Very helpful and informative video thanks for making it. I watched a video and decided that I could do this job at the weekend. A word of warning though, removing and fitting the steering knuckle on the bottom of the shock absorber was extremely difficult. Don’t think my cars had ever been removed and it didn’t slip off or on as it does in the video. Also it’s best to replace the 36mm drive shaft nut as they have tabs on to hold them into place which break off once removed. You’ll also need a specific 36mm multi flanges socket to remove the nut as a standard 36mm socket doesn’t fit. I did it in the end but it’s not as straightforward as it appears in the video. Hope it goes well.

Unfortunately, we don't have the video of required replacement and we can recommend to have a look at a playlist of VW POLO 5 here: ua-cam.com/play/PLWep5LzT0sxl4tbdDKY-m5W6Ghu_hwuAO.html
4:29 This is wrong, you have to tighten the nut with the mount already, you don't just put it on top. It has to be fixed under the nut that's why it has a flange so it grabs and centers the rubber mount.
Thanks for your feedback! At 4:29 there was a preliminary tightening, since you need to fix the spring and pull out the shock-absorbing unit to insert it into place. At 7:39 the master is doing the final tightening.

The tool list says tap wrench but didn't see him using one
Didn’t need to remove half the stuff you did.
So when you say it’s a 36 impact socket you mean a 38
Just drove 45 minutes to buy a 36mm and came home and it didn’t fit 😢
More Copper!!
Can’t find a 21mm offset spanner anywhere
To view the options and purchase the one you need, go to www.autodoc.co.uk/spares-search?keyword=Ring-++Open+End+Spanner+
What size is the top mount nut?
you can see this information at 3:41 minute of the video
"VW POLO 5 Saloon" - Isn't the Polo a hatchback and the one in the video is a MK6 rather than 5, unless you're saying it's a 5 door version?
This is a MK5 6C (facelift) saloon (5door) different country’s call it different things.
2:00 socket #36 36mm??
Yes socket on 36 corresponds to size 36mm
