What is that thing that you apply on the corner of the valve cover gasket
It’s called RTV. It’s a silicone that dries into rubber.

This was a on D16Y8 but the concept is the same for any vehicle
Is that a 1/4 inch drill bit?
The kit that I used didn’t specify the drill bit as it came with it. From what I’ve read from similar kits they say 6.2mm is the size of the bit. This is the kit I used.

yeah you can use a 1/4
the top right bolt's threads are stripped on mg 1999 LX. My valve cover stays leak free with 4 of the 5 holding
Your lucky! But I wanted to fix it cause I hate having something broken.
@@MobileCarMechanic changing out the PCV valve stopped a lot of the leaking. A bad PCV valve causes increased pressure inside the engine, forcing oil out through the gaskets. Judging from repair receipts from the last owner, many lazy mechanics changed out gaskets without diagnosing the leaks.
This isn’t something I recommend doing
What would you recommend?
New rocker assembly is needed usually. After expanding the thread bore it weakers that corner of the cam cap, and the whole corner breaks off soon after.
@@sicebs88 Nah, never seen it be an issue. Barely drilling out the hole. lol
