Bearzerk is actually really fun and not that hard. The shield is a lifesaver. Multiple axes so you can throw axes while axing people. Fire hammer is like a reusable grenade that makes you immune to fire. Force pike which is AMAZINGLY fun, the alt fire catapults enemies towards you and often as not launches them halfway across the map. Totally worth replaying the game just for that. The great axe is the only one that isn’t a stand out for me, it’s really good but kind of simple, just hit stuff till it dies. Bearzerk is well worth playing. It’s not a super challenge mode imo, but an alternate arsenal which, without being weaker, completely changes how you approach fights.
The force pike makes the entire mode. Being able to pull enemies off of faraway ledges and splatter them on the ground is basically the defining characteristic of Bearzerker.
I actuall find Bearzerk easier than Brutalizing because of how well balanced the melee weapons are. A spear that yoink's people, a hammer that makes you fire and lava proof that can be thrown for explosive damage.

Absolutely loved this game, There was just so much good going for it. One of the more notable things to me was that squad mates that you keep alive will appear later and its such a simple thing but makes it easier to stay connected in a world where even the nameless npc's mean something to you.
I recommend it for all people who like to explore stuff and search every last little corner of a map. Its not for people who just want to shoot stuff. The shooting is good and the weapons feel good and there are some really massive fights but there is also a lot of non combat. Because the maps are very open and you are constantly trying to fix stuff, solve puzzles, find items to proceed. You find nearly everything to proceed naturally and not hidden behind secrets. Fortunately it never feels like the switch hunts in Hexen 1. Level design is very good if you are into that kind of stuff. Everything feels like real lived in places in a fantasy world with crystal based technology. There is also lots of lore and journals to read and a lot of world building. It feels like a mix between a fps and some kind of adventure game.
I've been watching you since pro wang man and nearly all of your videos are worth multiple re-watches but something about this one, it's produced so well. I love it, premium lels. Thank you for your hard work, this crap can't be easy.

If you want to find him, he is on the map, "Besieged", is in a pit in the cultist fortress, and is fully voiced by Jon St John.

@@derezzed1413 You could be right, since I can't find a source to say who is who now.

I was just wondering when a new Civvie vid was going to go up. Glad to see it
the execution of the joke at 2:10 is amazing, caught me completely off guard is by far one of the funniest things I have ever heard. By far the best review game channel bar none.
You guys are so creative and amazing! Every video is hilarious, and so immersive and well-thought-out, that I feel like it’s the very best feeling from the nineties again! You’ve inspired me to collect all of my old DoS games! Thank you so, so much!!!
love how katie’s cell is significantly nicer.
Civvie?
I love you, man. I mean that. Your vids crack me up every time, keep doing what you do sir.
A new Civvie vid always feels like Christmas morning.
Yeah it’s always such a great feeling seeing a civvie video pop up in your recommended
I love your videos. They are funny and so sarcastically dry that I wanna laugh in the cruelest way possible. Also thanks to your videos I just bought Dusk and Hedon. They are a blast and if it wasn’t for you I would never have taken the time to play them.
Thanks for showing me something new I never would have experienced.
Cannot wait to see you do more!
Absolutely loved this game, There was just so much good going for it. One of the more notable things to me was that squad mates that you keep alive will appear later and its such a simple thing but makes it easier to stay connected in a world where even the nameless npc's mean something to you.
I just love civvies little stream of cosciousness style humorous rants.
It only took me six hours, because I'm a ninth-level 4D chess genius goblin who gets a rash from sunlight.
I've been watching you since pro wang man and nearly all of your videos are worth multiple re-watches but something about this one, it's produced so well. I love it, premium lels. Thank you for your hard work, this crap can't be easy.
i really love the cosmic horror that is the unexplained way civvie and kattie communicate with each other and how these interactions have inconsistent relationships with time and space
6:28 The dude made the music for Tyrian. TYRIAN! Enough said.
And also both of the Vigilante games! One hell of a composer for sure
And civvie don't even mention it, Tyrian music is so good.
"Tyrian the Level" is burned into my memory, and sometimes I'd pull up the in-game jukebox just to listen to it.
First time I've ever peaced out at the spoiler warning on a vid and boy that was a good decision. This game was damn amazing. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
I did the same and only now just came back to finish this video. Well worth it.
"You can just no-sell magic attacks with the ring"
Ah, must be Hogan's HOF ring.
Orc waifu is Abyss confirmed
it is endlessly amazing to me how such an old engine, modernized a bit, can produce the most amazing experiences like this (and stuff seen in Vargskelethor Joels Doom Mapping contests). It shows brilliantly that tech isn't what makes games great, it is the creativity that flows into their creation.
Never seen this channel before but really good script and editing. Well done, nice. I’ll be watching more and telling my friends.
A morning with a new Civvie11 video is always a good morning.
Amen
I liked this game due to Alexander Brandon's music, his work on Unreal Engine 1 games made my childhood...
Nice game to play while waiting for Ashes - Afterglow aka Episode 2
0:25 that's some old, stale Half Life meme here
Now that you mention it an ashes video from civvie would be cool
Meanwhile Civvie shows the list and I'm like 'dude, Vigilante 8?!? That was my jam as a kid!'
I am proud to have my name in the credits of this masterpiece. Bravo!
Genuinely one of the greatest fantasy games I've ever played. I would kill to see more of this world. Thinking about doing a Bearzerker run now that it's been a few months since I first played the game
I'm really glad UA-cam recommended Civvie to me a few months back, because not only is this a top quality entertainment channel, I get to hear about games like this that I normally wouldn't, and that's awesome.
Also the more Lo-Wang nuke counts, the better.
HEAD ON, APPLY DIRECTLY TO THE FOREHEAD
I'm glad you covered this hidden gem. I played it already and was hoping to see a video from you about it.
The first 2 minutes and 15 seconds of this video are pure magic.
I forgot about your page...the joy in rediscovering it is immeasurable. Missed you, buddy.
Civvie, man you got me back into these games and I gotta thank you for it. You've had me playing and streaming more of these than I knew even existed thanks to this channel!
Just finished Bloodrite, most fun i've had playing a game in a few years. Zan_HedonDev pulled some goddamn magic out of their hat with this, looking forward to seeing what they put out in the future (come on Hedon 3... that cliffhanger at the end of Bloodrite...)
agreed man, finally finished it during christmas myself, beautiful game and the final part cant come soon enough !
The fact you played a midi version of jungle love in this is great.
Well, that's one way to recognize a game from Civvie's video. By recognizing the main character from porn that the creator of it made of them years ago before the game was a thing.
Wait what?
Are you serious?

If you didn't know, the rat that gets picked up around that time is based on a meme
I love the love/hate relationship you have with your fanbase and the games.
Yup, finding out there's a song called "I Wanna Be Your Dog" for the Disney movie Cruella is the single most cursed thing I could have seen today
This may be Civvies greatest episode. That Deathloop/Todd Howard line in the beginning is delivered so perfectly, the comedic timing is off the charts. I blew coffee out of my nose the first time I saw this episode, and I come back to this episode often because it's the best.
Hell yeah, waited a long time for you to cover this one, thanks Civvie
"You have to poison this dog!" Shit, definitely not playing this then. "Or... you could make a sleeping potion!" Oh Hell yeah, I'm back into it.
Jesus that rant at the end still has me spinning, fantastic content as always Civvie, #freecivvie
well I know how I'm gonna spending $20. Thanks for getting me back into this style of gaming, Civvie.
Great video as usual. You're one of the few UA-camrs that I actively follow. Kinda weird the smaller UA-camrs make the best content
This video is probably one of my favorites. It's like endlessly rewatchable. Maybe it is my thing after all. Like I don't know, I've watched it 20 times already. It's like I'm in the loop .. Loop. Oh, I see what you did there!
Thank you CV-11, you make our grim dark world a little lighter
Impressive work for one romanian man. Truly, a masterpiece, labor of life.
Jesus how does civvie not have double the subs already
Amazing what doom 2, romanian dev energy and thicc orc thirst can do to a mf
Thicc Orc Thirst is unquenchable.
