    Hi!! 😀
    What’s an easy way to memorise these verb endings for each tense?
    Sorry my brain isn’t good at memorising things
    Also, what advice would you give to a beginner trying to learn Korean, e.g what do I learn after learning hangul and stuff
    Thank you!!

    • @justlearnkorean
      @justlearnkorean  2 роки тому +3

      안녕하세요~ Please don't think your brain isn't good. There are a lot to remember. So hope you don't get discouraged.
      👉My advice for beginners would be...'Learn Korean as a small chunk regualrly!' There are lots of things to learn, grammar rules, vocabulary, fixed phrases, pronunciation etc. But try to learn little by little, and make a plan that fits your routine and is as specific and realistic as possible.
      For example,
      1. Set a goal, eg. Understand and speak basic level of Korean within 6 months/Pass the Korean language exam within 1 year (In my opinion, it's the most important (WHAT you want to achieve and WHEN you want to achieve) because learning Korean would be a long journey, you will get lost at some point. Once you know your destination and until when you should be there, you can stay motivated along the way.)
      2. Find out what you need to study and prioritise them
      3. Find out study time, eg. 30 mins 5 days a week, Mon-Fri
      4. Check regularly if you are on the right track by taking a mock exam/simple test
      5. Be flexible. Sometimes you are not in the mood to study/don't have time etc.
      The list goes on.
      👉About tenses..It's the best to learn Present tense first, and then Past, Future, Present continuous, Past continuous, Future continues. As present tense itself means many different things, it might take some time. So find out what would be the best way for you, eg. learning one meaning per week with lots of example sentences. And at the same time, it would be very helpful to learn conjugated verbs in present together. For example, listen and read out loud the most common verbs in present tense, 좋아하다-> 좋아해(요), 살다-> 살아(요), 가다-> 가(요) etc.
      👉About your question (What do I learn after learning hangul and stuff?)
      I would recommend that you should focus on learn pronunciation and how to read (i mean reading out loud).
      First, listen single words a lot and repeat after - Do it using the most common verbs/adjectives/nouns/adverbs, until you get the hang of it.
      And then listen short sentences a lot and repeat after - because a single word is pronounced differently in a sentence. Until you understand how words sound in sentences.
      And then, slowly learn grammar & essential phrases, practice listening and whatever you fancy.
      If you have any questions, just ask me. I'm happy to answer. Hope you enjoy learning Korean
      감사합니다 ~

      As I saiddd I’d let you know how I did within a year
      So I properly got into self learning Korean in may and it may not seem a lot, but I am pretty happy with the amount I’ve learnt in 7 months
      I learnt:
      Reading rules (still memorising sone)
      Sentence structure
      Common phrases
      Informal and formal
      Tenses
      How to say I have/I don’t have
      How to say “there isn’t” or “there is”
      Numbers in sino and a bit in native or the other way round 😅
      Introducing myself
      Batchim
      Particles, subject markers
      And that’s all!
      I still need to learn WAY more words to understand korean

    선생님,I’ve been away from Korean for over a year,can you please help me out with the things I need to review or learn?Ive been learning Korean for 2 years.

    • @justlearnkorean
      @justlearnkorean  4 місяці тому

      Well, it's difficult to answer because it depends on your goals and interests.
      If you've been learning Korean for 2 years, I assume your Korean might be at an upper beginner level. Even if you've taken a year off, you will catch up quickly when you start again. 😀
      I might sound too cliché, but from my experience, constant exposure and active learning are super important. To achieve this, I recommend two things:
      First, think about your goal. What do you want to achieve? Your goal can be understanding films and dramas, having conversational skills, passing a certain level of a Korean language test, or developing specific skills like listening or speaking. Whatever your goal is, I think you should focus on listening skills first by listening a lot and learning vocabulary and grammar.
      Second, find study materials you enjoy. You might like Korean learning books, storybooks, UA-cam videos, dramas, or K-pop. Use any of them, but find something you can stick to for a long time. I failed many times, especially when using materials I didn't enjoy or found too difficult. So, choose something interesting and easy for you.
      Check out these videos, which are about study plan etc.

    Just a quickkkk question:
    Are all of the sentence examples here formal or informal or causal?????

    • @justlearnkorean
      @justlearnkorean  2 роки тому

      That's right. Thanks you. 😊
      All the example sentences are informal and causal. And the parts in brackets (end in 요) are polite versions, which can be used when you talk to someone who is older than you or you don't have a close relationship with.
      Hope that answers to your question. If you have further questions, feel free to ask.

    Hey teacher! I know how to read in Korean .. but I can't read them fastly like fluently... I can't speak longer sentences fluently... It always take time to read sentences faster... Any suggestions??

    • @justlearnkorean
      @justlearnkorean  Рік тому +3

      Thank you for your question. I can only suggest what I do when I learn languages. 'READ OUT LOUD' It sound so simple but I've found it very effective and it definitely works for me. I actually mentioned this method in other videos. Choose articles or dialogues that you understand 60-80% and read them out loud several times, literally millions of times. It would be even better if you can hold of audios of those articles or dialogues so that you can learn how native speakers pronounce. If there are any parts that you can't read fluently, then break the sentence into a few chunks and read them separately several times. And also listen to the audio and copy the way the sentence is said. I remember, years ago I picked up an English book and read it out loud 1-2 hours every day. I could see a change within a month. You can not only improve fluency/speaking but also listening skills and you can also naturally memorise new words and expressions. I hope this works for you too. But make sure you choose the right materials. They must be just right level for you, but most importantly contents must be interesting for you. Good luck ☺
