In Argentine we do that on almost every song of every band or artist lol It's great but I think that it has to be something normal, the standar for crowds.
They’d have to mime their instruments. Super Bowl policy. It would take too long to set-up and sound check the equipment, so they play to a pre-recorded track, with only the vocals live. RHCP did it, it wasn’t good
No that's just not true at all. He isn't able anymore to hit those notes correctly. Also the intonation is not the same it was back then. Just compare the original version (or the one from Royal Albert Hall) to this one
The Killers were my absolute jam when I was a kid! I remember blasting this song and Mr. Brightside on my MP3 player 🤣 Their music just had this energy that got me hooked from the start. It's crazy how their songs can still transport me back to those carefree days of my youth. I wish there were more bands like them around now, the only band now that give me that feeling is The Doublejumps. It's a band from my home country (New Zealand). Highly recommend.
It funny cause watching this now 20 years after seeing them the first time I’m thinking with these performances they have passed into the world of immortal artists. They obviously have the acceptance of the new generation that will see them out till they die
Nothing better than revisiting a band you listened to many years ago and seeing them play live, and they still look, sound, and perform great. And don’t complain about having to play “old songs”. They love their career and keep that train rolling. A beautiful thing. By the way I’m watching this because my cousins and I are performing this at my sister’s wedding next week 😂 ROCK ON
has to be one of the best rock songs ever recorded. i'm not even a big killers fan but i accompanied my dad to see them in London years ago and they blew the fucking roof off. absolutely incredible live and the memory of the atmosphere of when they played this song will remain with me. Seeing my dad enjoying it like a teenager and jumping around was so amazing. It was like i got to hang out with my dad in the 70s just for one evening haha Love ya pops !
I heard this song the first year it came out in 7th grade and I’ve loved them ever since. It’s my road trip vibe song. One of my regrets in life is that I’ll probably never get to hear this song live because they don’t play anywhere close to me, and it’s 2024 and I can barely afford to survive so I damn sure can’t afford a 1000 mile trip.
I once seen them live in Germany. You know what - they did the most incredible thing. They came out straight with all lights on just to start with Mr Brightside, it was magical moment. Brandon later said he wanted to play with all the lights on in the whole arena just to see each and every one of us. Ended of to be one of the best gigs I have ever attended…obviously.
Saw them live this year, first time and I would go again! Took my boyfriend who only knows bright side and when you were young. He loved the show and said he would go again. Now he’s got the set list saved on his phone so 😂 think I’ve changed him!
Thank you Guitar Hero for giving me the love for Rock , this song is timeless in my playlist 10+ years later . This is so nostalgic man , makes us miss those days , WHEN YOU .. WERE YOOOOUUUUNG !
This looks like an amazing festival!! This is a huge amount of nostalgia. It still sounds great and doesn't feel like 17yrs has passed. It's still my favorite TK song, though I do love Mr Brightside ofc.

It's amazing to me how Matpat can make such amazing theory videos and also be the lead singer of this band. How does he manage the video making while he tours?
Hot Fuss came out almost 20 years ago, Sam's Town a couple of years later. It's crazy that the bands of my youth - Radiohead, Killers, Coldplay, Muse - are still some of the biggest draws and headliners today. But I'm very happy to see that plenty of kids still have taste and don't just buy the frankly awful chart music that's around now...
You know a song is truly great when the crowd sings along to the guitar riff
In Argentine we do that on almost every song of every band or artist lol It's great but I think that it has to be something normal, the standar for crowds.
@@devvvian I 100% agree, mate! Cheers from your neighbor hehe I'm from Brazil!
The Killers are simply timeless! What a great performance!
The whole set was awesome.
I just turn 20. Way better than today's music
@@koloeskiyazzie7394you’re gay. I mean that in the derogatory way.
They would be a perfect Super Bowl Band. It’s in Vegas and they have songs everyone has at least heard of

RHCP did it, it wasn’t good
It’s a shame they broke up 😢
@@emmanuelbongar7370 Is that a change? Because the Tom Petty superbowl performance way back when was fantastic. No way was it mimed.
@@randallpetersen9164 Nope. He still mimed it. Even Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson mimed their performances.
They’re so freaking good even 20 years on

Try and play on a real guitar.

One of the best songs ever, so euphoric and nostalgic, truly a 00's song
Thank you BBC for The Killers.. This song takes me back in time... over a decade.. They were great back then and are still today!
Made my day 😊
This song takes us back almost 18 years!
One of the greatest songs of all time. Period.
the killers are at that phase like an 80's band performing their hits in the mid 2000's
You mean like a 00’s band in the mid 20’s? Or like a 90’s band in the 10’s?
Oof. That made me feel ancient.
Aye like the human league did
Not really
They play what they think the crowd want to hear. 👍
Brandon is a perfect frontman he’s got so much talent
Thanks BBC, but we want FULL Show !
Probably will be on iPlayer
It already is on iPlayer yeah
@@duggs4456they didn’t show the full set missed out 5 songs including read my mind and spaceman
Full set uploaded would be great, need Glastonbury 2019 whilst you’re at it too.
@@wilfer11 that's great except for those of us who don't happen to live over there.
Brandon is better now than back in the day. His voice is more tuned.

Yeah this performance sounded way off, not a fan of this one to be honesy

Quintessential Killers. Amazing set, and my favourite song performed to perfection. Lovely stuff.
Hot Fuss is an impeccable debut album. I was 30 something when it came out!
WYWY was on Sam’s Town. But yes hot fuss is legendary!!
The first 5 songs of Hot Fuss are the best opening 5 songs from a debut album that I can think of
They are amazing live in concert . ❤🎉🎼🎶🎵🥁🎤🎺
