There’s a coffee grinder by I think it’s Parlex or Porlex - costs a fraction of the price of these and is just as good if not better for pepper grinding.

"just as good if not better" applies to volume output only in my opinion. I have a nice conical burr coffee grinder that is great for grinding high volumes of pepper quickly. Where it falls short is getting a coarser grind. The coarsest setting on mine is no where near as coarse as I'd like to have it for bbq rubs or most table applications. Coffee was never intended to be ground as coarsely as pepper. But... if it works for you then it's the really right tool :)

Aside from volume of internalstorage, any reason to buy the larger size? Seems the smaller set would be best since cheaper and saves space

yes, the larger ones I personally use when cooking and the smaller ones fit better and look better on the table... but like everything it is a personal preference

A rip off of the pepper cannon. That was my first thought as well. But Hexclad may be the first to come out with what could be a travel size pepper grinder of superior quality! However, I did pre-order my travel pepper cannon.

Yep, but I have made 10 times that so far and more in the future from people who like these. I love it when people make stupid comments like this.. I bet you frown on people who can afford expensive cars and homes also.. So jealous
