    Thanks for Posting! I had the F0 Code, cleaned the sensor and housing twice, got it very clean, worked for about an hour. F0 code again. I called Frigidaire. They were GREAT! ( like Frosted Flakes). They said it was a major failure and I qualified for a free replacement. Mailed in the paperwork today. They said it should arrive pretty soon. Thank You so much for posting Brother!

    Thanks for this very helpful, and well made, video.
    When I got the infamous F0 error code on my three year old unit I was sure I was going to have to purchase a new dehumidifier.
    I called Frigidaire/Elecrtrolux and got a service rep the first time. Took about 20 minutes, and they sent the paperwork as you described.
    I put it together and emailed it back in an hour and the replacement was on its way.
    Shipping took only four days!
    The replacement has a top outlet rather than side, but it may work just fine. We'll see.
    Happy camper!
    BTW: If anybody needs to know what to do with their old unit (it has freon in it so it's hazardous waste), I contacted my HVAC service contractor and they took it off my hands for free. They deal with A/C systems all the time. :-)

    I have a couple of 50 pint Frigidaire dehumidifiers, one that's several years older and slightly different design that's still going strong. I also have one that's in the same series as your 70 pint that's started throwing an F0 code. I tried the other recommended fixes with no success, so I'll be chatting with Frigidaire this week in hopes of some help. Thanks the effort in posting an excellent, informative, detailed video that includes real-world product application over time.

    I'd like to add my name to the growing list of people whom you have helped... everything you said was spot on and they are going to send me a replacement in the next 10 days, thus saving me the cost of a replacement unit.     My replacement dehumidifier arrived today. The original with the F0 code was purchased in June 2018, so it was just over two years old. Thank you very much for setting up this informative video; the replacement process played out exactly as you described it. (The Electrolux/Frigidaire chat feature was no longer working so I used the "Contact us" email option, and the reply was within a few days.)

    Thanks for posting this. This helped A LOT. I will note that the chat feature on website does not work anymore and emailing them is not a worthy way of doing anything productive. I have spent the last few weeks calling into customer service only to be repeatedly hung up on or not even allowed to be placed in the waiting que. Your video gave me the language that I needed to use once I finally got through to a human being. I simply told them that "I had an F0 error that is a breakdown of the 'Sealed' system and that it is covered by the 5 year warranty as noted in the user manual. I need you to send me the document to fill out and sign to get a replacement sent to me." After I said that...there was no issue at all. The customer service agent took some info and them emailed me the pdf that outlined the steps that you described here. Thanks again!

    Just wanted to add my "thank-you" for posting this. I did as you suggested and chatted up an agent at their website and they took my info and said they will replace my defective unit (I purchased mine from Amazon in Sep. 2018). It's great that Frigidaire is still replacing these lemons 4 years later. 👍

      Update: They shipped the new unit a week after I submitted my claim but they did not email a tracking number so I just found out today it was waiting for me at my ship-to address when I went to retrieve another item. Anyway, it seems like a decent replacement and I'm happy with the quick response by Frigidaire. I just wish they would have advised that my claim was approved and sent a tracking number.

    I came to UA-cam looking for troubleshooting help with an F0 fault and my dehumidifier was three years old. I never would have thought that Frigidaire would have a 5 year warranty on a $200 product. Due to your video, I did I a quick chat with Frigidaire and have received a replacement unit. Thanks for your video and to Frigidaire for standing behind their product.

    My dehumidifier was 4 1/2 years old. Have been trying to get it to work (even during the 15 minutes it took for the "F0" error code to appear, it wasn't working properly, almost certainly from a condenser leak). I was searching for any possible way to get it to work, and stumbled upon your video. I had emailed Electrolux/Frigidaire several months ago, with no response, and was at the point of buying a new unit. Three days ago (May 11, 2021) I contacted them via chat as you suggest. As in your case, a few minutes later I was done. After I completed their requirements and emailing it all, I received an email response within 2 hours telling me to expect a replacement unit within 10 working days. Wow. How often does something work out this well??? Thanks for saving me $200+ bucks! You sir, are a scholar and a gentleman!

    I had the FO code on my dehumidifier and contacted Frigidaire on August 31, 2020 - the absolutely free new dehumidifier came on Sept. 3, 2020. Thanks for posting your solution!!

    This was very helpful! I think I have the same issue. It looks like the old model is no longer an item Frigidaire currently sells. The grey model is so much nicer in appearance and quality.

    Thanks for the tip, called the customer support and I am in the process of sending them the required info to receive a replacement. This is my 2 years old 2nd Frigidaire Dehumidifier giving the same F0 error, I have trashed the 1st one and was searching for another brand replacement when I came across your video. My brother in-law loaned me his old GE which is working like a champ. I will not buy Frigidaire product in the future.
    Updates: Received the replacement yesterday (1 week after submitting the required documentations).

    Thanks so much for this video. This is my second Frigidaire unit in 9 years. The first unit froze up and died due to a known problem. It was replaced under warranty. The current unit from 2017 has the dreaded FO code but, to my surprise, is still under warranty! I did the live chat and started the process exactly as you described. It's nice to still have companies stand behind their products. Saved me a couple hundred dollars!

    Called them up since chat was not working for some reason. Within 15 min I had the warranty claim in my email ready to go.
    With out this I would have spent alot of time and effort trying to fix it and eventually just buy a new one.

    Yes, our humidifier showed the FO. Error without cause, I did the Chat this past Wed. And we have a new unit this Saturday. Thank you... now to test the new unit-very different from the one that failed. IT has a drum vs other tech inside. We’ll see. We have to hook it up to a condensate pump so we’ll see how it works in high humidity.

    I had this code and followed this. It worked for about 30 mins and the had the code again. I ended up taking a shop vac and besides ensuring everything inside was clean, i placed the shop vac hose over the small sensor located towards the top of the back (little white sensor). This appears to have resolved the issue as it has been running for a few days without issue. Recommendation: if cleaning this small air sensor, vacuum it out versus just wiping it down.

    Ours did the same thing. I watched this video yesterday, and did the website Live Chat. The unit was 3.5 years old, and they sent me the same replacement form. Free replacement is supposed to be delivered in 10 days.

    I had a near identical situation with the same two units. I was very happy with the old one. It lasted nearly 5 years. Fortunately it flashed the FO error code just 2 weeks before the 5 year mark. That was dumb luck. I used the recommended procedure and got a free replacement. Likewise I hated the fan opening on top. What a brainstorm. And sure enough, the unit failed with an EC error code after less than 6 months. I managed to get that one replaced. Now the replacement has failed with the EC code after barely 4 months.

    Very helpful. I have the exact same unit and only just today experienced the F0 code just prior to the 5 year warrantee expiration. I had purchased the unit in 2017 after extensive research, and really liked the unit, sharing many of this owner's perspectives on it. It is 2022, and hope to have a positive experience with Frigidaire, as this owner did. Hopefully they still maintain a free replacement policy , but I hope also that they do not send me an inferior unit, as they seem to have done with this owner.

    Thanks for the info. My dehumidifier had the same code and I called Frigidaire and they sent me the forms to fill out. They just looked up the serial number and said they would send me a new one as soon as they get the forms back. They must being having some real issues with theses. Thanks.

    Thanks. I"m going to pursue a replacement. This is the third Frigidaire dehumidifier (same model as yours) that failed on me with a F0 error. Frigidaire replaced my first and the replacement later failed with F0. My daughter-in-law gave me hers, which she never even took out of the box, and that Frigidaire (same model as yours and mine) just failed with a F0 error code. I definitely would not buy a Frigidaire dehumidifier again. By the way, I got a real kick out of seeing all those license plates on your car, each from a different state but all having "741" somewhere on the plate!

    This really helped me. After 2 months of trying to contact them they are finally sending a new unit. An important oversight on my part was that the Chat button is way over on the right of the webpage. I kept trying to click on the words that say "Chat" in the area that describes chatting for support. I am very frustrated with this company. I agree with the author of this video that the old unit is much better, except it doesnt work.

      Follow up. Almost a month and a dozen chat sessions later, I still don’t have a replacement unit! They sent me a 22pt to replace a 70pt. Then they tried to send me a 50pt unit and someone there cancelled it because they they it was a duplicate order! What an f’d up company. No wonder they’re closing plants.

    I suspect that those units were built in two different places. I spent 30 years in the plastics industry and I see exactly the difference in quality. When you receive black injection molded plastic anything, the odds are pretty good that the plastic itself was used form excess plastic or scraps and reground to be used over. Thirty years ago, there was a Frigidaire plant about 20 minutes from here in Edison, NJ. I used to work there sometimes as an outside contractor. Now it's a Costco and other shops. Got taken down about 15 years ago.

    I've went thru 5, yes 5 of the Frigidaire 30 pint models. After a year I got the FO fault. The company replaced 4 of them and it was obvious the compressor unit failed on them all. Now I'm on my 5th one and it too failed, but now after 2 years. Same problem compressor unit failure. These things are junk but at least the company stands behind their product. I've had other makes and models of dehumidifiers in the past some that lasted 20 years! I'm amazed that Frigidaire can make money on a product so poorly made that it needs repeated replacement.

    Thanks for the video. I've lost count of how many Frigidaire dehumidifiers I've replaced either under warranty or recall over the last 10 years. I'd guess it's at least six. It's a disgrace, and I can't understand why they haven't fixed these F0 issues by now. Is this really good business? One thing I know for sure, I will avoid every buying a Frigidaire/Electrolux unit in the future. But as long as they keep sending me replacements, I may not have to!
    BTW, your cellar looks pretty pristine compared to mine. These units have bigger problems than dirt!

    HAAAA! As promised, this is a follow up comment. After 4 attempts using the chat I was told it was only for US citizen (even if I accessed it from the Canadian website??). I was given a phone number, called 6 times. They had problems with the files access and their phone system all that time. Had to go through the process twice because my infos were lost and no ticket was found for me. Finally, I received an email for return. Was told I would be reimbursed but with no taxes. Was sent a digital MC number. It did not work. Had to reach them again (now 10 times) to make it work. Was told it was for security reason. Try to use it on Amazon for product did not work but it did word for Amazon refill card..?? So I went with this and was able redeem it this weekend. So thanks for your post otherwise I would never have thought I could be reimbursed for an item purchased 2 years ago. If you are in the same situation, hang in there, be persistent and you will get compensated eventually. tx ☮

    Hi - I am on my second unit. I purchased unit in 2018 -- installed Nov 2018. I had a replacement unit for F0 code sent to me sometime in 2019. I am not getting F0 code on the replacement unit. At this point, I don't think i'd ever buy a frigidaire unit again!

    I purchased the 70 pint model January 18, 2017. It died after one summer but received a free replacement from Frigidaire. Just yesterday the replacement unit has stopped working and the display shows F0. Two failed dehumidifiers in less than 4 years.

    2022 update. The chat with Fridgedaire is very easy and simple,thanks to this video,but they did not say to cut the cord this year, but to keep it intact, until I hear more. They are not replacing the 70 pint with a 70 pint, they claim because of new energy standards. I had to agree to a 50 pint unit. Also, the replacement will only be warranted for 90 days or through the end of the old one’s warrantee.

      I live in CT...the hawaii plate is a prop...take a close look at it. But if you want to swap, you can have my high taxes!

    I sent in my email with the documents on Dec. 16th. Form didn't ask for pictures of the code or cutting the cord. Didn't get an auto-reply either...at this point my form won't be eligible since it has almost been 30 days. Did you mail it in or email?

    Thanks, very helpful video. I just got my replacement unit due to the F0 code. I completely agree with your assessment of the older version having the better design. But the replacement has been working well for the past few days. Curious if you have had any issues developing with the replacement unit since you posted this video 3 years ago?

      Yes- the replacement only lasted about a year before suffering the same problem. They would not replace the replacement so I bought a completely different type of unit this time

      I'm not sure there is a sensor...the filter reset may just be a time thing. Check the manual to be sure...

    Hey! Great video! Just got our 50 pint replacement for a 70 pint, and I’m disappointed they didn’t send the 60 pint instead, as this would be closer to the capacity of the older one than the 50 pint. What is your take on the abilities of the 50 pint over the 70 pint from a dehumidifying standpoint?

    I feel i need to warn you that your replacement is just like the one I purchased in July of 2020. I almost got hot enough to start on fire just the other day, so I unplugged it and waited until the next day and plugged it back in and it came on instantly without pushing the start button. It also made a strange noise and started to get hot again. I called Frigidaire and they said they would replace it, but I needed my receipt. I'm still looking for it. So, please keep an eye on yours.
