  • Here is a short video detailing the 12 Beeja Mantras that are traditionally chanted during the Suryanamaskar Practice. Ideally, you chant one mantra before each round of Sun Salutation.
The 12 Beeja Mantras are as follows:
Aum Hraam Mitraaya Namah (friendly nature)
Aum Hreem Ravaye Namah (bursts into brilliance)
Aum Hroom Suryaaya Namah (causes action)
Aum Hraim Bhaanave Namah (clarity in perceptions)
Aum Hroum Khagaaya Namah (moves swiftly in the skies)
Aum Hrah Pushne Namah (giver of nourishment)
Aum Hram Hiranyagarbhaaya Namah (golden womb)
Aum Hreem Mareechaye Namah (hot like pepper)
Aum Hroom Adityaaya Namah (born of creative energy)
Aum Hraim Savitre Namah (originator of life)
Aum Hroum Arkaaya Namah (worthy of praise)
Aum Hrah Bhaaskaraya Namah (bestower of enlightenment)
This video was originally published for the KYG Mandala Sadhana in which Suryanamaskar was practiced for straight 48 days. For more details on KYG, please visit our website www.kyg.org.

Very well explained. I never heard how hram, hrim these bij mantras are made. Thank you for giving answer, how these sounds have effect on two chakras each time one chants it.

Wonderful video. I especially love your discussion of how Pushne refers to nourishment on not only the spiritual level, but also emotional and physical levels as well.

    Sai Ram 🙏🏼
Thanks a million Bro Sunder & Maya, for being Swami’s instruments! I started practicing yoga recently because of your 108 Soorya Namaskar offerings. Last Sunday 9/27/20 felt so blissful, even though I’m not able to do 108 in one day as yet.
I was about to ask for the prayer & meaning of the mantras you chanted for the 108 Soorya Namaskar and landed here. Over the years I know Swami’s timing is always perfect...it may take years, months or days . But it’s so beautifully overwhelming every time it happens instantly in a flash. Stay blessed always and keep inspiring the world. Sai Ram🙏🏼❤️👍🏼

Of course they can. Actually it'll help and empower them. Women are embodiments of Shakti energy - Bija Mantras can never harm them.
