Alex Hormozi is a founder, investor and an author.
Alex's Twitter has been one of my favourite sources of great insights over the last year. Today we get to go through some of my favourite lessons from him about life, human behaviour, psychology, business and resilience. This is really good.
Expect to learn how your ego is keeping you poor, why you never need to care about what anyone else thinks of you, why having a life that sucks is actually a blessing, whether most easy opportunities are just distractions, how to conquer your tiny impulses, why you are built to deal with things being hard, how to beat anyone who ever copies you and much more...

I'm only 6 weeks old and this man has changed my life. I'm so glad my dad listens to this with me around.
You should have a tech startup going by your 2nd trimester, good luck! 😂

Wow, what a time to be alive little buddy!
Don't make fun of the non-incels who are doing well. They should be encouraged, not mocked.
Just sold my 9 figure business after i scaled it to the max at 7 years old.
"If you're succeeding at a job you hate, imagine how good you'd be at a job you loved." That hit me right where I live. Good stuff. And right at the beginning, too.
My question is... How the heck do I find a job I like?

“This is how hard feels like” is just what I need to hear right now. Thank you guys
Good one! I needed to hear “wantrepreneur”…
I have never seen anyone be able to stay on the same level of Alex's intelligence. He usually dominates every conversation - Chris did awesome.
Bro but his health advice is shit, he talks about eating whatever he wants like muffins, milkshake, etc, bullshit advice as per health
My thoughts exactly, 2 bright men together create an incredible podcast.
Dude. Absolutely. It made me incredibly aroused in a heterosexual way.

It’s not just intelligence but rather experience and long and deep times of self reflection that preceded their conversation.
I'm only fourteen and these videos have helped me so much when it comes up to my personal life and my social it's so crazy how small habits can really affect everything

The stuff you do every day is the stuff you have to optimise. Get that routine nailed down, and then stick to it. Youll find so many free hours
Also weed sucks your motivation away because it makes dull crap seem fun. You gotta get addicted to progress! (or in my case, crossing todos off of lists hahaha)
Try not to smoke weed or drink on a regular basis or just abstain in general. It's fun to know what things are like and having knowledge of the different facets of life, but there's nothing exiting about being a slave to habits that take focus over other areas.
@@x_Artius_x agreed 100%. Keep on the path and you be surprised on how far ahead you’ll get when you look back!
Bro. SO MUCH VALUE. These guys have optimized my life SO much, I've been able to 10X my business, regrow my foreskin, and literally lose my virginity 3 times. Thank you so much.

This is one of the best interviews with hormozi since the first iced coffee hour podcast. Chris is a stellar host
Completely agree
Hands down one of the best interviews I watched in a while. Finally someone who is not acting as a clown or a victim 😩
Thank you! I'm a brain injury and coma survivor, and after listening to this, I feel so lucky to have all the struggles I have been dealing with. "This is what hard looks like."... and still doing it anyway with a broken brain.
"my life sucks, I have nothing to love for, really means I have nothing to hold me back - nothing to lose" that's a powerful take
Isn't this a quote by Churchill?
It is quite profound, actually. Life is all about perspective.

Mature direction, more stable moods - one of the major lessons I’ve learned from Hormozi 🌲
52:20-57:40 just gave me goosebumps, I’ve never related to a video more thanks Chris & Alex you guys just changed my life and don’t even realize it!
Me too!
Man, I could watch/ listen to these two all day, everyday
This is one of the best conversations I’ve ever heard. There are so many nuggets of wisdom that I’m going to strive to live by. This definitely deserves a second and third listen.
I almost didn't listen to this pod, expecting to roll my eyes at the bro stuff. But the content surprised, challenged, affirmed and taught me. Came away from it delighted and buzzing with ideas. Thanks to you and Alex for proving me wrong!
What do you mean by "bro stuff" though?
How haughty 😂 Glad you learned
Yeah this was pretty good. I was expecting typical self help nonsense.
I'm half way and have heard over a 100 quotes
Everything Alex says is so genius. BUSINESS. FITNESS. SO MUCH VALUE.
I usually can't listen to any of these guys but I really like this dude. I love how explains things, and the framing of mind he puts into situations.
"these guys"?
Alex is for sure a refreshing exception since he has money already and doesn't need to sell bs
The beginning of this interview was interesting as Alex appears to just have a lot of energy and for him that's probably a driving force to overcome obstacles. For people that are stuck where they are, I think a lot of them complain because it's simply easier to do that and live in the safety of their mediocrity versus having to put in continuous effort to improve your life. I've noticed that with a lot of people in life. They put in enough work/effort to get by, but not many people are willing to put in that extra 10% whether it benefits themselves or not. Both you guys know this and understand the hard work you have had to put in to achieve your goals. An while I'd argue we all gain personal success from this growth, it won't result in financial success for everyone.
One of the best things you can invest in is your health, even if it never makes money. (Investing time, energy, and a reasonable amount of money.)
Alex embodies much of what I strive to be as a man, to serve others, treat others as I would be treated, and to give to others not to get but as an expression of my energy, manliness, passion, creativity, and love.. I’ve come to believe that’s what a true man is
I’ve listened to Alex on DOAC and I have to say I learnt so much more from your podcast Chris. Alex has so much knowledge/ wisdom to share and this conversation really showcased that.
That quote about heroes being just talented at one thing normal people is how I felt all growing up. Me finding my niche and focusing deeper and deeper on it has been the growing key of my success.
Most excited for this episode above all others, learnt SO much from Alex he is unbelievable value!
Just finished this episode.....Thank you for presenting this information man. Can't tell you how many times I cried listening.....been unknowingly seeking these answers for a looooooooong time. Thank you so fucking much.

The quality of your conversations just keeps climbing, Chris.

Alex is GREAT. Love everything he does, super happy to see him on the podcast again.
I just took a big risk this morning before listening. And I was feeling good with my decision. The topic of risk adjusted return gave me the validation I needed. Also there’s someone out there that has had it worse and done it better and I’m going to catch up to them.

@@Joe-sg9ll what do you mean
This is one of your best Chris! Alex you are a legend mate, thank you for your books and content.
Love these episodes with Alex
This is exactly how I managed to retire at 24. Going all in on businesses and investing. I guilt tripped myself after doing years of research coming from a good family in Uk. If I can’t take the risk of losing all my money at 23, nobody else in the world can. Therefore I had to do it for the sake of everyone else not being fortunate enough to be in my position.
@15:20 “changing your environment” is known as pulling a geographic in addiction/codependency treatment. “If only moved to x, I’d be so much happier.” Mostly not, because wherever you go, there You are. But go for it if you want, sometimes it will work long enough for you to change yourself, but be really aware that “doing the work” can’t be avoided by moving out of town.
It’s simple yet complex. You must start with intention and stick with you’re basically reprogramming yourself
As someone who is really good at pulling geographics, I can confirm that this is true. I've never heard that term before, but I'm adding it to the glossary.
Thanks for doing what you do, Chris. It’s helped me a lot and I’m sure it has done the same for many many others
This episode was truly amazing! So many things to dissect and implement in my life.
Thanks for making this podcast!

“You can only feel inadequate if you go to the next level, if you always feel amazing it’s because you haven’t moved up.”
Wow! That’s DEEP!
This is top tier toxic positivity podcasting, bro. Nailed it!
I don’t understand what you mean
@@ryankelly8843 my understanding is that toxic positivity describes the phenomena where you become discouraged and feel bad about yourself after hearing someone rant about how easy success is. It's easy to get down on yourself because you start to wonder: wait, am I just not applying these very straightforward pieces of advice? What kind of person does that make me? Or you sell all your shit and start a business (give Alex some money to tell you how), then your business fails, because most businesses fail. It's not good stuff. You can set yourself back significantly in life by taking unnecessary, large risks, because you got motivated by Alex, who is clearly high on stimulants.
This was an incredible podcast, so much value, thank you!
Conversations like this give me hope for the internet. So valuable.
You must not have listened to their talk about the future of the internet then lol
When an unstoppable force meets an immovable object
Sick of 'Rich People on the Internet' saying how easy it is after they have done the hard work. You are a statistic too. You just got the winner ticket. For every one of you, there is a 1000 just like you that missed the boat.
True. I've owned my own business for 24 years. I still struggle just like everyone else.
@@clippertonislander1478 The true job of any entrepreneur is being a Problem Solver. That job is never done. The struggle will always be there in some way. The only difference is are you compensated well enough to keep it going?
Business fail for many different reasons, but one way I think of it is the spreadsheets were not Green enough to make up for the Red. Lots of business that are run like crap and have so many holes in it, but the Green keeps it going. And there are some very sound business that just lake enough Green to keep it going.
Success if ultimately a Popularity Contest. The more people that support your business, the better it will be. The product or service objectively speaking, does not matter if its bad, good or great.
Honestly the amount of value in this podcast is unbelievable and absolutely life changing
Thank you so much Chris and Alex

Alex has a lot of wisdom to share about taking action and working hard to achieve a directional goal. I pity his perspective that life is a game you play until you're annihilated and disappear in death. The "mountain" of "more money" is a wasted life unless there is something greater than ourselves to guide how we steward those resources. One man's uninvited opinion.
