My favourite thing this year is to watch reaction videos to Europapa just to see the looks change on the faces of the people reacting, when they get to the end part 😅
I bet you've seen some things! 😆
Same here!
SAMEEEE!!!
very similar jarring Screeching halt for RIm Tim Tagi Dim.
I AM DOING THIS RIGHT NOW 😂
It doesn't matter where Joost travels or what he's eating, there will always be the pain of missing his parents. Nobody could help him, not even when he paid them. Children should be happy, enjoy their lives, right? What if you're not happy as a kid? Joost's father died when he was 12 and his mother a year later. With this song he is taking the step to move on with his life. That's the meaning of the fire. Joost shares his fathers wisdom: people invented borders/ boundaries, so you can invent your own world. Father worked as a volunteer with refugees when he was alive. So the song tells us about the pain of grieving but also contains a hopeful message of Europe being a place of freedom and diversity. We are all human beings. Let's come together. Thank you for your reaction! Greetings from Westland, The Netherlands ❤
perfect uitgelegd!
Wonderfully put! A fantastic message to share! Thank you for watching, and greetings from the UK! 👋🏼
@@JarydReactsto bad the UK stepped out
Westlandddddd!!!!!
12 points from Belgium 🇧🇪 to Joost Klein ❤ The Netherlands 🇳🇱 🎉🎉🎉
🇳🇱🏆
This song is an ode to his parents who died when he was at a young ages. Although I normally don’t like this kind of music a lot, I like this one. Awesome made and it it very catchy. It keeps singing in my head all day.😀
Very catchy, and a gorgeous message to share!
12 points to the Netherlands...happy song ❤
Can't wait to see it live!
@@JarydReactsThere is a live video on YT have fun.
The lyrics are really important as well. Joost has thought this through into perfection! It is well worth watching it with captions on, and knowing a bit more about his personal background.🍀
Music video is genius! Love the shots!
Read the lyrics, this song is art. The whole song is the ode. Happy tunes, sad lyrics throughout
A perfect mix!
Check this song live on stage 🎉
On the list! 😁
This song has a deeper meaning. 'Papa' is translated 'dad' in dutch. Joost lost his dad to cancer when he was 12 and his mom a year later because of a cardiac arrest. When he was younger he watched the Eurovision with his parents and said “I’m gonna sing at Eurovision one day”. Joost sings that no matter where he goes or what he eats, he can not escape the pain of this loss. In the end he says goodbye to the pain of his loss by burning the photo, without losing the memory. This song is also an ode to Europe. His dad told him that it’s a world without borders, because borders are invented by humans. And that you can create your own world. The dance break is gabber music - a music style that was invented in the Netherlands, and the sub genre is called happy hardcore. Bringing a personal loss, the feeling of Europe and the dutch culture together; that is art.
The lyrics have a lot of layers:
Europe let’s come together!
It’s now or never!
I love you all!
Welcome to Europe
Stay here until I die
Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
Welcome to Europe
Stay here until I die
Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
Visit my friends in France
Or take a long walk to Vienna
I want to leave the Netherlands
But my passport is gone
Fortunately don't need a visa
To be with you
So take the bus to Poland
Or the train to Berlin
I have no money for Paris
So use my imagination
Do you have a euro please
Say "merci" and "please"
I lost everything
Except time
So am travelling every day
For the world is mine
Welcome to Europe
Stay here until I die
Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
Welcome to Europe
Stay here until I die
Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa
Euro-pa-pa-pa
Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa
Eu-ro-pa!
Ich bin in Deutschland
Aber Ich bin so allein
Io sono in Italia
but still I feel pain
Am running from myself
Calling for "help!" all day long
Yes I even give people money
But there is no one to help me
I don't need es-car-gots
Don't need fish 'n chips
Don't need paella, no
I don't even really know what that is
Turn on the radio
I hear Stromae with "Papaoutai"
Won't stop until they say
"Yes, yes, he does that very well ey!"
Welcome to Europe
Stay here until I die
Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
Welcome to Europe
Stay here until I die
Euro-pa-pa, Euro-pa-pa
Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa
Euro-pa-pa-pa
Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa
Eu-ro-pa!
Euro-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa….
Welcome in Europe boy!
At the end of the day
We are all human beings
My father once told me
It's a world without borders
I miss you every day
Is what I secretly whisper
You see dad
I listened to you
Is what I secretly whisper
You see dad
I listened to you
Thank you so much for this! Very informative!
My favourite part of this reaction video is the real emotion at the end, beautiful! ❤
I agree, beautiful and surprising!
The lyrics are very important it has a deeper meaning. Fun and emotional
My favourite combo
Yes, this song is an emotional rollercoaster!!
It really is!
Ik zeg 12 points for The Netherlands ❤❤❤
🇳🇱🏆
There's a live version of this song😊👍
Two already, one in black and white, and one in color.
@@johannesnicolaas nice😎👍
Can't wait to hear it!
Right off the top, identifies the faint scent of gabber. Earliest mention I've seen yet in these reactions.
The Netherlands 12 points!!!!! ❤🎉
🇳🇱🏆
Love it!!🎉❤
Great song ❤
😍
I like your face! This song is an emotional rollercoaster and fun at the same time, I like your review!
Thanks for watching!
I am Dutch, 71 years old hippie. Never interested in the songfestival business, except Abba. Joost Klein is at a new level of energy. It's pure against plastic. It's smart.but honest!
I love this review haha
Don't forget to check out the extended ending, it's on UA-cam 👉🏻 "Europapa Outro". The additional lyrics give so much more meaning to the whole song and the piano and strings are beautiful. I wish he could do that full version at Eurovision.
Ooo I'll check that out too, thank you for that!
Happy upbeat, trancy/rave music.. then BAM.. right in the feels. Both my parents are gone - but they got divorced when I was 2, so I never knew them together.
I hope you have many happy memories, and I hope this song can resonate with you in positive ways! 😊
This is the most Dutch song ever prodused in my opinion.
So many details, so fun, intense, the songtext is very deep, You won't reconize the tezt when you trenselate it ( exept the chorus :P )
I'm glad you liked the song ^^
This is one of the best they send in.
Stay awesome
One of the best entries sent, and so annoyed they took this away from him #JusticeForJoost
The part with the 'tracksuits' or Aussies, from the brand Australian, is Gabber culture, originating in the Netherlands in the early 90's. It was a whole scene. Joost is referring back to that music style and typical Dutch youth/music culture of that time.
Such a smart reference!
There's a story behind this song I'm sure it's already been told in the comments but it will definitely change your perspective to the song 😊
It makes a huge difference! 😊
It a very great song, with a lot off emotions in it.
12 points for the Netherlands ❤❤❤
👀🏆
There is a live version ❤
Can't wait to hear it!
Tilburg 💪
Cant wait to see it live
Me too!
Hey Jaryd, just list,'n to Joost and give him your 12 points 🍀🙏👌❤️🤫
Deserved! ❤️
Papa we have a winner
AMEN!
You make some quality reactions man. Are you planning on doing all of the entries before the competition? If so, you have some ground to cover. Good luck!
Thank you! And yes, I'll be reacting to all of them. Massively delayed as I had to move house and then my PC died on me, but ready to power through! 😁
@@JarydReacts Great. Looking forward.
Would love to see your reaction to his first live performance video! :-)
On the way! 😁
check out his first live performance!!!🎉🎉🎉
On the way!
Dank je wel.
Welcome! 🇳🇱
Hey Jaryd, whatch out for Joost as the unforgettable winner 2024 🎊🎊🔥👌
Keeping my eyes peeled 👀🏆
His father who died when he was 12 said to Joost: we live in a world without borders. So he gave his son a wisdom insight before he died.
And he's bravely sharing with the world!
you are so right about burning daylights it was so much better than some of the songs who did qualify. it's such a shame. i love to watch the reaction video's on europapa as a 90's dutch baby it is so hilarious to see people react on a music style you have always known😂
Glad I'm not alone! I really wanted the best for it!
@@JarydReacts yeah i am one of the few who could appreciate it they gotten so much hate and i couldn't stand it🫣
12 points to The Netherlands.
The live version is GOOD!
For me the winner of the Eurovision Songcontest 2024.

Definitely catchy, it's growing on me the more I read up on what it's about - I'd be surprised if Joost fails to qualify with this
We will be seeing Netherlands in the final 💯
