    What a great analogy to compare sugar syrup to pop tarts or a freshly baked Danish! Great way to understand what the girls prefer.

    Formic works nice in the north but with one strip it needs to be warm if it's not over 60 in the day I use two. But I switched two years ago with really good results.

    • @sethhillABR
      @sethhillABR  Рік тому

      I didn’t get to slide second strip in so it same moderate results splitting to create a brood break with a little OA to clean them well enough until fall

    I Thank God for sending yall Seth, I prayed for help 1¹/² yr ago and found Bob, Kaymon and Bruce's videos. Very educational. This will be my first year attempting grafting, quick question: I'm guessing you raise queens in active hive with a working queen then what day do you put cell in new nuc? And do you have to go back and check for new cells and destroy? Or do they know they have a new queen coming? And what about the mating? Do you just check for eggs in 3weeks? I've watched all your videos with Bob but have missed those points. Thanks bro. Praying God draw you close to Him. Yall have been a true blessing

    • @sethhillABR
      @sethhillABR  Рік тому

      If your installing a queen you should go and kill old queen cells if your installing a cell your cell should in theory hatch before any of the ones they have created so the virgin will sting theirs down and you’ll be left with your queen every once in awhile they won’t accept your cell but that’s the way we try to do it

    Does a 2 frame split this time of year have enough time to make a honey crop this year in your area? Here in Ohio our season is shorter. We can raise queens in April, make most of the honey in early June
