Yes it is looking like a "bunch of nothing again" . You can see there is no Z 6III at CP+ . Disappointing as this will be the camera everybody want's. The Z6I then z6II were rushed out and are very limited cameras. Z6III can be smaller and more affordable than the bulky heavy Z8 and Z9, full of usable latest tech with usable 24 MP or 36 MP , could be a perfect camera . Maybe third quarter of 2024 ? But we can bet on Nikon will be finding a way of hindering the Z6III , probably in the read out speed department , and won't be as good as Z8 or 9 , It may still end up with some dreaded rolling shutter , so as to differentiate from the the Z8 9 , Nikon will not compromise the hype and sales for Z8 which is labeled as a baby Z9 .

That was a large update for the Z8. Camera wars, I think they will always exist. The Viltrox 20mm af don’t look bad. And for $158.00 US, I seen some images from it so far. The ergonomics of the Z-mount allow for a small “Fuji Style” medium format sensor and still get it fully illuminated by z-mount, how much such a setup would compromise optical performance, I couldn’t say, but I would like to see a ZM body in the lineup.
I really hope they release a DX body. My opinion is it has been delayed so tha they add more professional lenses to compete with the fast viltrox and sirui lenses not forgetting the sigmas. Good show as usual. Watching from Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪
Nikon is doing a great job! They deserve to receive appreciation for the effort they keep putting in to cameras that they have already sold. Sadly for me (and possibly a few others) the one feature I was really hoping for was not included in this version of the Z8 firmware. I hope we get Anamorphic modes or open gate for video at some point for the Z8, or that it is put into the Z6III.
It is rumoured the Z6iii will be announced by April this year 2024 and possibly ready for preorders at same time. Good to see a Viltrox 20mm f2.8 coming soon, which would be perfect for my Z5.

I don t know why more and more UA-camrs discuss about the rumors on the new camera… except being an argument to generate or make longer video… better to wait for the camera to be delivered, knowing also that rumors can t be precise on handling and quality of view finders (figures are not everything) which are for me the more important.
Yes, I would agree - mirrorless has taken over and all the brands , like cars today, are the same - AF, dynamic range, ISO, shutter speed, aperture, they're all more or less the same. However, ergonomics are where the differences remain for now.
It would be wonderful if one of the registered trademarks was for a Monochrome Nikon camera, but I am aware that this is really a wishful idea on your part.

Nikon please, I would like on next firmware version 3.0, when I turn the top Control Panel display ON, to be a little brighter and with more contrast
