    Thank you so much! I've tried more than once to take this apart but after taking the screws out it didn't seem to want to come apart -- it was those two side screws, hidden quite well! Anyway, mine has run constantly for more than 10 years in a dirty and leaky basement, while undergoing demolition and refinishing -- lots of drywall dust, etc. and the inside was SO filthy! Good unit -- I'm amazed at its dependability.

    You are the man! I called Hisense and gave them specific details of my problem and they had to go talk to someone else! They told me to just hold power button for 30 seconds to reset unit. Their customer service is a joke. Found your video here and took me less than 2 hours to have it back into my crawl space and working just fine! Thanks for posting your videos on how to do this!

    Absolutely spot on fix! Thank you! The manufacturer has provided great customer service (replacing two units), but this is exactly the solution we needed. Hopefully the manufacturer puts a higher quality filter on the air intake vents on their next model design.

    Just finished LoRollinizing my Hisense 70 pint dehumidifier today....couldn't have done it without your fine videos! I was about ready to just replace it with a new one due to the "empty bucket" problem every few weeks. Wouldn't be so bad except the unit is located in my dark, dirty, mouse and black widow occupied crawlspace. Yup, found a bunch of mud in the screen. Thanks to you and the University of UA-cam, she's back in business putting out between 1 and 2 gallons a day, keeping the crawl at around 50-60% humidity (have it set at 50%). First year had no problems at all except one "clean filter" stoppage. I added some thin AC foam filtering from Frost King today also.

      Dan J, LoRollinizing! Hahaha That’s awesome man, I will have to definitely use that! I’m glad you dug into it and fixed the problem. It really isn’t that difficult to do. Kudos and good luck 👍!!!

    It's been 10 months since I cleaned it out the first time. Filled with goo again! It's a lot easier just to take the electrical cover off again to get to the float tank lid and then to the screen and clean everything out. Took about 15 minutes to disassemble, clean, and reassemble.

    Thank you so much for your video. I took it apart just as you showed. It was tough getting around all the wires. But I did it. I also attached a hose for continual draining. I was able to clean it and put it back together only to forget to reinstall the screen. So tomorrow I will take it apart again. At least I will know how to do it.

    Same unit. Mine was leaking while putting water into water tank. Your tear down helped me troubleshoot. So for some unknown reason the drip port started drip water down the side of the wall instead of straight down into hopper, so it will drip into hopper and drain down the wall to the bottom of the unit and out the front under the tank. No change in location, only thing done was to dump water.

    You are indeed the man. I had a different model with the same issue. It was actually harder to take apart. I had to remove everything. But it was the same issue where there was a bunch of crap stuck in the smaller water well that feeds the pump. I am going to order some filters and tape them on the side

    My 7 year old unit is still working fine thru these humid Tennessee summers but the male connector broke off in the female coupler of the drain tube.

    Nice job and thanks for video, you saved me time and $$. Very bad decision on the part of the manufacturer to not make that pump more accessible to avg home owner to clean out. Simple solution, pain the arse to get to it so you can clean it out. It would save them a ton on $$ on needless warranty claims since most home owners these days can’t turn a wrench much less disassemble a dehumidifier.

No wonder due to all of the gunk inside that white box, filter and float control tube thingy. Gross. Since I am cleaning it how do you take the front off? Looking thru the side filter vents with a flashlight it is pretty nasty in there too and needs to be cleaned. Thank you again!

    I held the power button down to reset it like someone in the comments mentioned and it solved my issue. That and cleaning the filter. So will be using this if necessary but will also be calling Hisense. Mine is a year old and for the money they wanted they can back their product. Sick of this.

    Great video! Once you open that little float tank with the filter, do you think it would help to spray some kind of bleach mixture in there to kill any mold growing in the tank, on the filter or in the lines?

    • @lorollinls
      @lorollinls  3 роки тому +1

      I think it would definitely help to run some bleach through the machine. It couldn’t hurt to spray a fine mist on the filters maybe to kill any mold and make the air smell a bit cleaner. Good ideas!

    So I just got a dehumidifier and the temperature in my house is 68f and 35% humid. I have emptied my bucket 2 times a day and there are little black/brown specs all over in the bucket. Everyone has said it’s to be dirt but I cannot find anything on Google

  • @lisahickey7914

    We use the bucket and empty it every other day. I cannot figure out how to open the bucket and clean it out. It gets very slimy inside. I have lifted the 3 snap closures but something else is still catching near the handle area. What am I missing?

    I have a garrison version of this it’s such a piece of garbage. Takes a good day before any water starts dripping out of the hose. Mine is a 50pint version with direct drain/bucket fill it has no condensate pump. The coil is pretty clean and I have had it apart to clean it regardless. I have a mastercraft dehumidifier from 1989 that works amazing compared to the garrison/hisense it does the majority of the work in my basement apartment

    • @lorollinls
      @lorollinls  5 років тому +1

      John Hoover , If you look at the unit carefully you will notice that there is no front cover per se. The front and bottom are basically the frame for all of the components inside. Therefore, you will most likely have to disassemble the entire unit.
