OK, now I can see why Jamie gets so much negative reviews. If you are going to call it "Tex-Mex" it needs a lot more salt, pepper, chili powder, and coriander. I am trying to figure out how this is spicy as nothing in that dish is spicy at all. Also the yogurt addition at the end is pretty much a middle finger to numerous cultures. If you wanted a sauce, I can think of an easy one hmm I am thinking IT IS IN THE BOTTOM OF THE CASSEROLE DISH he used.
He's missing a bunch of ingredients, not to make the dish more delicious, but to make it able to be called "Tex-Mex". This would've been a nice little dish if he didn't say it's Tex-Mex style, but he did, and he's encouraging people to try it. It's good to develop recipes like this, and it's perfectly fine to make dishes healthier as well, but that just doesn't mean you can make the dish in whatever way you want to... When will he understand that?
@@林宥霆 Its not even healthier: Olive Oil over Lard, or Gee, or Tallow. Greek Yogurt over literally any other dairy sauce. Red Wine Vinegar instead of limes. No Chili or Pepper selection (higher vitamin C content than even citrus). The only thing this recipe is, is stuff he had on hand when we got in that morning and needed to make a video. If he'd presented the video in that regard -- we'd be peachy -- but he didn't, instead passing it off that these ingredients were deliberate choices that he prepared and acquired for the dish. These ingredients are staples of his recipes, and he should communicate that he is doing so (which, would be ultimately better for his stated mission in doing these videos in the first place). If anyone would like authentic, or healthy, or just good Mexican Food, and you need an influencer to direct you, look to Chef @rickbayless .
3:51 and I'm once again like "Jamie really does not have any feeling in his fingers at this point..." xD like that tray just came out of a 200°C oven it was still steaming hot and he just putting it off the board with his bare fingers even if it was just for a few seconds
Disappointing results. The done-ness of the chicken and onions was good, however flavor and salt were MIA, and I got zero flavor from the "healthy" tortillas. I'll try it again, with a higher onion to chicken ratio, and "unhealthy" tortillas, and maybe add additional herbs for flavor. Sorry, for me, this recipe was not good eats on the first try. *****Amended review****: The learning was that the onions and tomato pieces need to out number the chicken pieces. I increased the salt content from a "kiss" to a "snog." Also the "low carb" tortillas I used the first time were replaced with 3/4 white 1/4 wheat flour tortillas I made myself. Much better the second time. As amended, this one has been upgraded to a keeper after climbing up the learning curve a bit.
Hello, Oliver! I watch your videos with pleasure, I just want to eat everything through the screen! we pass you at school in English. Now you are my favorite cook!💫
I love Jamie and his cooking but I'm in Germany and for red wine vinieger I went for Rotweinessig and I have to say after cooking it doesn't smell good even though the taste of the chickens weren't that bad. I didn't like it and don't recommend it :)

Jamie, you and your team need to research more when making food from other cultures. This is in no way considered Tex Mex by anyone that knows what Tex Mex is. It actually offends me that you would call this Tex Mex. You have misled everyone into thinking what Tex Mex is. I normally don't comment on cooking videos but this video is so wrong I had to say something. Your missing the spices like cumin, chili powder, to just name two. Never and I mean never would anyone use yogurt in Tex Mex. Its either crema or sour cream at least. They make a light sour cream to keep it healthier. Now if anyone in the comments would to try actual Tex Mex they will have a completely different experience and might be upset with what they get. Do better next time and research.
My 13 year old daughter was so excited to make this. So we read the reviews and made it for dinner. We did add additional seasoning to the chicken and veggies that were going to roast in the oven. We added mace, oregano, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. We didn't have corn on the cob as it is not in season right now. So we drained and browned canned corn. Also, we only had boneless chicken breast and flour tortillas. It was delicious!!!! We loved it!!! We will make it again!
Love love loved it! Yammy! You did a good job, Jamie! Bravo to u & your crew! That was the tastiest chicken tray bake i have ever seen! Wow! AWE-SOME! Thanks! Best wishes from Sweden.
You could have made this actual tex mex making it even healthier since lime adds vitamins. As many said, the dish itself was probably good but also not tex mex at all.
Something is not right here. Either Jamie Oliver just does zero research on his videos or whoever is running his channel is just messing up the titles and has no idea what is going on.
Dang there’s actual people on here that like this!! Haha don’t get me wrong it might be delicious but it’s not tex Mex mate! Do your research before butchering cuisines my guy this is terrible smh
This is not tex-mex at all. Where’s the cumin? No salsa? No pico? And why are you using butter of lettuce? Tex-mex is not designed to be made healthy. No wonder your restaurants failed. Maybe you should visit the regions for the cuisine you make.
Yikes. Nothing about this is "tex-mex". Research could be improved. Please at least work with a disclaimer if you're not going to authentically represent something. No cheese involved, sour cream, no chile powder, or chipotle, cumin or anything at all associated with the cuisine? And yet you're gonna tell the audience this is accurate...
there is nothing tex mex about this. If you want to make this dish cool, just don't call it tex mex. you have a very bad habit about either calling something a particular cultures dish or taking a cultures dish and screwing it up to no end. you are giving wrong information to thousands of people and need to stop.

Wa-wa-wa-wait........Greek yorgurt.......ON A TEX-MEX DISH??????!!!!!!!!!!!
It's Jamie Oliver, the king of cooking misinformation.
@@johnnysinssexmaster Yep, 100%.
This is proof that Jamie doesn’t have Texan or Mexican friends. BTW…I’m a native born Texan with LOTS of Mexican friends.
@ColoredRocks69 - Bet you have lots of friends. 😏
Chili powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper would have gone a long way to help that dish.
Hi James Oliver, thanks for the cool recipes
Tex Mex?
I am shaking my head.
t. Texan
Tex Mex dish without instant cheese? Not legit.
What cheese is not instant?
I use avocado and cream cheese 😉🙋🏽♀️🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦from Panama
I will try this one day

A definite trial for me❤🎉
There is nothing Texan or Mexican about this. You cannot call this TexMex.
Uncle Rodger wont approve
Man, that looks delish! I think this dish is worth a try! Thanks for sharing this recipe, Jamie!

As I watched, did seem like it needed more salt! Thanks for confirming
Absolutely amazing dish. I have made it vegan. Just change the chicken to a good quality white Tofu and a nice splash of soy sauce. Thank you Jamie!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
There are literally vegan variations of legit Mexican food which taste a lot better.
Vegan doesn't mean you have to add tofu to everything
Hello, Oliver! I watch your videos with pleasure, I just want to eat everything through the screen! we pass you at school in English. Now you are my favorite cook!💫
Why is there no marination time?
No chili jam? Not legit.
😅😅😅😅 You saw that too?
Love it!! Gracias por todos tus tips!! 😋😉😁😀😄

it isnt texmex
Sounds good 🍀
Where the pepper? Where the salt? Where the flavour?
Jamie better hope that the cartel doesn’t see this video……
😂😂😂😂😂
Anyone else feeling their fingers burn just from watching? 3:49 🥵
Nah, those thin trays cool down real quick once out of the oven. Wouldn’t try it with a Le Creuset though..
Like it. Yummy.
Love all your recipes. With meat or without. Please keep sharing them with everyone. Happy Holidays.

Looks so good.
This looks awesome! 😋. Which book was this from?
Definitely not a tex mex book

Delicious? Yes.
Tex-Mex? No.
This is 0% tex mex.
Thanks you for that yumm I love it so much 😋👍👍👍👍
Beautiful and delicious and definetly making it.
This man is on a mission to insult every cuisine out there.
Dear lord, how is this "Tex Mex"? It is as Tex Mex as using rice in dish and calling it Chinese.
So delicious 😋 😍

Where’s the avocado ? 🥑🥑🥑🥑 lol
No cheese, chilli, salt, pepper, no beans, no lard, *where's the Tex-Mex Jamie?*
Cheese and beans and sour cream are necessary for Tex Mex
Looks fabulous! Thanks Jamie and crew.
Put my chicken 200 C, everything like in the recipe. Took out in 45 mins, on the bottom full of liquid. Onion boiled. Why could it happen?
💖💖💖💖
This isn't texmex. This is terrible.
This is NOT Tex Mex, does he do any research before he makes a video?

Okay I’ll admit the dish looks good but WHY DID U CALL IT TEXMEX WHEN THERES BARELY ANYTHING TEXMEX IN THE DISH
NO… 🤦🏻♀️ I’m Mexican 😢 I’m sure it’s really good but don’t call this Tex Mex 💔
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😍😍😍😍😍😍
Something is not right here. Either Jamie Oliver just does zero research on his videos or whoever is running his channel is just messing up the titles and has no idea what is going on.
This is more Greek or Mediterranean than Tex Mex.
What in the HELL is wrong with Jamie Oliver?? This is a travesty.

This is about as tex-mex as borscht
👌🔥🔥
I think this guy is the reason why the whole world thinks that brits can't cook.
They can't.
NOT TEX MEX!!
Ring on the finger while cooking, icky. Not washing the tomatoes, icky. Using the pan - all happens in one tray (: whyyyyyyyy
😪😪
Stop cooking
Just..... Cool lol😉💪
Yamy 😋
Once sgain butchered something authentic. Just stick to fish and chips mate . Or just dont teach this to people and giving them false information
