Awesome trip report! Their catering service was excellent as always. The new cabin is amazing. IFE is so large, and legroom is so generous. I can't wait to try their new cabin after the pandemic
Thanks so much for watching! They are so hospitable....I love flying them so much. And yes, that was A LOT of sake on the previous trip....it was a GOOD flight ahahaha
34" seat pitch in economy is pretty much unheard of on any other long haul airline. Most are 32-33". My last trip across the pacific was with Cathay and they had 31" seat pitch on their 777s! Definitely felt very cramped up after 15 hours of that.
Both ANA and JAL are super kind with their economy class passengers. So does Korean Air. You should try KE 777 / 330 economy class too. Super heaven legroom as well.
Yeah, the Japanese are really generous...well, they also charge more than others! LOL. I've only flown Asiana on short-haul in Business. Korean has never been on my radar because it is in the wrong alliance for me. Would like to try them out sometime though! I do love the Korean Air uniform hahaha
Awesome review! I've been trying to find ANA economy reviews of the new seat, and your's was absolutely perfect. I might be flying them next year, and this has only gotten me more excited! Cheers from the US!
Hahaha, the intro for this video was great🤣 also the wait time payed off because the editing was great. If you have time you should do a comparison from the old seats to the new seats. Thanks for the upload!
Thanks, Ralph! Glad you liked the intro...haha...I thought I'd jazz it up a bit. Yeah, I was pretty happy with the video in the end...just took a while. That might be an idea for when I run out of content! Haha. Keep safe!
I feel like the Japanese airlines really do care about their catering since they usually use better quality ingredients than most airlines and the portions are good. When I flew JAL, they literally have a tray with the hot meal and just like ANA, 4 side dishes as well as Miso Soup which ANA doesn’t serve in economy anymore. On most airlines though, they only have the entree and two sides at most.
Thanks for watching, Elise! I totally agree, Japanese do care about their catering and the passengers. It's what sets them apart and what allows them to charge a premium. It must work for them as they flights are always packed!
This is why ANA are continually rated one of the top 5 airlines in the world, their product and service are exceptional. Loved the views arriving into Haneda, even with the extra seats in economy, you still get a 34 inch pitch, EVA, Emirates, JAL and Qatar eat your hearts out! After a few beers last year, I booked a flight with A&E, seat number 22A - should have worn my glasses, turned out to be WARD 22A, a hospital in the south of Glasgow. Have to say, the service and food was much better then Ryanair or Easyjet ..... haha ...Keep then coming Nik :)
Out of all the airlines, I would say that ANA is one of the few true 5 star airlines! Your A&E flight sounds....eventful hahaha. How did you manage that???
Fantastic overview of ANA!!!!! I just booked my trip to NRT for Oct 2022 & was curious about the Premium Economy seating. It has been 20+yrs since I've flown ANA, I enjoyed their service back then and it's seems they've only gotten better since (I didn't think that was possible because their service back then was AHHHmazing). Of your entire review, it was the "insta-husband" comment for me.....too funny; so cute 🙂
Greetings from Hong Kong! Great and detailed content video! ANA is always an excellent airline! Their B777’s new economy seats looks awesome too! But I think I am not able to try their B777s since they didn’t operate them from my place to Tokyo :( will definitely try them if I can! Thanks for sharing this trip and take care :)
Hello to Hong Kong! Thanks for watching 🥰 Glad you like the details in my report. The new seats are amazing and shame they don't fly the 777s to Hong Kong. I saw on their website that the 787s will get these seats...do they fly 787s to HKG...obviously not at the moment? Stay safe!
SOPLANE yes ANA do use their B787-9 to operate one daily flight from Hong Kong to Tokyo Haneda in normal situation :) but I am not sure whether the seats in their 787 are the same as the new 777s’ economy class seats... maybe I will figure it out and make a trip report later on as well haha
I like your videos cuz you're a foodie like me who obsesses about each meal and its contents. I have Taiwanese friends who actually book on ANA or JAL from the U.S. to and fro Taiwan instead of flying nonstop on EVA Air or CAL, Taiwan's two major airlines. They rather spend the extra money and transfer time for the experience on a Japanese airline. And yes, keep up the great job !
I loooved this video! One question though, towards the end of the video you had your breakfast and they offered two choices right? My question is, since both choices had pork and meat (which I don't eat) what happens if you refuse? Would that come off as rude? Many thanks!
Hey! Thanks so much for watching my video 🤩🤩🤩 Yeah, I can do that....never thought people would be interested in it...need to go find the information now....
Nice video! Funny thing - the new IFE screen is as big as the TV in some Japanese hotels :) I do wonder how they stay in business. At only a fraction of seating capacity as other airlines and only marginally higher fare, I don't know how ANA make enough money.
@@SOPLANETUBE Not sure about flights within Asia... From the US to Japan, because of stiff competition, ANA is higher than other airlines but not by much...especially in the gateway airports with multiple airlines serve the same route.
They're actually smart to make a cabin like that and charge a higher price with better service. Business class is an airline's most profitable class, and since Frankfurt and Tokyo are very wealthy, business, and toruistic cities, they can put a plane like this 777 on the route and rake in money. They can also make more money due to Frankfurt being a Lufthansa hub, and ANA and Lufthansa are both part of Star Alliance, so ANA doesn't need to compete with Lufthansa at their hub. Obv. more factors than that, but that's the jist, it's that the two cities are high focus business cities, so they can fill a whole 777 with those premium seats and make lots of money.
@@Avionicx I fly about 250k miles every year before the pandemic. Of companies that put their employees in J, there are contract prices, usually significantly lower than open market price for J - they in turn guarantee the airline they could consume x numbers of J seats every day, to make the routes feasible. Your average rich people or splurging vacationer won't drive enough revenue for the airlines but contract J account does. For my travel, I have x amount of budget each year to what I needed, and I prefer do pre-econ so I always have budget balance for emergency trips, but travel dept would force me to do J because they need keep the seat filled. When I looked at how much it was billed to my cost center, it was not much higher than economy. Therefore, they are not as profitable as you think. On the economy side, ANA has very good leg room, which means even the economy section isn't high profit - the extra legs percentage wise, is much higher than price. Anyways, I researched a bit and ANA's profitability is very low. It''s not even the top 20 worldwide. I thought I lost my business sense but no, i didn't :) This is how they choose to run their business model, then so be it.
Thanks for watching Louis! Yeah, I love the meals on Japanese airlines...and also the meals on other airlines flying out of Japan. The catering ex-Japan is always good! Oh 30 years ago? Plane food back then was so, so different! LOL
SOPLANE I see, I haven’t tried Thai airways in recent years since 2003. Other than Singapore Airlines, you can also get the leg rest in those extra leg room seats (economy class) in A350-900 Malaysia Airlines.
Great flight report! 🤗 The food looked amazing, better than some business class meals on other airlines. It was nice to see a bit of "flap action" too 😂 While you were sipping your sake, I was sipping (slurping) on a rather large Glenmorangie 🥃🥃🥃. Can't wait for the next one. Keep safe and well 😘😷
Hahaha glad you enjoyed the flap action! Food was so good as always. ANA is really worth the premium you have to pay for it! Which Glenmorangie are you drinking? I am more of an Ardbeg kind of person. That and Caol Ila! I like them smokey!!!!! mmmhhhh

How was the seat width? Moving from nine to ten abreast the seats had to get narrower.
It was still pretty good. It didn't feel any narrower to be honest. The legroom more than makes up for any loss in width of the seat.
