- It's been a long time coming, and with more than three months with the ROG Ally - I figured it's high time to
introduce some of the BEST games for the little handheld console. These 10 games have been running their paces
on my Ally for months on end and I figured now is a good time as any to share them with you all!

I apologize my information for Starfield was mixed up and vague:
1080p up to 60fps low settings (Turbo mode)
1080p up to 30-40fps low settings (performance mode)
720p up to 40-60fps low settings (performance)
720 up to 50-60fps low settings (Turbo mode)
The fps dips in certain locations but reaches a high of 60fps and over
Did u play this with external GPU? Or just on Ally? Thanks for answer.

what settings do you use for RDR2? I barely get 30fps in 720p performance mode. How do you even get 1080p 40 fps.
I just want to mention another great game that plays and looks amazing on the ROG Ally is Halo MC collection. Enhanced (max) at 1080p is almost locked at 120 FPS on Turbo and ranges between 80-120 FPS on Turbo. Great way to play through this series on the go!

Not current AAA but Severed Steel and Black Ops 3 are amazing FPS games for this. Easy 1080p in performance. I got Black Ops 3 running on silent 60 fps with the community patch
You can also check out some Severed Steel gameplay on my channel. This was before the firmware update performance uplift that we received after 317. It's even better now
God of War is a must play on the rog ally. I've thought about getting it on steam, i already have it through PS5 but being able to take it on the go is amazing
is the the cheaper ally or is this the Extreme
6 gb vram is the sweet spot for the Ally ! I haven't changed it in months and get the same results your getting including rdr2 ! Also i use 900 p all the time . Its barely noticeable

I love re4 remake on the ally. Till yesterday I booted it up and It started crashing. Any tips to get it working like it was?
Try switching the VRAM usage in armoury crate to 4-6gb or maybe 8gb if those options don’t work.
So, upon just buying a brand new unopened Ally Z1 on ebay & doing ALL updates, I still can't find any CPU or GPU settings or the gyro settings, neither in Windows settings or Armory Crate. As I won't be playing anything newer or more demanding than Cyberpunk, Last of Us, or Stray (maybe some day Last Of Us 2) & I don't care about having them on high settings/fps, can I still play on Silent mode (& usually at home)??
I know i'm a month late but if you don't care about fps or high settings, you can play anything on silent mode i'm sure.
Great list. I must be honest, I would have filled the list with games impossible or difficult to play on the Steam Deck (Destiny 2, Dead Island 2, Roblox, COD, etc, but I can be petty like that.
Ori and the blind Forrest and Ori and the will of the wisps are GREAT games on the Ally.
Yeah those two games look incredible on the 1080p screen and it plays well in silent mode.
I can't wait to play those again when the Ally arrives. Incredible titles!
Need For Speed the one that came out in like 2015/2016 I think plays lovely on the Ally. I usually get between 40 and 55 fps. On performance mode.
Agreed Need for Speed Most Wanted is awesome on ROG Ally as well. Prefect pick up and play on the go game.
My go to right now is Hitman world of assassination!
I don’t know what re4 remake you’re playing but I don’t get 60 frames consistently at 1080p on performance, damn near 30

My favorite game on the rog ally on turbo is final fantasy 7 remake...60 fps .. awesome game !!! Awesome story!!!!

I'm getting this mainly for side scrolling games, yeah I can get the steam deck for less but I am a RoG fanboy.
I have the Ally and Deck and I use the Ally exclusively. Probably gonna sell my deck. The ally can do everything the deck can do plus more. Also the screen is so much nicer.
i need to know what GOD settings youre using for most of these games because RDR2 - 1080p performance, 40fps.. nah! 30fps max lol.. but share your setting

You said that you had a lot of problems with RDR2 and it kept crashing? Was there a fix and it stopped crashing? I'm confused because on the title, 10 games that shine on ROG Ally. If the game kept crashing, I don't think that's considered shining, unless if you were able to fix it. When you changed your VRAM to 4gb, did it stopped crashing totally? Just wanted to make sure which is which, because I myself am planning to get an ROG Ally in the near future.
Oh No it was crashing on Steam Deck, so far there have been zero crashes. But when starting read dead for the first time there was one crash, I fixed that by switching the vram to 8gb. It happened because I had it in auto. If you set the Vram to 8 or even it’s default, RDR2 will play very well.

I have gears of war 4 on the rog ally and it looks really good
GoW5 plays on ally like it plays on the series x, it was mindblowing
Like the fact that you are not limited to Steam games. Would love the device if my sd card reader wasn't fried. Still waiting to hear that they fixed the issue before I send it back.
Also love the XBox live free trial and will probably continue with that since it offers a lot of bang for you bucks.

You can but it's through Microsoft Edge, and I don't think you can download games only stream. It's a work around since Microsoft doesn't want to officially support it on Steam Deck.
I want to add my two cents and say that division 2 plays amazingly well on the rog ally.
Starfield plays wonderfully in turbo mode but sounds like you're in a wind tunnel so be sure to plug your active noise cancelling earbuds in. Alternatively you can play if almost silent with in the cloud.
Hey brother, I’m a new gamer and I do have a rogue ally I purchased modern warfare two the older version and the controls just simply don’t work. I’m trying everything watching videos. I’m shooting darts out here trying to see if someone could help. Maybe contacting me on how to do it. Fantastic video absolutely loved what you do and how you describe the gameplay. Well done.
I think there is a option where you can choose control settings for diffrent games.
No just no. Your not getting 60fps in 1080p in higher settings in star field. I’m getting 30-50 in 720p in the lowest settings. You can expect 50 indoor fights. Low 30s in big outdoor fights. There’s no way in hell to get 60fps in 1080p higher settings

Yeah his numbers seem wrong here. Even with fsr in ultra performance it’s not hitting the fps he says here in most of these games. I play a lot of them and I’m not seeing performance like he says lol
You’re right I didn’t explain well enough, but I pinned the correct information. I wrote a script and sometimes mix up information unfortunately.

Asus sent me one for testing. It's really a monster but the battery is ridiculous... I still prefer deck oled

Res 4 remake does not run like you said. On performance mode 60fps??(i have my ally for a while and never got that)
Not sure if it's a glitch but i see over 120fps sometimes on this game in my device, i just let it go automatic settings and of course it is on turbo/performance mode
where is BG3
Resident Evil 4 runs around 30-40 fps. So the above video is wrong about that. It's weird that it doesn't run too great. GTA5 and RDR2 both run smooth for example.
There's options in the settings menu of every PC game. Use them

What i really wanted was to play my jrpg rpgmaker games but i just couldnt get the controls working. So i gave up lol. Pretty much bought and haven't used more then an hour. Maybe ill finally use it now to atleast play the Witcher 3 that i got on steamsale.
Another game that works really well on the Rog Ally is Metal Gear Solid 5

Your sad card will never fail if you cap it to 25w. The sd card slot fails do to the cpu hitting massive 90%c temps when it hits 42w+. I don’t know why the system wasn’t just capped at 25 to begin with to be vastly more stable and you’ll never see the temp above 65%c. Far too low to ever hurt the reader that fails around 84%c.
First day I got my rog ally , put a 1TB card in it !! Easy to do!!! Don't care about the s.d card reader now. $800 now I have the best handheld on the market!! Laugh all you want.
@deathshade777 Trust me, temps don't appear to be the only culprit. I capped mine at 18-20w with custom fan curves. Never... ever touched turbo mode, and it failed. It was all fine until I swapped my sd card for one with more memory. Love the Ally, but the sd card issue is a major disappointment.
I am loving my SD playing older titles but it's just on the edge of not being enough for a lot of games and there's a bunch of games I just gave up on... I like the ROG but I think I will hold off until there is a V2 Ally or Deck..

Need for Speed (reboot von 2015) sieht auf 720p Ultra Einstellungen und RSR aktiviert in 1080p richtig gut aus. Sogar besser als das aktuelle NFS Unbound. Ein Geheimtipp auf dem Ally
My xbox's used to crash more than my PC ever did or does. so I would not say thats PC gaming for you. and least when PC crashes you don't have to restart the whole PC like console does.Even my series X used to crash once in a while. My Pc hardly ever crashes. In fact I can't remember the last time. CTD maybe. Can't remember any recently. But Yeah consoles crash more in my experience. And they make that horrible noise when they do it lol.

As soon as he said turbo mode i stopped the video. Everyone please look up custom power settings and fan curves. Do not use the preset ones they are terrible. Turbo mode will get this temps into the 90s and kill you battery with no fps gains

hmn something seems not right. It's a handheld PC, so you should NOT Use Turbo at all. 20W - 25W without Turbo gets you 40-50 FPS, otherwise you need to plug it in or recharge quickly, so this list is absolute nonsense.
I have multiple power banks so turbo doesn’t bother me, but I make sure the game works well in performance mode most of the time

Depends on your PC. There's a shitload of extra variables on PC that can cause problems. Your PC never crashes? Goog for you, you however are not the norm.
