I've gotten pretty good and sick of playing against Meren decks by this point, since it always feels like you have to throw everything, including the kitchen sink, at them in order to get them to stay down.
@@infamous0ne789 For having done just this - it's insane. If nobody has a response instantly, it's basically over. The CA and board control you get from it is incredible.
I recently added Cavalier of Night to my Meren deck. It's that powerful. It was also what kept Cheryl at bay, never allowing her to untap with her eldrazi.
I was confident that this would be a combo win again as soon as Jeremy tutored for Viscera Seer with Buried Alive. Surprisingly, he didn't have an infinite combo along with it.
Am the the only one who thinks kruphix looks like a dude chilling downstairs at 3 am in a hoodie eating 23 chicken nuggets with 4 arms because he couldn't eat them fast enough with 2?
I thinking sac effects are way too powerful right now in magic, nothing punishes that strategy well enough. There is a need for a bit more incidental graveyard hate I think
man I just went to my first commander night at my LGS and felt massively overwhelmed, but it would've been much worse if not for your content, so thanks
I said aloud "does he realize spore frog doesn't work on Malignus? As a Xenabro myself, cards like Maze of Ith are a major problem for the deck so I see Malignus's second ability as super important.
Yeah I made a mental note to decide on the merits of Cavalier of Night for Meren when the cycle was spoiled. Just seeing the play pattern actually realized for the first time now. And yeah, I'm sold on it for if/when I eventually rebuild her. I'll just have to be sure to put in more free sac outlets for the nrw build (the previous one relied on self-saccing ramp creatures) [Not directly relevant, but I think instead of the wincon being Bloodsport Thrinax or Pathbreaker Ibex with Avenger of Zendikar, the next time will be built with more self-mill, Black Market and a few X spells?)
Can someone explain how the beefed up Bane with double strike did no damage? I understand it didn't have trample but wouldn't that only stop the 'first strike' part of double strike?
I don't really understand Connor's deck brew for Omnath. For me it's either elemental tribal or landfall triggers, not generic token deck. It's easier for him to use Raddha since he can build so much value with the tokens
I miss commander. My playgroup jumped ship to oath breaker and my region is so small that we literally are the only big commander scene around. Well, I guess oath breaker scene now.
Hey Muddstah, love your videos but can you not shrink the pre-view cards so small. I can't read that fast and have to pause the video every time a new card is played. If you can make the shrunken pre-view card a bit bigger "maybe just covering up the commander cards" then that would help me a lot. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
Me: When you play that deck that nets you everyone's hate or just hated because your dangerous in general. Also me: Spends all your resources out of sheer spite to take out that opponents knees but effectively handing the game to the other player. Literally every game with my oldest buddies these days.
Lol, I thought that Tomer was being a bit of a try hard at first, but Jeremy just had to complain about being targeted and then suddenly started murdering people that weren't involved in the game at all. Talk about a stab in the back, but hey, that's just how it goes sometimes I guess. I'm glad Tomer won.
Meren players really shouldn't be surprised when they get targeted. A single round of setup is literally all it takes to suck up all the fun from the rest of the table.
why didn't Jeremy answer sneak attack with Dictate of Erebos? if he did, Tomer would not be able to activate sneak attack in response to the dictate trigger... a huge missplay he had the game on the bag
@@tomerabramovici32 you had no sneak attack yet! if he flashed in dictate when you casted sneak and sacrificed the frog you would be forced to sac malignus
She should've used Terastodon's trigger on the other opponents' permanents. Maybe even one of her own lands, so she'd have a blocker for Terastodon itself during the extra turn.
I don't think I've ever seen a worse magic match than this one. The Meren player passes turn with SPORE FROG on the battlefield instead of making 1 experience first. The Xenagos player kills the Meren's player creatures to gain him free experience and attacks into Spore Frog to make even more experience and gain absolutely nothing. The Emrakul player steals a turn and does nothing useful with that. The Meren player reanimates Spore Frog vs a Malignus. Also someone wastes removal on Spore Frog or Sakura Tribe Elder... Wtf all this, it made me extremely angry. Worst match in magic's history.
"Goblin Trashmaster" ah yes, finally a creature from Magic I can relate to.
Mugiwara Lee when I play it I call it goblin your mom master
I never expect combat tricks in edh. Good showing all around. Jeremy reminded me why I run so much graveyard hate in my decks. Dude was going off.
I've gotten pretty good and sick of playing against Meren decks by this point, since it always feels like you have to throw everything, including the kitchen sink, at them in order to get them to stay down.
Note to self: Get Cavalier of Night for Meren.
No kidding, it pulled major weight in this game. I would imagine getting back eternal witness each turn can be back breaking.
@@infamous0ne789 For having done just this - it's insane. If nobody has a response instantly, it's basically over. The CA and board control you get from it is incredible.
Ah, good old Temur battle rage! Such a ridiculously good card! 😁
I recently added Cavalier of Night to my Meren deck. It's that powerful. It was also what kept Cheryl at bay, never allowing her to untap with her eldrazi.
So happy to see that Tomer and I are Xenabros ❤️
Sometimes you just gottta SMASH
I'll never get tired of Ashlen Rose's goblin launch.
I was confident that this would be a combo win again as soon as Jeremy tutored for Viscera Seer with Buried Alive.
Surprisingly, he didn't have an infinite combo along with it.
Spore Frog is why I run Questing Beast now in my Xenogos deck.
Am the the only one who thinks kruphix looks like a dude chilling downstairs at 3 am in a hoodie eating 23 chicken nuggets with 4 arms because he couldn't eat them fast enough with 2?
You are not
Viven can +1 without targeting any creatures, as the ability says "up to one target", so it can be zero.
might been for luls.
It was for the luls
I loved that Tomer won, I am really tired of Meren and graveyard effects. Also I loved that Malignus sneaking through fogs.
I thinking sac effects are way too powerful right now in magic, nothing punishes that strategy well enough. There is a need for a bit more incidental graveyard hate I think

Southpaw__ how was the game(s)?
@@Jjdude101 really fun, thanks for asking. though I realized my brew was rather bad lol. I've been back another time since, and had even more fun
Southpaw__ so glad to hear! EDH is definitely one of the best formats to play especially for all kinds of players
That viscera seer dying just for scrying hurt me.
I love the Meren deck played on the Earl of the Squirrel mat!
I see Meren... I click its that simple
10:42 "She then casts kodama's reach, because she clearly needs more mana" had me dying xD
Always hyped to see how Xenagos plays !

Cav of night just seems crazy in meren the rec sage or fierce empath loops can get you a lot of advantage
I will not stop commenting on every vid until my eyes lay upon a krenko video

More like Tomer battle rage amirite
**ducks**
Cavalier of Night has crazy reanimation value. I play him and the Cavalier of Flame in my Chainer, Nightmare Adept deck
I love the big green angry jelly bean favorite card in magic
Oh no, now we have the "Oh face" in the thumbnail. UA-cam i hate yooooou!!
i love Omnath!, the goblin strat was different though but it looks fun
@mtgmuddstah when you putting up that Korvath deck list from a few weeks back?
I don't really understand Connor's deck brew for Omnath. For me it's either elemental tribal or landfall triggers, not generic token deck. It's easier for him to use Raddha since he can build so much value with the tokens
Yeah I also asked myself bacause omnath makes no sense in his deck. I play Omnath myself as Land-trigger Deck and it makes a lot of fun.
Every time I use goblin bombardment I say “goblin launch detected” in that voice. Really annoying when I’m going infinite with it.
Wait so at 6:08, wouldn't the bane of progress have destroyed xenagos as well cause it's an enchantment creature?
All gods in the Theros Block are indestructible.
Xenagos, like all of the Theros god cards, is indestructible.
Should've revived Viscera* Seer instead of froggo at the end.
What were the correct targets for Terastodon?
I miss commander. My playgroup jumped ship to oath breaker and my region is so small that we literally are the only big commander scene around. Well, I guess oath breaker scene now.
Love that Meren deck

UM??? You’re local to Oakville? Ive been watching you for a good 4 months now and I only learn this now
HOLY SHIT BRO COMIC CONNNECTION IS LIKE 5 MIN AWAY FROM ME WTFF

Jelly Bean for gobbos? How very interesting. It's like Wort did a switcheroo :P
Who’s the Greek god in the video thumbnail? Is he a preview from the new Theros set? 🤔
I love so much watching your games guys
Is that THE Tomer? :O
Nice finish!
Why everyone dont like m20, probably the best m set. So many great cards, cool commander options. Its because of its name.
malignus and cavalier were my favorite in this game
Thumbnail includes face reveal, sweet. :3
How did malignus kill Connor? I thought malignus rounded down, so 36 damage.
It says on the card "rounded up".
Lol, I thought that Tomer was being a bit of a try hard at first, but Jeremy just had to complain about being targeted and then suddenly started murdering people that weren't involved in the game at all. Man. Those are such old commanders
Oldies but goodies.
Wouldn’t kruphix/Xenagos have been blown up by bane of progress?
they're both indestructible. all gods from that set are indestructible so they were safe
I NEED that xenagos list
Xenagos god of revenge can make you huge target or make a game turn 3 v 1
Was hoping Tomer lost
Decklist for Xenagos?
It's up now!
With Tomer’s head in the way on the thumbnail, I’ll never know what the first Commander is! 😭
It could be anything!
It's ix
But spore frog? How did Tomer even hit Jeremy.
Malignus does not allow damage to be prevented.
Malignus's second ability "Damage from Malignus can't be prevented"
@@mrsilverbutton7786 Yea I read, didn't understand at first, I looked up the cards, that seems like a very dangerous card.
Omnath Decklist?
Had to double check when heard "hepatite talisman"
Hello Chanel! Do you want a Play Golos tireless piligrim from M20? I think it’s very interesting commander
If that meren player had necrotic ooze combo he could’ve dumped it off with Buried alive and won that way pretty easy
Everytime I give a single opponent 3 elephants I die to those elephants. I think playing Terastodon without blowing anything would've been better.
Jeremy was unstoppable so long as he could keep replay Meren every time she dies, so I could see the reasoning for destroying his lands.
Malignus mvc!
Hmmm I think Connor likes goblins
why didn't Jeremy answer sneak attack with Dictate of Erebos?
if he did, Tomer would not be able to activate sneak attack in response to the dictate trigger... a huge missplay he had the game on the bag
If he did then I sacrifice Thunderfoot Baloth and still win with Malignus.
@@tomerabramovici32 you had no sneak attack yet!

Connor did not want to share her deck list cause the Omnath deck sucks
Xenagos is a good commander
Made him a few months ago, he is very fun and competitive! One of my faves currently.
Infamous 0ne took me awhile to make a xenagos deck n it’s a goblin n I can make a lot of tokens if I get the right cards
Im a bit late but is anyone else genuinely confused by the Omnath deck?
The Kruphix player, should not cast Meren's Terastodon, He loses the game because of that
She should've used Terastodon's trigger on the other opponents' permanents. Maybe even one of her own lands, so she'd have a blocker for Terastodon itself during the extra turn.
What is this for an Omnath Deck? All the time mistakes and playing Goblins??? Why? Is there Ramp in this Deck?
I hate Meren so much. It’s pretty much an auto-leave for me on MTGO
What a terrible Goblinath deck... and wtf that Cruphix does?

UP
"Worst match in magic's history." I seriously doubt that that's true.
Close to it at least
If nothing else, “Humpus Wumpus” trumps this match in silliness ten times over.
Plz no clickbait thumbnails
I didn't realize Tomer's face was clickbait. I'll keep that in mind.
