      @@storytimeinkorean it's been 4 years since I started learning, so slow and steady epitomises my progress 🤭 I'm glad you'll check it out! There are quite a few cute cafés around the corner from 6K, so I'm sure you'll love the decor. Unfortunately I didn't have time to check the rest of them out during my day in Gwangju this summer 😞 Please share any cafe recommendations you have for Seoul and Busan because I'll be back next month 🥳

    Anyong seo! I'm from the US and I've become a fan of k-dramas, so I thought it would be fun to learn Korean and not have to rely on subtitles (which feels a long way off right now). I've started this learning journey about a year ago, but I took a break and for several months and have just gotten back into it. I'm from the Seattle area on the west coast of the US - and we are all about coffee here (Starbucks started here)! I hope to visit Korea someday. Kansahamnida for sharing these stories with us to help us learn. I appreciate it!

I’m so glad you just got back into learning Korean! It’s a long journey, but as long as you have fun and enjoy the process, I’m sure you’ll have rewarding moments soon!! In german cafes, all you can do besides eating and drinking is talking to who you are there with. If 2 people or more come together, they let them talk for a while even i they are finished, some stay for so long. But if you are alone, many cafes will let you stay only 5 or 10 minutes after finishing if they are generous. After that, many will ask you to leave or order more. Studying or reading is unthinkable in most cafes here. It´s sad, I love being in cafes and I would love to study o read there. Fortunately the coffee/bagel shop owner in my street is really nice, she doesn´t mind people staying longer. It´s not easy to study ther because the tables are high and small, but if you just bring a study notebook it is possible to study for maybe an hour. She never asks people to leave unless she´s closing.

    • @storytimeinkorean
      @storytimeinkorean  10 місяців тому +2

      Ohh! I never knew that about German cafes! That’s for sure such a different perspective that the country/society has. Thank you for sharing about it! But it’s good that you have at least that cafe that you can study in for a little bit longer! 🥺 I know, studying or reading in cafes are just relaxing but fun. That’s such a bummer. Hopefully you get to visit/travel to different countries or places that have cafes where you can stay as long as you want one day! 😊

    안녕하세요!! 캐나다사람이고 2017년부터 한국어를 배우고 있어요. 제가 한국에 못 가봤는데 내년 여름에 가려고 해요. 캐나다에서 카페들은 좀 지루해서 보통 안 가요. 근데 한국의 카페에 대한 보고 듣는 후에 한국에 가는 것을 조금 더 기대된 것 같아요. 제가 커피를 별로 안 좋아하지만 vibes위해서 카페에 가고 싶습니다 ㅎㅎㅎ
    storytime in korean씨가 "다양한 경험과 기억도 팔아요"라고 말했는 때 저는 웃겼어요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 너무 귀엽다, 진실이죠
    i appreciate you putting in a few more complicated words for even intermediate people like me to pick up on and learn ㄱㅅㄱㅅ

    I find this is one of a good korean learning resource, we can listen to native speaking and read the text both in 한글 and english. It helps. 선생김 thank you.

      Being able to follow along in 한글 while referring to English is a great way to learn! Thank you so much for watching! ♥️🥹
