Honestly that's not far fetched... at least I think it is the spirit of ionia that endowed irelia with power. One of her quotes to karma go along the lines of " you claim to speak for the spirit as if they do not mo e my blades." I think the spirit chose irelia because she was an innocent ionian girl, much like the untainted first lands.
In Katma's very first lore, she was called the Duchess of Ionia. Somewhat like a royalty. And Irelia was one of her generals who lead the battle against Ionia. Then their reworks arrived. Karma's classic skin was changed and was given a more battle ready look. From a royalty she became a pacifist. Then her recent lore change changed her again. This time somewhat like the Avatar. I hope that you create a Morgana/Kayle video once their rework is revealed. I main both ever since season 2-3.
Karma is the sole reason I started playing League because I am a huge fan of Avatar The Last Airbender and I loved her lore!! Now I have nearly half a million mastery points with her, lol.

What do you think of Shen having the first new no boots animation with one of his fist behind his back and the new current animation of the arm resting on the second sword as a with boots animation? I personally don't like the idea that the celestials are trying to fix things because it fill like they are the ones to create them (the ascented line and darkins). I prefer the idea that a war broke down between old gods(aurelion sol) and new gods(targon) where the New gods won and the result was that the old gods were either imprisoned (aurelion sol), isolated themselves (anivia), hided themselves (maybe the great weaver) or were left to do their thing. Now the New gods have messed up big time with certain events they themselves cause (darkins) or by fragments of the old war (maybe runes). The targonian gods have too many flaws and this kind of lore could explain that.( just look how the choose their vessels based on their own preferences rather than finding vessels that will put thes powers at good use).
Also the could make the weapons of the ascented were made by the skin of an ancient warloving species that are basically the demon of Runeterra that are actually still alive way to deep into the planet of Runeterra and their claws could harm the gods. That way the survival of certain darkins like aatrox, barus and raast may have a better explanation since (i think) we never learnt how they were imprisoned in their weapons but others were slaughtered.
And the void was made by 1 powerful watcher making him an old god. We could add more mystery by havind someone imprisoning him just before the old god war, causing the void going berserk and corrupting it to its current form
Lastly i hope the kayle and morgana rework will introduce us to a winged race that are the citizens of the city of gods instead of having morgana and kayle be ascented
I like to think that ionia is just asia in runeterra. And karma looks like she is indian asian person and I know that india has a thing for karma. And in real life asians were always bit closer to nature based healing methods, balance (literaly yen and yang). Ofc Ionia has all the ninjas such as akali, zed,shen,kennen they even have samurai. Yasuo.

Nick M their basically giving her a mechanic that was deemed un fun on an old champion and are now giving it to her. Wouldn’t say this is a good rework, makes us even more reliant on being in a duo lane, when Karma was meant to be a solo lane who can also function well in a duo.
