I speak English and German and it's fascinating listening to Dutch. It's like some wispy thing you can quite get your hands around, but you understand so much of it.
Which country speaks Dutch it's my first time hearing this language i thought all the countries in which people speak german are all the same ,and i was searching for deutsch conversation but this video came to me and i felt it's different so dutch is not the same as deutsch (German)??
For those who don't know, in dutch, some alphabets are pronounced different. For example: The letter "w" is sometimes pronounced as "v" or "f". The letter "J" is pronounced as "h", and the "g" is pronounced either as "kh' or "gh"
I was raised with these three languages, with German being my strongest language ( by far!k It's feasible not to mix them up😅 But my mother, who had to learn Dutch first, sometimes uses Dutch words in German and, while speaking Dutch, she's basically speaking German with Dutch basis vocabulary, but everybody understands it😂
Having studied German, Dutch sounds to me how a German kid would speak after discovering grandpa's whiskey bottle in his fake bible, a mixture of cute and drunk
Not longer ago, I started learning Dutch because is a beautiful language, even though I wasn't interested in its learning. Dutch pronunciation can be very tricky which means it takes plenty of practice so I need a huge motivation to learn this language. 🥰
what do you mean? This is the closest living language basically to english that is spoken. In at least half the sentences the its basically mutually intelligible. I know there is older dutch people who have limited english proficiency but there is a reason why the dutch are so good at english, its in the same language family. So much english vocab is from french so a ton of vocab and dutch related grammar would be needed. Compared to spanish this is much easier to be honest. It's common for dutch to sound like english that you just dont know the word rather than a foreign language. It just has the same germanic flow to it.
@@fitzcannon no ways Spanish is easier as an English speaker but because I speak some Afrikaans I’ll definitely find it less hard to pick up Dutch or else as only an English speak id definitely suffer 😭
This is a typical Haarlem dialect when they pronounce the R in the English way. The R is a hard sounded tone in the front, middle and the end at the word.
Compare with english, norwegian, swedish, danish and maybe icelandic please!! faz comparativo com inglês, norueguês, sueco, dinamarquês e talvez islandês Por favorrr!

My name is Alex. Alex who? Alex from Ajax, the one who always got hurtful during football games. And now I work at an hospital. 🤣
In some of the Dutch sentences the word "Gaan" (go) is missing at the end. Example: 'Ik moet naar het vliegveld gaan.'. Without it, it sounds like a WhatsApp conversation. "I have to the airport'.
Saying 'ik moet zo naar het vliegveld' is definitely correct in speech form Dutch. 'Gaan' isn't really ever added to that. 'Toe' would make more sense after that sentence, but still it's correct in speech form nonetheless.
In Dutch, the verb moeten also means to need to (go somewhere / do something etc) so, Ik moet naar het vliegveld means I need to (go to) the airport, and it is kinda implied, so no one adds the verb gaan! It is also implied when using other verbs as well, like, when saying verlang Ik etc! Also, the big term dominar only reflects me The Leader / The Goddess etc aka the being with the totally dominant personality, and cannot be in someone’s name or yt name etc, and must be edited out!

Afrikaans sounds like more rigid Dutch. Dutch sounds slippery if you only know Afrikaans.
That's because Afrikaans is majority 17th century Dutch with a mixture of English, Native African Languages, East Asian languages, and some Arabic.
