Good video, clear and to the point. I broke one of the rear ones and thought I'd just leave it but it would leak under boost. M6x1.0 helicoil kit and 1/4 drill bit fixed it. However it's broke again while doing spark plug tube seals. I dip my drill bit and tap in thick grease and the metal shavings stick to the grease. May look into studs. Anything over 8 ft lbs of torque and these will snap/strip.
Thanks so much. I was thinking of heli coils but had a hard time figuring out what size they were. You did my homework for me. I also like the vacuum idea. I was just gonna put a rag around it.
I'm glad this helped you
Many thanks man, I got to take care of 5 stripped holes on this 1999 eclipse I bought the other day lol. Gonna use your method and see how it goes
Best of luck!
How'd it turn out?
Thank you so much man. I've been looking for the right size of helicoil. I have the same problem. Same spot
Bruhhh, I feel your pain same thing happened to me today 😂😂 I hope you get yours fixed!
Glad I could help
Thank youuuuuuuu!! This happened to my 2002 Honda civic. I thought the valve cover gasket was worn out and the reason for an oil leak. It was part of it but after I put back the bolt and it was spinning, I was like bruhhhhh 😑 but seeing this will help me out alot! Thanks you!
Glad it helped
Did you figure out the leak

Hello where can I get these tools
Good explaining. So what kit i need for my 2005 Honda Civic?
M6x1.0
would this process work on the front valve cover bolts too?
yes. same process
Would I need the same kit on d16y8 valve cover bolts?
Yep yep
What is the torque on those bolts and pattern for removal and replacement?
8 ft/lb work outside to inside removing, and inside to outside installing.
What is the name of the tool you use bro
It's a lisle valve spring tool
I used locktite on heli coil
That'll work too
It looks like whoever owns that car is good about changing the oil on time as clean as that head and valvetrain is, I hardly ever see that on a vehicle this old.
yeah, no doubt, I occasionally see them pretty clean
I don't know how people have so much trouble with stripping bolts out, not over tightening things isn't rocket science. Great tip though as always!
This is pretty common, This makes the 3rd I've repaired in a month
@@hondaresource Some people just have no common sense...
I wish I had seen this video before even trying! Now my thread is doing worse :((...Autozone thread repair kit sucks :P
I prefer the time sert. But same steps.
Time sert works well too!
