There's a Vedic story (was in Amar Chitra Katha as well) about a boy called Uttanka who is sent by his guru to fetch some special earrings for the guru's wife, then those earrings get stolen by a "naga" (snake of the underworld). So this boy starts digging into the underworld with an ordinary wooden stick, which is normally a futile exercise, but the boy is devoted to his purpose/duty, so doesn't give up. Indra (King of Heavens) feels compassion for him and infuses the boy's stick with the power of the thunderbolt - Then the boy finds that each thud of the wooden stick opens up huge caverns in the Earth, and he reaches the underworld easily, and is able to recover what he wants.
Basically such stories are symbolic ways of explaining the power of beeja mantras. Uttanka hitting the Earth with his ordinary stick is like us doing some preliminary spiritual practises. Over time, dedication to the path takes us to a Self-Realized Master, a true 'Sat Guru', basically an expression of the Divine - the likes of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, or Sri Ramana Maharshi, and countless others. Once such a Guru takes a soul under His/Her wing, they usually transmit a bija mantra (Of course, different gurus may have different methods, but beeja mantras are one established method). As the guest in this episode said, the power of the mantra is not merely in the syllables (which can be Googled) but the magic ingredient is the unlocking of the mantra's latent power by a God-realized saint. It's like having access to a bank locker - We may have a key, but that's not enough - The bank also has a second key, which they'll open our locker after verifying our identity - The Guru holds that second key, which unlocks the mantra for sincere students.
Thereafter, each chant of the bija mantra is like having Indra's thunderbolt in our arms. The progress before/after a bija mantra is quite evident - You don't need to be a saint to see it, all you need is sincerity. For example, we'll usually notice that "complexes" or fears or other mental hurdles that have plagued us for years or decades are gone within weeks. A great saint of the 1900s, Sri Anandamoyi Maa, said that chanting a beeja mantra puts us in the presence of our chosen deity, be it Rama or Krishna or Durga etc - Thereafter, it's our job to deepen and establish that bond into a permanent presence.

He is right u should not chant beeja mantra without initiation of Guru. I started getting attracted to spiritual world in 2019 ... That time I started mentally chanting few mantras and oh boy... It took me on a ride my kundalini arouse accidently since person need enlighted guru to control I had none so I cndt sleep for several hrs. It was blast of energy running from bottom of my spine to tip.. Luckily I was innocent and I prayed to God sincerely to get me a guru.!! Suddenly a stranger told me to take online initiation of Gurudev Siyag. Obviously when ur life on stake u wd go and try anything to save ur life. That's what I did. I took initiation and my Guru controlled my energy and since then I am living happy content life. I am HAPPY, Satisfied and hopefully get librated in this life haha.
A msg to my fellow folks don't take hindu dharma lightly. Don't play with fire. 🙏

I worship Maa kali and Maa durga since my childhood life.
When I have trouble in life around 28 years at age, I then search the beej mantra of durga from Google, i found Narvara mantra (Devi chamunda ).I chant unlimited count this day and night these day.After chanting 7 days at night , she(Devi chamunda) comes in my dream and the way these energy I get feel at that moment is too afraid and i can't handel these situation.
The next two day,the most amazing thing is that my problems have been solved ..
Then I know how powerful these mantras are and must need initiator to control these energy..

But it's not Ram, it is Rāma, two syllable mantra. The one syllable mantra is the beej mantra of the solar plexus (manipurachakra).
I daily chant these beej mantras Before reading Vishnu sahstranam it's called NYAS and vimochan vidhi they are really powerful it's done by chanting those beej mantras by touching your body parts they are really powerful 🙏 jai Shree harihar🙏

A good discussion. The mantras are sound energy. When you chant at a particular frequency it has a vibration that directly impacts your brain. E.G When the decibel is extremely high like in Fighter planes, the Beating of drums, high voltage music, etc. Some can accept that, and some cannot. Further, the mantra is autosuggestion (Napolean Hill) a kind of Placebo. That's the reason our Vedas clearly state that understand the meaning and then chant. So in my opinion, one can worship any form (idol worship) if he thinks or feels that a particular object or idol has invisible energy. Bhagavatham also reiterates that energy has no form(idol). It is purely sound. The Tantric very rightly says it must be in the correct frequency. I feel if we believe we are the children of 'God', no parents will/would want their children to undergo suffering. I am not a scholar. But I am sharing my opinion. Just a droplet that Science follows our Vedas and Puranas. 'Pushpak Vimana' (Ramayana' is today's Airplanes, Space shuttles, and Brahmastra' of Mahabharata is today's Hydrogen/Nuclear Bomb. 'Gyandhrishti/Telepathy' - today's mobile phones (that use frequency).
My grandfather was a expert in tantric activities, he called maa kali, he could see anywhere in the world by just sitting at one place, he can cure any disease by anything in his hand just by chanting some mantras...he used to do sadhna in shamshan on a dead body.

What i have studied so far, i find that Mantras are the codes of ancient era or even in today. Just like in programming, codes generate certain functions and outputs and also code comes with tricky syntax. Similarly Mantras are the programming languages of God and goddess.

Whenever I chant beej matra(basic ones) I always wake up at 3.30 in the morning without any alarms its like i wake up suddenly without any sleepy eyes or tiredness. Initially I was scared but then after watching sadguru's video on this i was relieved.

No, A Yogi is a nature or domestic practitioner whereas a Tantrik is a warring practitioner specifically done to subdue demonic energies and defend against them and so it will drain you. Not everyone can handle it

I am trying to explain you as simple as possible...they are talking about gurus like great upashakas of any particular deighty ..someone who get great success in their spiritual journey at "tantra marg" or "Vam marg"...which is considered as faster way than Bhakti Marg..
There are so many types of gurus like and their paths are different some gurus having different responsibility preaching sanatan dharma some have bhakti marg if the Guru is follower of vaishnav panth they preaching Hari Bhakti where bhajan sankirtans performed some gurus have followed tantra marg mainly they are worshipper of kali and Bhairav ganesh Ji's ...although one can do vishnu ji Laxmi Ji's sadhana in tantra marg as well... Guru is one who first read your kundali because they get to know who is your "isht Dev" and how much spiritual potentiality you have... What is the appropriate way for you to achieve great success...after that they planned your spiritual journey..What I have see so many gurus after reading someone's kundali and they didn't give veeja mantra they directly gives "Shavar mantra" which is even fastest way than tantra marg..
Answering your 2nd question how to find Guru... There is no specific answer or way how find guru because everyone have their unique way and and experience as well.. suppose you feel connected with Mahadev then one of the best place is like "Ishaa"... Even rajashree sir have his own youtube channel where he guide...

Yup righr when I first started worshipping maa kali I faced lots and lots of problems ..even worshipping maa baglamukhi I faced death like situation and liked I don't want to live anymore this kind a of feelings I felt..yup true...I got heated up ..my head was like someone possessed me ...I wore rudhraksh and after 8 9 months I got cool.

So here is the thing. I am a software architect by profession. I have been living in the US for the last 25 years. Very successful if one looks at my lifestyle and my background. But I am searching for that one thing which is beyond money, suffering, pleasure, achievement and competition. If I want to do chanting of mantras to feel relieved of my stress or whatever why do I need to have a guru ? Why can’t we use learning methods such as watching or reading like Eklavya did. Why do you need to have initiation with a Guru ?
You don't need guru ...I have been chanting murugan beeja mantra ...never get greedy that's where mantra starts to reverse.

Guru takes the responsibility of your wellbeing when 'they're' giving you initiation. Mantras especially Beeja Mantras are extremely powerful and unless you attain the composure to hadle those energies, you shouldn't. Only a Guru can assess correctly if you have attained that level.

True, i started to seriously practise the hare krishna mantra in 2021 without proper guidance. I had many experiences post which i instantly quit all my addications and had a complete change in personality for 8 months. However, because i kept expecting more experiences and better siddhis my tendencies caught hold of me and i ended up dropping it. Now even after a year, I am still facing the repercussions of those actions till date. For example, because i was so detached and up front I couldn't make any friends (i thought i was higher than them) but now I cannot practise such level of detachment without the spiritual energy. Without guidance, i ended up practising a primarily bhakti mantra like a tantric mantra misusing the energy bestowed upon me for peace as a currency to do better materially.
true happened to me as well.. Due to pranayam practice, I experienced something surreal and because of this I could go on and on in carnal things, I felt so powerful that I could virtually make love to thousands and I did not how to contain it. Since then my spiritual experience has evolved but still sometimes I am unable to find direction and it dissipates within weeks. But with maturity I am more settled now and these things do not sound like magic any longer.

Guru as a proper guide is very important to have. Guru is a Teacher and Guru has an experience so that in the path of Tapasya or Mantra Sadhana , we are properly directed and we stay immune to Negative forces. Yes I always and firmly believe , we may do any mantra sadhana or Tapasya , always worship Lord Kaal Bhairav |
Mantra= manayateti rakshati, means by continuous chanting through awareness one can get protected by that mantra

I have an experience. Whenever i worship God Shiv i start feelig that there is something around me. Things move or fall all of a sudden. Of course the explanation i think of is air turbulence, must be kept on an edge that's why it fell, etc. But it happens so often and sometimes i don't even have an explanation. So i shift back to worshipping God Vishnu. And these things stop happening. Some peace of mind for me. 😊

Night I dreamt of wide elephants chasing me & I am running for my life.
Next early morning I had an argument with my father and by 10:30 AM I had an argument with my sister also.I am a kind of guy who avoid the conflict as much as possible and usually don't fight with anyone in months.
