The BEST Burble Tune Settings For YOU With MHD Tuning
Вставка
- Опубліковано 9 чер 2024
- There aren’t any good videos out there that show what each burble setting sounds like, so I decided to show each burble aggressiveness setting as well as different durations so that you can choose exactly what setting you want for your car without having to flash it over and over. For reference, my exhaust is stock except for a catless DP. I hope this video is helpful!

Thanks for taking the time to do this video, for what it's worth, I go with OEM 2 sec duration in sport and 1 sec in normal, but then again I am over 50
No problem! And that’s the beauty of being able to customize it to your preferences! Is your exhaust stock? I could see liking the OEM burbles a little more if I didn’t have a muffler/resonator
I've got an N55 with catless DP,, N54 midpipe, and stock backbox, wouldn't mind a bit more volume, so thinking of sports cats (200 cell) in place of the stock N54 cats (600cell)@@JasonJoyrides
Very helpful for when I start modding!!
With a name like @E82N55 sounds like this is literally the channel for you lol I’ve got a lot of basic mods coming that anyone can do and am always open to suggestions!
Good vid bro! Good job for making this videos even though u don’t like the crack and pops.
Yeah man of course. I made it for all the people that like me when I was looking for a video that compared all the burble tunes but disappointed not to find one. I see why no one made it before though because it was a lot of work lol
Always coming in clutch with the videos! Thanks alot man, glad you came to the 1 series community !
I’m so glad you like my videos! Please let me know if there is a topic you would like me to make a video about. I’m all about answering questions
@@JasonJoyridesdeff it has to be upgrading the angel eyes to LUX H8 , I want to do it in mines but cant find a video on it explaining where to put the box so it wont interupt the adaptive headlights
@@jose092596 wow that looks so much better than the yellow halos. Those are definitely going on the future mod list.
@@JasonJoyridesway better, really changes the look of the car, dont forget to make a video on it ! lol
@2596 did you buy from amazon or straight from Lux's site? Did you watch Elliot Brooks's video on them? He mentions putting them inside the housing with double sided tape.
I hope this video helps you decide which burble setting you like best without having to flash your car over and over! Which one would you go with? I went with soft at .7s in sport and none in base.
This is such a great video. When I tune my M235i, I will probably do Soft 2sec sport, 1 sec comfort.
Glad it helped you decide what you want to go with or at least a better idea of where it start!
MVP!!
Smart video to make
Thanks alot for making this video bro!
Glad you found it! Any other videos you would find helpful for me to make?
@@JasonJoyrides maybe a comparison of the mhd v1.60 & v1.84 maps. I go back and forth between stage 1 v1.84 & stage 1+ v1.60 and I notice a bit of a difference in daily driving but I've never had a chance, or an area for that matter, to do some consistent comparisons.
@@base1y hmmm interesting. I didn’t notice a difference myself but I didn’t leave them on for long and assumed the 1.84 would probably be better since that’s why MHD released them. What differences have you noticed in daily driving?
@@JasonJoyrides stage 1+ v1.60 I feel like the turbo kicks in a little earlier around 2k where as with stage 1 v1.84 it's at about 2.5k. Also, with v1.84 the power seems to feel like a kick in the back and then taper off in the higher rev ranges whereas v1.60 it comes on more smoothly and lasts higher in the revs. I have a BMS intake and Speedlogic turbo inlet pipe so that may account for something 🤷. I've been rolling around with stage 1 v1.84 mostly because in "comfort mode" it shifts earlier and seems to be better on gas and I don't mind flicking the paddle a couple of times if I need to make a quick pass.
I agree, I run 2+ and prefer 1.60 as it seems to spool up quicker and a more linear power as opposed to the mad rush of boost in 1.84@@base1y
Same settings for me. Exactly the same. Sounds similar to the mppks pkg the car came with
When you have catless dp with straight mid section and m performance back box, soft is already extremely loud, oem is do-able, but off still best for me. E82 dct n55 here
I would definitely be curious to hear how different yours sounds with a highly modified exhaust
yeah once you start getting bigger pipes with less restrictions the burbles started giving me headaches, especially for a daily. mine set to 0 as well F30 b58. Sound of the turbo is better anyways
@@HargunSV I can imagine man. I have actually turned mine down to OEM style since making this video because even on the soft setting it can pop really loudly when the exhaust is warmed up. If I didn't have a resonator and muffler I'm not sure I would want synthetic burbles either.
I don't like the gunshot burble tunes either, especially with automatics & 4 bangers (VW golfs). The N55 i6 single turbo has among the best sounding exhausts. I have the larger factory BMW performance exhaust. The deep sound with no OPF filters unlike newer cars, sets it apart. I usually don't enable any burbles. Exception for new years or July 4th, put that on max & laugh ur brains out as your exhaust fires off rollin through the suburbs
Lol that’s golden although it hurts me to even enable the hard burbles because I feel like I’m hurting the turbo every time
IMO:
1000-3000Rpms - 1s duration at soft setting
3000-5000Rpms - 1s duration at medium setting
5000rpms to redline - 0.5s duration at hard setting
But any bet the software doesn’t allow you to set based on RPM range using this feature 😏
This is why it’s just best to cal in the base ignition MAP along the deceleration columns, your own spark retard, injector overrun and throttle opening angle during deceleration. Along that column, you’ll have cells per rpm range/increment where you can be less/more aggressive to one’s own liking.
Sounds like you know a LOT more about this stuff than me haha!
base 0, sport - soft, 0.5sec, 1800 min. base no burbles, sport has more burbles but doesn't go off as much in traffic when min rpm is 1800. sport with paddles - i can make them go off when i want. vrsf catless and dinan exhaust. n55 135i. had for 4 yrs and finally did pipe and tune. way better than dinan stage 3.
How do you like your dinan exhaust?
@@JasonJoyrides i was lucky i found this car with all the dinan goodies for the stage 3 tune. it was a great package with the stock downpipe. felt like an extra 50 horses and had a little burble during wot and sometimes when downshifting just right. black tips looks great and has logo. is there better sounding exhaust now for a quarter of the price. yes. i wouldn't pay $1,400 for it if my car was stock. i feel dinan had a oem plus vibe to it at one time like alpina. it's kinda like the dinan tune vs the mhd. mhd is better. some people would fight me over that statement. i think they are just dinan fan boys that still exist. i get compliments on the dinan parts all the time. i would go with a valvetronic exhaust if i didn't have it. i think they are under $500. same with the dinan intercooler and oil cooler. i would go csf and mosselman instead. great time to have an older e82. so many aftermarket parts that were not around 15 yrs ago at way cheaper prices. it would cost me $100 to have tune removed and same to reflash. now i hit a button on my phone. amazing.
@@robertpurvis6106 absolutely right about it being a great time to own these cars. I love coming into a platform after it has already fuller developed. Years of forum discussions, service bulletins, and how to videos for me to pull information from.
@@JasonJoyrides yes agree. it's fun to try and do some of the maintenance and mods myself. forums and youtube is very helpful. going to try to install the bimmerworld swaybar end links myself this week. noticed the bushings in my dinan ones were blown out last time i had the tires off. i figured out how to do the plugs and ignition coils myself. i know this is lightwork for most but it's tricky no breaking plastic parts and wires if you never done something before. nice talking to ya.
@@robertpurvis6106 Everyone started somewhere! And the more you work on your own car, the more acquainted you get with it. Makes it easier to diagnose stuff in the future as well.
Whats your exhaust setup?
All stock but a catless DP. Should have put that in the description. My bad! It's fixed now.
If my bmw starts making noises like that, I’m looking for timing issues.
Did you unlock before you tune?
Do you mean unlock the ECU like the new cars require? These older cars don’t require an ECU unlock to tune them. There is a “long flash” that is completed the first time you tune with MHD, but it is just like a normal flash just it takes a little longer because MHD is being installed on the DME.
@@JasonJoyrides yes I have 2018 330i us version
@@joebiscuit2005 I gotcha bro. So you have the B48 engine which is not supported by MHD. I have a friend who tuned his B48 with MG Flasher and had good things to say about it though. I suggest taking a look on MG FLasher’s website to see if they have anything that peaks your interest. I don’t think you have to have your B48 DME unlocked to use MG Flasher but don’t quote me on that! If so, you would need to either have a local shop do that or you can send it in to Kies Motorsports to have them unlock it for you. I think it’s only a couple hundred bucks.

@@JasonJoyrides I have b46 bro. Thanks for your help. I used jb4 tune also pedal tune mst intake changed pipe. Straight pipe. I want more power 😂
@@joebiscuit2005 Oops I said B48 sorry man I wasn’t sure how much you knew already haha. Not sure what you’re getting out of it with the JB4 but I will say my friend with a 230i used MG Flasher and was pulling on his brother with a stock 340i so I know you can at least get decent power out of the B46. Wish I could help more but you obviously know more than me and to be honest I really only know about N55s so far because that’s where all of my research has been.
Hello from Germany, i tune on stage 1 with Soft Burble on 2 Seconds Duration. Its perfekt.
Ah sry, e82 135i N55
Excellent! Are the loud aggressive burbles as common in Germany as they are here in the states? Pretty much anytime I see a modified BMW it has loud burbles.
@@JasonJoyrides Yes definitely.
In the tuning scene, almost every BMW has a hard exhaust pop.
It's really crazy 😅
@@ehrenmann6025 props to you for going a different route than everyone else

Soft 1.0sec is the best for me :)
Excellent choice 👏🏼
It woud be nice hear those pops on the fiat 😂😂
The Abarth mainly only backfires between shifts
@JasonJoyrides do you need special program to doit im new and i kinda want to doit on the abarth but i have no idea where to start 😅
@chester2049 you can buy a tune from Tork Motorsports, Eurocompulsion, or a couple other places and have them add the burble settings so that it burbles every time you let off the gas. But mine is on the stock tune and only backfires on upshifts if you shift just right. It’s fun, kinda keeps you working for it because it’s not a sure thing that it will.
The correct answer is: OFF
