First time I had heard Goldenrod not good for bees. It would seem if the nectar/pollen was not good for the bees they would know and not bring it in in such quantities. Here in South Central Missouri seems as though, the goldenrod is blooming earlier.
One idea I have wondered about! If you have a late season, swam. Pinch the queen! Because I hear that if they lose the queen, they will go back to the hive they exist. Yes, it's a risk that the replacement queen might need to get mated and etc. But isn't it possible for a rebound to become quicker because of the field bees returning. Just thoughts here!

Greetings from northern Utah and thanks for your videos. I pulled off my honey supers and harvested from the frames that were capped. There were more frames of uncapped nectar especially in my younger colonies that needed to draw wax on new foundations. What do you do with these uncapped frames? I want to start treating with apivar so not sure what to do with the nectar frames. Thanks
For those apprehensive about killing bees with mite checks, in addition to reasons pointed out in the video, in the active season the queen is laying 1500+ eggs per day. One average, this same number of bees are perishing everyday. Therefore, the 300 or so bees sacrificed for the test end up in the noise (granted you are targeting young nurse bees in mite checks and not the older foragers, but the point still remains).
Good vid I find the only thing that works for robbing is feeding late at night and only half a kilo at a time my enterances are all just one hole one in all year round
Darling I come to the conclusion that you are NOT a Beekeeper. Good thing you tried to bee. You didn’t tach the hives, your bee yard is unorganized, any time you open a hive no bees are to be seen ( with some exceptions), your bee suit is very messy that’s why you captured the face only. Ooo. No colony of bees is made of millions of bees. Or you may have that kind of colony? I like to have that genetic. I noticed that you are beeeeeze and you ignore the people who commented……
I am not sure what you would get from that info. if provided. As you are prolly aware, beekeeping is a hyper-local activity. For example, I have hives in remote mountainous locations that I have never had to treat for mites. However, just 10 miles away I have hives near small-scale agriculture and other folks bees that I regularly have to treat. Additionally, the hives in this "dirty" location that I use for brood and queen factories, rarely have mite levels above my treatment threshold (1-2%). My point being you can successfully be a "bad/lazy" beekeeper in one location and be an attentive beekeeper and unsuccessful in another, even locations very close. The variables are much larger than bee-breed, management practices, mite treatments, etc. This (for lack of a better term) bee-bragging related to hive loss does not seem constructive to me. I lost bees last year, in all my bee yards. According to the latest BIP survey, a lot of us lost hives. What would be gained by knowing survival rates? Likely, I am missing something.
She has posted many videos on "sure" ways to get them threw or guarantee survival...you would think she would have no problem sharing her % with us. Brag about the hives she "bought", but wont tell the bad. Alot better to be open about stuff, specially if your making informative videos for keepers, plus selling nucs to people with maybe false hope or genetics... I know nothing is guarentee and goes from ur to yr. She says some good information, but says some bad. So...🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

Dude, there is a possibility she actually can’t answer the question, in conflict to her outward personality and ability to communicate. My first wife, 14 years into our 18 year relationship we discovered she had a insidious level of autism- meaning, she can’t respond. In the beginning of my recent engagement of one year , my fiancé pointed to herself and said, I have a problem responding . This isn’t shyness or intimidation, they really cannot do it. Recently, I met a woman who also could not respond. That ended very quickly. But it’s true. She might not be able to respond to the question. Regardless, she should get the the question anyway because it is very important in determining if you want to use her method or not

Yes! Especially for winter time. That smaller space will help keep mice out when the bees move up
