devil Major Arcana boost for 2x drop Then, for easy max money. Then Buy the "Luck Incense II" and give it to your Persona to Crit like 99%. And Junpei too. My suggestion is Siegfried or Masakado. Armageddon is obtained from having helel and satan which would mean you are so high level you don’t need this to level up anymore. You would also be near the end of the game with barely anything to buy as the best equipment is crafted from monad door mats
Reaper farming on NG+ is an absolute joke, as long as you have access to the Armageddon theurgy, a persona with Victory Cry, and you get a Soul Fortune reading prior to exploring Tartarus. Just farm enemies until your theurgy gauge fills up, do something IRL while the Reaper takes his sweet time to show up, then select the persona with Victory Cry and hit the Reaper with an Armageddon. Lather rinse and repeat until your whole party is level 99 and you can't carry anymore money.
Well the reaper is unlocked after you rescue that girl that's trapped in Tartarus and for some reason that's when one of her friends that picked on her comes to see her cuz of some sort of voice I think she heard, anyway it's after you rescue that girl I think her name is focus something basically sometime after that is when the reaper will start appearing

I got lucky. My trophy for allowing a skill change evolved a growth 1 to growth 2 very early on, and it was pretty much a mainstay in every fusion I created so, all of my personas are receiving 50% exp every battle. Happy gaming!
my first reaper was by killing it with armaggaedon in first NG, i don't even know how i unlocked it so fastly but i just focused on farming the essentials social links and fusion for satana and helel
i brought mc yukari akihiko aigis when i killed my first reaper and they leveled up to 70++ and later i brought mc yukari junpei and mitsuru but after killing the 2nd reaper, only mc and yukari leveled up to 99, junpei and mitsuru just remained at level 35. can someone tell what I'm doing wrong?
Hmmm, they shouldn't have remained at 35 that's for sure... but you do get less exp the higher your MC level. Maybe reset and try again with just Junpei and Mitsuru?
Thanks for the feedback! I definitely could've done that but it's only 2-3mins which isn't a long time and I didn't want to bloat the video. But will consider this next time or at least add a note somewhere.
My Makoto is level 78 and my team for Nyx (Yukari, Aigis and Akihiko) are all 76. I'm in January right now and kind of wanna do this for the trophy and quest but I'm afraid Nyx will be way too easy at level 99 and that it ruins the experience.
@@realzeffyy I actually beat the game about 6 days ago. At level 78 I somehow cooked the Reaper, got my whole team to level 88 and then steamrolled Nyx. Just waiting for the best opportunity to get The Answer now.
For once reaper is actually worth farming, p5r the experience was trash, in p4g it felt like it was too much trouble to get him to appear and then open the chest, and then p3p i never got far enough to fight him lol.
I was very lazy so at around level 30 I tried this and was dealing no damage, so I made a razer keyboard macro to just press space every second to basically auto hit & revive and it took around 5 hours lol
I have a question after you killed the reaper the first time can you kill him the same night or do you got to wait until the next day to kill him again?
Some people want to experience everything in a first run but don't necessarily want the bosses to be super duper easy. It's a great way to see all party member skills and complete the compendium as well.
i think going to peaceful locks out merciless. i rewind back maybe someone else can test it but i do not want to level this way. I got the thophy but i still need to beat him again for Elizabeth
Yes, if you are playing on merciless and go back down to peaceful, you will not be able to go back to merciless. So if you're on merciless, I would just recommend grinding gold hands. Check out my other exp farm guide if you haven't already.
You went very fast on it, but the items that reaper drops sells for a lot ? I need to farm money because im poor and want to work on my compendium. Currently lvl 66 so im definitely good to farm it now, plus i have my arcana cards full with extra card
@@bettym4859 yes the item the reaper drops sells for a lot at shops. You can keep farming the reaper in a single Tartarus run and then sell all the bloody coins you get.
I came to this video because i'm tires of persona 3, its a great game but feels repetitive at some point, this did not happen to me in persona 5. I have a cuestion, when i beat the reaper, i need to reload Tartarus or he can respawn in the same run after i killed him?
Can use skill cards and once you unlock Mayoido Antiques it becomes a lot easier. You can also fuse Personas that learn specific abilities and then fuse them with other Personas into the Persona you want. I will be doing a guide on this as well!

Question: does the difficulty setting affect the amount of EXP you gain? I am playing on Hard but I’m not sure if there is a difference in what you get
From my research, there's no difference in EXP gain for each difficulty. I could be wrong tho but I've done the numbers and it's the same. Only difference is dmg dealt and received.
Just recently encountered the reaper early as my party was around level 25 and boy did it take more than an hour to defeat it after going down numerous times I was finally able to beat it and my party went from 25 to 61 and of course I was doing it on peaceful difficulty
@ichigokurosaki215 for reals man.. I even had the best weapons and the personas I had were alright and it's still a challenge even on the easiest difficulty
ages ago, but if u care slightly, just use thunder reign on an odin and cycle debuffs with aigis and akihiko, thunder reign almost always procs shock so u can cheese most turns if you get the cycling down properly
damn unfortunately im playing merciless and im pretty sure you cant lower the difficulty without getting locked out of merciless, still tho im like level 70 i think im gonna give it a shot whats the worst that could happen
i'm on normal, fought him at lvl 78 with personas up to lvl 85. died like five times before i lowered the difficulty lmao... i say give it a shot if you have some super busted personas but it might be tricky! or maybe i'm just dumb idk
On peaceful you can literally do this at Level 1, just a note though it'll make the game way too easy. Even at hard difficulty after you cross level 85 there is not much enemies can do to you and towards end game you'll unlock so many strong personas you'll be nuking everything
@@talkingzack4926 oh then peaceful reaper grind it is, just make sure you have atleast an hour open (depending on what level you're starting the farm) and your entire party should be in top form in no time
So I’ve just beaten the reaper once 3 of my party including my character are lvl 65 (yukari ran away from the fight lol) will i still have a good gaming experience
Hey man, thanks! Doing a full 100% guide would take so much time but there are some really good resources online already to help you. Feel free to comment some suggestions of anything in particular and I would be more than happy to help you out! 👍
@zeffyno8 yeah I know that it would take a lot of time to generate a strategy guide but you are super knowledgeable about the game. Something to think about. Would be interesting in knowing what are the best weapons and armor to use at the early stages of the game?
Actually persona games even on normal are hard cause the game doesn't fully tell you the buff/debuff mechanics, waaaay different than the typical RPG, heavily bottlenecked by PE which requires great resources management, etc. However a lot of people overgrind (Golden Hands fortune teller trick, peaceful Reaper) to heavily circumvent the difficulty, also people using persona fusing calculators so they optimize and get broken personas as early as possible (most likely people from P5R which have a lot of skill). Cause genuinely slaving my ass for days grinding the same weak ass shadows that barely give EXP? IMO that's highly flawed game design which leads to people cheesing the entire playthrough.
@@doomslayer8985Yeah games fun. Basically my first Persona game since I played Persona 5, but I got bored of it quick. I barely did much in it. I love this one much more in everywhere I don’t know why but the idea of grinding floors definitely doesn’t seem like my cup of tea. I’m not a fan of grinding and I’m not used to doing it in many games outside of like Roblox ones 💀
Personally, I wouldn't recommend farming until you get to the Tziah block in Tartarus. Everything before that is pretty easy and you can get by without needing to grind too much. Reaper can hit any weakness so party doesn't matter too much. You can bring whoever you want to level up fast.
@@solismax65i mean 95% of the enemies give you a measly poor amount of EXP which only bosses, Golden Hands and Reapers are worth fightning, judging by the game philosophy it was designed to REQUIRE BEING CHEESED (overgrinding, Golden Hands trick, peaceful reaper) and genuinely sucks (it is like telling you ignore nearly everything and cheese through it lol) no wonder why these games are so damn long cause 70% is grind, 30% is actual gameplay and story
It’s a little too much cheese. They should’ve locked the reaper to only the higher difficulties. He’s practically nonexistent and you’ll probably never see him unless you’re in a dark room. You can also just stand and wait but the point is he never shows up to just unfairly kill ya He has no fear factor I would be happier to have a more aggressive reaper if it removes this leveling method
If I didn’t have time for grinding I probably won’t be playing this. Or if I’m only here for story I would be in a lower difficulty. That’s not a time the grind issue that is just skipping the early mid game and going straight to the endgame. I’m probably gonna do it but for the final 10 levels
I’m calling the game boring. it does affect me I think the game is boring. So it does affect my enjoyment quite a bit. Using the reaper as a grinding method in reality merciless is locked if you switch it you’re locked out. So I could never grind the reaper without Odin Or Armageddon anyway. I don’t think anyone ever says this but it’s more something you figure out yourself.
Wanna hear something stupid? New game plus on merciless doesn’t actually save any of your items outside of costumes. It might actually be good that the Reaper is farmable. I want my platinum trophy. I am bored out of my mind but I’m still at it
i played like a dragon 8 120hours before is started persona 3 reload ,grinding in persona 5 royal was way better cause there was a sociallink to level up all passive partymembers, in 3 a lot members joining at once and for fragments i could activate once the big clock super annoying and tedious dungeon system , normally i wouldnt do it and cheese the reaper but the fragment system and always short with sp items which i bought a lot is so annoying, persona 5 is so much better with handcrafted dungeons and not just random generated tartar sauce dungeon and short bossfights....420 peace from germany
Set difficulty to Peaceful. This makes it so your main character revives every time you die letting you whittle down the Reaper and gives you a ton of exp when you beat him.

i brought mc yukari akihiko aigis when i killed my first reaper and they leveled up to 70++ and later i brought mc yukari junpei and mitsuru but after killing the 2nd reaper, only mc and yukari leveled up to 99, junpei and mitsuru just remained at level 35. can someone tell what I'm doing wrong?
Hmmm, they shouldn't have remained at 35 that's for sure... but you do get less exp the higher your MC level. Maybe reset and try again with just Junpei and Mitsuru?
Just out of curiosity, does the Persona 5 Royal strat of letting the Reaper ambush you to force him to get less turns still work here?
Test your theory and either profit or suffer...alot
Still get hit two times either way it was annoying having my team decimated.
Nah, I'm pretty sure it still gets 2 turns.
You could clock how long it takes for the reapear to come, that kind of info makes a better video.
Thanks for the feedback! I definitely could've done that but it's only 2-3mins which isn't a long time and I didn't want to bloat the video. But will consider this next time or at least add a note somewhere.
@@realzeffyyit took me 20 min
I was overwhelmed by Tartarus and went to sit down somewhere else in my house. Come back and aigis + Koromaru are dead and I’m facing the reaper 😭
oh no!! I was so scared when the reaper showed up for the first time
is the exp gain is different on peaceful difficulty?
Is increased i think
Yeah its increased
My Makoto is level 78 and my team for Nyx (Yukari, Aigis and Akihiko) are all 76. I'm in January right now and kind of wanna do this for the trophy and quest but I'm afraid Nyx will be way too easy at level 99 and that it ruins the experience.
Depending on difficulty you are playing on at lvl 99 Nyx is pretty easy tbh. I would just have a separate save.
Yea it was a bit annoying in P4G and I think they made it slightly easier with P5 and P3R.
P5R had ambush so why would you need to grind The Reaper? C'mon now
@@real1mem3s mostly for min maxing lol not everyone plays these games for a challenge they sometimes just like to see how powerful they can become.
@@RaidenKaiser So true
Just beat him with this method at lvl 24. Took 1 hr and a half 😅
That's dedication!
Reaper was made to be one-shoted by amageddon
I hate my life i did stuff that were so tough and i just found this💀💀💀💀💀
I was very lazy so at around level 30 I tried this and was dealing no damage, so I made a razer keyboard macro to just press space every second to basically auto hit & revive and it took around 5 hours lol
I have a question after you killed the reaper the first time can you kill him the same night or do you got to wait until the next day to kill him again?
@@JC_Webb_Life you can defeat him the same night. Just go to a different floor and he will respawn.
if this also applies to p5r which is the other persona game i played beside this, i kinda regreted not farm the reaper when my lvl is above 60
It can definitely apply to P5R!
Why would you even need level 99 in peaceful?
@@realzeffyy thank you so much ❤️
I’m prob gonna bring Ken for buff null. Koromaru for Revo and shinji for damage and use mc for debuffs
I came to this video because i'm tires of persona 3, its a great game but feels repetitive at some point, this did not happen to me in persona 5.
I have a cuestion, when i beat the reaper, i need to reload Tartarus or he can respawn in the same run after i killed him?
He can respawn in the same Tartarus run but not on the same floor. So just move to another floor and continue to farm!
not going to cap i need a explination or a guide on how to put the skills you want on a persona bcause idk how to
You get skill cards from shuffle time that you can use from the item menu. Then you select the persona you want to learn the skill.
Can use skill cards and once you unlock Mayoido Antiques it becomes a lot easier. You can also fuse Personas that learn specific abilities and then fuse them with other Personas into the Persona you want. I will be doing a guide on this as well!

I’m on new game, im level 60 plus even super easy mode I can’t beat it
I'm on merciless, so not really possible until I get that 9999 almighty theurgy
That Theurgy is insane!
I’m playing on merciless… oh well time to grind not whine
I'm currently trying to route an Orpheus only merciless run hahaha
Question: does the difficulty setting affect the amount of EXP you gain? I am playing on Hard but I’m not sure if there is a difference in what you get
From my research, there's no difference in EXP gain for each difficulty. I could be wrong tho but I've done the numbers and it's the same. Only difference is dmg dealt and received.
@@realzeffyy appreciate the reply!
Just recently encountered the reaper early as my party was around level 25 and boy did it take more than an hour to defeat it after going down numerous times I was finally able to beat it and my party went from 25 to 61 and of course I was doing it on peaceful difficulty
Damn fr? It’s that hard?
@ichigokurosaki215 for reals man.. I even had the best weapons and the personas I had were alright and it's still a challenge even on the easiest difficulty
Is there a minimum level you have to be to try this? I’m currently lvl 28
No minimum level just when you finally can encounter the reaper. Obviously, lower level it will take longer but still doable.
When does the reaper start appearing
June
Lv minumun to try it. Bc at lv 22 takes to lomg
Easier way:Armaggedon go boom
I’m assuming the reaper responds? or does he die once you beat him once?
Unless they changed it in this version yes I believe you can just wait around again for the timer to go down and he should respawn on the same floor
Can respawn yes!
weird question but can this work for p3p?
ages ago, but if u care slightly, just use thunder reign on an odin and cycle debuffs with aigis and akihiko, thunder reign almost always procs shock so u can cheese most turns if you get the cycling down properly

pls tell me is it stackable? ill sub just tell me pls if I do it again, will i get the xp again?

damn unfortunately im playing merciless and im pretty sure you cant lower the difficulty without getting locked out of merciless, still tho im like level 70 i think im gonna give it a shot whats the worst that could happen
i'm on normal, fought him at lvl 78 with personas up to lvl 85. died like five times before i lowered the difficulty lmao... i say give it a shot if you have some super busted personas but it might be tricky! or maybe i'm just dumb idk
Oh definitely still possible with the right Personas. Give it a try!
Today i one shot reaper with armageddon in merciless...the fight ended in just 5 second igot 5 level up to 93
I plan on doing this with Shinjiro
I was lv 32 and accidentally one shot the reaper 😭
I think this is gonna take me like a decade to kill this thing for real
If you have the right party setup/Personas, it's actually easier than you might think. Good luck!
@@realzeffyy Well I did it but I went back because I’m only level 24 and this would ruin the game right now for me
I got from level 25 to level 99 😂
I used the boost exp arcana card.
Me on Merciless: 👁️👄👁️
On peaceful you can literally do this at Level 1, just a note though it'll make the game way too easy. Even at hard difficulty after you cross level 85 there is not much enemies can do to you and towards end game you'll unlock so many strong personas you'll be nuking everything
Perfect. This is exactly what I want actually

@@swissmixtape8905 yeah 65-80 should be good for hard. But over 80 is just overkill
Can the Reaper Respawn?
Yes it can!
Im on merciless so I can’t do this 😢
How’s that ?
Super awesome video. I mentioned this on your IG but have you thought about making a paperback 100% strategy guide for Persona 3 Reload?
Hey man, thanks! Doing a full 100% guide would take so much time but there are some really good resources online already to help you. Feel free to comment some suggestions of anything in particular and I would be more than happy to help you out! 👍
@zeffyno8 yeah I know that it would take a lot of time to generate a strategy guide but you are super knowledgeable about the game. Something to think about.
Would be interesting in knowing what are the best weapons and armor to use at the early stages of the game?
Yea will definitely! I upload most of my knowledge here anyway but will look into it for sure!@@Blasian_CEB
how to make an easy game even easier :
Time to go giga level
Question. WHEN would you say is the lowest recommended level to start doing this and with what party members?
Personally, I wouldn't recommend farming until you get to the Tziah block in Tartarus. Everything before that is pretty easy and you can get by without needing to grind too much. Reaper can hit any weakness so party doesn't matter too much. You can bring whoever you want to level up fast.
1st kill took 4hrs
Currently at like lvl 20, i just like being op in games idk
Go for it! Why not become a shadow killing machine!
Do this in january only ! Because it'breaks the game
But then Nyx will be way too easy
Thanks bro
Yeah impossible if you play merciless like me 😅😂
Idk it take the fun away when you speed farm or use dlc in persona for your first run. But this a definitely the way to go on new game plus
Yeah that’s why I’m definitely not farming
Idk the gameplay gets pretty repetitive, kinda worth it
Very true! It is very cheesy but again, use it, don't use it, doesn't really matter. It's whatever works for you!
@@DoubleOhSilver I get that. But that’s part of the jrpg experience lol
@@solismax65i mean 95% of the enemies give you a measly poor amount of EXP which only bosses, Golden Hands and Reapers are worth fightning, judging by the game philosophy it was designed to REQUIRE BEING CHEESED (overgrinding, Golden Hands trick, peaceful reaper) and genuinely sucks (it is like telling you ignore nearly everything and cheese through it lol) no wonder why these games are so damn long cause 70% is grind, 30% is actual gameplay and story
not gonna fo this yet it will break my game, will be too easy I'm gonna finish the game 1st then do this or try to do it legitimately
It’s a little too much cheese. They should’ve locked the reaper to only the higher difficulties. He’s practically nonexistent and you’ll probably never see him unless you’re in a dark room. You can also just stand and wait but the point is he never shows up to just unfairly kill ya He has no fear factor
I would be happier to have a more aggressive reaper if it removes this leveling method
Oh it's definitely cheesy... But also kinda nice if you don't have the time to spend on grinding.
If I didn’t have time for grinding I probably won’t be playing this. Or if I’m only here for story I would be in a lower difficulty.
That’s not a time the grind issue that is just skipping the early mid game and going straight to the endgame. I’m probably gonna do it but for the final 10 levels
Honestly who cares. It doesn't affect you so let people do whatever they want. Nobody is forcing you to do this.
Can someone give me the TLDR?
Set difficulty to Peaceful. This makes it so your main character revives every time you die letting you whittle down the Reaper and gives you a ton of exp when you beat him.
Your video's are informative HOWEVER, bro.. Just cut straight to the point.
Point taken. I try to condense a lot of information into a single video but in future if I can't quite get there I will have timestamps so it makes navigating easier!
It took me 2 hours to beat him
Went from level 20ish to 73
Akihiko and Junepei ran away during the fight so they're still level 27
