I appreciate and yes I agree very interesting results especially with Stage 1. These tests were done using the V1.84 maps however so I having been testing out the V1.60 maps to see if there is an improvement. I have heard mixed reviews on the forums but most people seem to get better results with the V1.60 maps.
I just did stage 2+ on my 135. No bolt ons 30deg weather 😅Runs mint. Hit 23psi. Butt dyno says 50hp gain. My boy thinks it’s 75hp gain. His opinion coming from a FBO e92 n54. He’s still not used to how light the 1 series feels compared to the 3.
Sheeeesh bro be careful running all that boost with no mods! 23 PSI is crazy. I need to run some data logs myself to see the exact numbers on my car. Are you on V1.84 or V1.60 map?
V1.84. I’ve not seen any pulled timing. Going FBO this month. IAT shot up to 90+ degrees. 30 degrees ambient is the only reason I’m getting away with it. All fluid temps are rock steady, trans, oil, and coolant. I’ll let ya know how the Pure 500 feels when I’m done 👍
Hey man I was actually just having a conversation in the comments of my burble tune video with another gentleman about the difference between the maps. My assumption was to use the newer maps because MHD claimed that they were an improvement over the V1.60 maps so why would I waste my time. However, after doing some more research on different forums I am seeing that the consensus in the N55e community is that they are disappointed with the new maps and most people have stuck with the old ones. I went ahead and flashed V1.60 Stage 2+ on my car yesterday and immediately felt a difference compared to the V1.84 Stage 2+ map so I will definitely be doing some more testing soon to compare the two. Another guy here in the comments says that he put the V1.84 Stage 2+ map on his car and was hitting 23 PSI boost and it rips so it definitely may a case by case basis but I will be doing some further testing in the near future. For now I am leaving the V1.60 map on my car.
I also recently found out while researching that most of the people recommend the 1.60 maps. I was as surprised as you :)) thank you very much for your reply and waiting to see if you are going to post also a comparison with the 1.60 maps. Also, thank you very much for the burble settings comparison, you helped me decide which one I should go for after I get the MHD. Really appreciate what you are doing and keep up the good work. You have a subscribe from me haha.

My car is tuned with xHP and it does not make much of a difference, if any at all, when it comes to the speed of the upshift. DCT is as quick as it gets with that. xHP has some other awesome features though that I have really liked having. I made a video on that if you're interested.
ua-cam.com/video/Sz7NBbFBQ9Y/v-deo.html I found a DIY for a virtual dyno that was recommended also on the forums, if you are interested to see as a ballpark the power it makes. I'm going to try it
@@JasonJoyrides yeah, it's an interesting thing to do. I will also try it out. You can upload the logs from MHD into it and it should give you a figure
I like the idea and the effort you put in, however I think your measuring method is flawed. While rolling around on a 50 degree day, there's no reason there should be a full second discrepancy within the same tune. Dragy is absolutely necessary for this type of measuring.
While I agree that Dragy may be able to give a more precise measurement, I mentioned that the pavement I used had a grade to it, meaning one pass was downhill and the other uphill. This is what resulted in the difference between the two times on the same tune. I imagine that if I did both passes only going downhill, both times would have been very close to each other.
There’s a lot of variables that play into the answer to that question but I’d say yes stage 1 will not hurt anything. Just remember that routine oil changes are the most important thing with these cars. Now that they are getting older, we are seeing high mileage cars that lasted because they were taken care of, and lower mileage cars that weren’t taken care of the way they should have are having failures. If your engine has been well cared for, the mileage doesn’t scare me at all.
@@JasonJoyrides thank you for the input. The oil has been changed every 3000-3500 miles and coils and spark plugs were recently done. If I was to just run stage 0 burble on medium from what I read that won’t affect anything reliably wise is that correct?
@@That_slowf10 that’s correct stage 0 is the stock map with only burbles and a couple other options that you can change that won’t affect the engine. My only word of caution with the burbles would be to stick to soft burbles because running the more aggressive burbles can blow up your turbo. It’s super hard on the seals.
Sounds like a healthy N55. Thanks for another vid of the 135 on it’s journey to greatness
Very informative video. Thanks for adding this to the database in the BMW community!
No problem!
Really interesting results! I’m not surprised about the difference with Stage 2+, but what do you think about the difference with Stage 1?
Personally, I was expecting a bit of a better time for stage 2+
@@minulachis I really think V1.60 Stage 2+ is going to be a sub 7 second time based on what my butt dyno is telling me.
