I like the fact that they dont have increment in first 40 moves . Time trouble is essential part of the chessgame , but if you have 30 sec increment from move one, then you are never really in bad time trouble. This format looks very good, time management is as important as good moves.
10 second increment can be given , best of both worlds. There will still be tension, but players will have some breathing time. We dont want classical wcc to be decided by a flag.
To be fair ding managed his time poorly and was in an extremely difficult position by the end so it wasn't really an injustice for gukesh to win in time when he had the superior position as well
I beg to differ. Time management can be tested with increements too. Seeing Ding ose on time is something almost unheard of during the old classical times. Indroducing this sudden death b time feels to me has the elements of chaos to it. Good for blitz and bullet but never good for super chess in a world championship.
Lovley commentary by Sagar. Though, I would recommend not spoiling the game via the title. I would have liked to see it unfold without knowing Gukesh was going to win. nonetheless, Gukesh played very well. I still root for Ding. he was caught off guard by the opening. He should be able to bounce back next game. But it will be a draw. Momentum has favored Gukesh now.
Well done Gukesh. This time I actually went through the game move by move after it was over. I am rooting for Ding but credit where it’s due! Up to move 17 Ding was actually better than Gukesh which was really good given he was playing with black pieces. But ignoring the “trapped” the queen side bishop cost Ding the game at move 18! Gukesh managed to convert really well. While we all root for one or the other player, no one is complaining about the excitement! This World Championship is very entertaining!
Yeah I think ding will actually be remembered as an exciting champion- both his matches so far have featured a lot of open attacking games which as far more fun for the spectators then Magnus grinding out marginal wins and draws with absolute safety
I already saw the game, but it was nice to see it again, this time with Sagar's commentary. The drama when Ding just let the seconds go by, it reminded me of his battle against Nepo. But this time I don't think that Ding can recover from this. I think that Gukesh will totally crush and Ding will crumble.
Already knew the result but still watched whole match in complete excitement and nervousness till the last moment if winning move Congratulations Gukesh
I love this videos but wish there could be some consideration of not posting spoilers in the titles, especially for such an important, long-awaited match.
Brilliant commentary as always 👍 Gukesh looks like he has got his mojo back! he looked very confident and calm during the whole game and he was always in control. I think he may have Ding on the ropes and I believe Gukesh is in the drivers seat now, after a bit of a shaky start. He is back to playing the kind of chess that got him here. I honestly believe Gukesh is going to become the next world champion.. 🙏🤞👍
Feeling incredibly happy, joyful and very satisfied to see our 18 year old Gukesh win game 3 with a strong comeback against Ding. Wishing lots of success and love to Gukesh and entire team supporting this young Indian talent ❤❤
On a hindsight , it was good that Gukesh lost the first match. Otherwise the world would have said that Ding is still under a state of mental depression.
I want to celebrate both of the young warriors who are under immense psychological pressure and are trading blows with honour and bravery...I couldn't give a sh** who wins but this is one of the most epic WCs ever.
14 games in total. A player has to score 7.5 points to win the tournament. In case of 7-7, tie breaker will be played on the next day (day after the 14th game).
I was worried Gukesh might lose today, after he played g5.....he has so much poise! You could see the anguish in Ding's face throughout the game. Congrats!
I never understand why the top 2 players here have to wear name tags or player card. I understand there is security but it just seems silly to me. These lanyards tags are meant to indentify a person. The very most VVIP people in the building and they need cards to identify themselves :)
For, you are not able to decipher that Gukesh had prep ( copied from Kramnik) while the awesome best / machine moves played by Ding ON THE BOARD are simply astounding and incredible....Miss of 1 move was very HUMAN...he is not machine
Sagar, you have boundless energy and you work hard towards provide chess content regularly. Cut down the overhype on Indian players. Don’t make them Gods. No other country treats its sportsmen like gods. These guys are good but not as great as you make them to be.

I don’t like the title tbh, as far as the board goes Ding honestly outplayed Gukesh until the Rh5 blunder. Gukesh did outperform him on the clock though, which sparked that error and the win, so he outplayed him in that way.
@@cryptopawn4808what’s wrong with what OP said? Until move 18, Ding was actually better than Gukesh. Move 18, he should have found a way to get the queen side bishop out but ignored it and moved the rook to h5. This cost him the game - even CBI mentioned the same thing in the community post. Ding defended well even after that but could never recover the advantage he had…
@@Debbie2324don’t make comments based on the engine bar that you see just before Rh5..you should know chess beyond the engine bars to know how players get into time trouble..also the game was over much before Ding got into time trouble ..anyone who has the above average knowledge on chess can understand it!!
@@cryptopawn4808I’m not making comments based on engine bar. I analysed the game move by move. Until move 13 it was exactly the same game as Arjun v Kramnik, game was equal. Gukesh made a mistake at move 15 as the pawn that was blocking the escape route of Ding’s queen side bishop was moved to g5. That’s where Ding found his advantage and the courage to actually ignore the “trapped” bishop . He then targeted Gukesh’s retreated bishop with his knight - discovered attack! It was after this point that he stumbled into a blunder. But had Ding utilised that chance at move 15 to focus on the trapped bishop, he would have had a good advantage.
This is one thing that I don't like about this channel. When introducing Anand, they emphasize 'Five Time World Champion.' While introducing Carlsen, they simply say Carlsen. When a good player from any other country wins against an Indian player, they don't post any video with any enthusiasm. While Gukesh appears to be Godly in this case. Everyone admires Anand and Gukesh. Ding is loved everywhere. All I want to say is that at least be a bit objective.

To be fair, he won based on Dings' silly mistake and getting his bishop trapped, which was totally unnecessary
Everybody wins with same reasons in top GM matches.😂@@lukebrady65
Ding is exciting to watch. Thanks to both the players we can look forward to an exciting clash.
Gukesh has to thank Arjun 😅 this game for quite some initial moves (until move 13) was the exact same as Arjun v Kramnik!
Love the commentary sagar sir...salute from Nigeria 🇳🇬
This is the best way to explain the Match,Congrats
First 13-14 moves was same game played between Arjun vs Kramnik in World Rapid 2024
A great narration... it sounds like football narrators in Brazil...
That was a clinical performance by Gukesh, even after the horrendous start he got…
