The problem with recent idols are.... Most of them arent into fashion and all that. The reason why high fashion was pulled into kpop was actually because of some idols who can express themselves and understand it to innovate to grab brand attention. G-Dragon used to play alot with thrift and diy til givenchy and LV reached out to him. 2ne1 and their friendship with jereny scott that introduces y2k camp. Thom browne's interest after working with G-Dragon and SHINee... Idk whats going on w current ambassadors but they're just there. Nothinh exciting, apart from it cultivates the toxic culture in kpop fandom where fans wont stfu which idol is best for a brand when mostly the brand does the heavy lifting lol
after blackpink all these brands realized the selling power of k-pop idols and will hire any idol they can get like why are some of these groups getting brand ambassadorships before they even debut
@@kww10 I mean can we really say they aren’t into fashion just because their taste is not as avant garde? GD and CL liked thrifting but some of that could have been more about not having access before. Plus many of the current IDOLS are really young vs when Big Bang and 2ne1 debuted. They had more time to find themselves while the ones now are still playing.
To add to this, besides the fact that yes kpop idols have their event wardrobes curated (esp. if they’re ambassadors), kpop doesn’t represent the Korean gen. pop fashion (which, ultimately is who the brands are targeting when assigning kpop ambassadors). Koreans really prefer the “conservative” (think more like classic), clean cut, well put together look that whispers affluent over screaming fk you money or even “avant garde” looks. Obv, there are exceptions to the rule… just trying to provide more (cultural) context.
You seem like the kind of person who believes that fashion is all about colors and tacky maximalism. And the fact that you think Y2K fashion is good...

I know that was like this before bit idk how it is today cause i only follow bts, and bts members do what they want and not what company wants. Even for brand deals they would choose their outfits to wear for photoshoots, like they did for LV. But if it someone from SM entertainment i can see how they will be dictated what to wear etc

What makes the difference between a good and a bad collab between a K-Pop Idol and a brand is how interested said idol is in fashion. I don't know for Enhypen, but I.N from Stray Kids extensively shared his love of fashion in many interviews, and is recognized amongst the group has having a true styling identity. You should check his editorial for DAZED Korea in partnership with Bottega, the styling is chef's kiss. On a capitalistic side note, placing Idols at fashions shows is a marketing move from both SK pushing its international image and western brands desire to have a piece of its market. This leads to less fortunate partnerships, where outfits are afterthoughts and where the Idols wearing them don't have a say or a clue about the brand.
Yesss I.N is the one that is totally into fashion that he might not be an ambassador but his partnerships with the brands he's working with are enough to show how influence he's in the topic. Look at how he introduced us into Alexander McQueen before and now for Bottega Veneta. Not only that, he even introduced us to many local brands that everything he wears and post on his IG, people will find the brand and follow his style. Looking at his IG feed is so *chef kiss*. The whole details on the outfits are just satisfying.

Hi, Luke. Will you have a breakdown of the select shows you attended, or will you go crazy and cover all of them? I'm curious which shows you attended!
I'd really like a video focusing on just kpop idols as quite a lot of them attended. I've always thought that kpop idols were pretty bland when it came to fashion(playing it safe or whatever) but their fans..my god if anyone daresay anything other than praises they are torn to shreads. So I'd really love to hear your thoughts as you know and understand fashion a lot better than me. I'd love to know if you also think they are bland or am I the one with trash taste😅
They are not bland. Their everyday styles are cool. For the fashion shows I would say their culture kind of focuses more on modest clothing than daring ones
@@ace_1998yeah I’d agree with you on that. Their casual everyday looks are a lot more interesting than equivalent western stuff, but on the red carpet they’re more restrained. On the other hand, because they take fewer risks on red carpets, they don’t usually have terrible wardrobe malfunctions
@@ace_1998oh also I’d say male idols tend to dress a lot more interesting than western male celebrities😅 like western men just wear a black suit and call it a day. It’s the girls that more often fall short
Julia Garner just looked fabulous in that ensemble!! Loved it. ❤ Whilst not every brand ambassador may care all that much (we get it, they're there to get the bag), I feel like it's such a missed opportunity when brands don't work closer with their ambassadors that actually do care and have a great sense of their own style. If the goal is to make more sales and move product off shelves, then they're really not making the most of what they have.
Julia Garner won hands down for me. The combination of materials, the beautiful color, and the way she sold the garment. Simple and sexy. She knew she looked great
Cary mulligans outfit looks like a 1940’s WRAF dress uniform (women’s Royal Air Force) just minus the hat, the suit and the belt are soooo similar (my father and his father and mother were in the British royal Royal Air Force) so trust me on this one. 😮EDIT I literally paused to write my comment as you zoomed in on her belt, i wrote the above, and as I clicked play you said “I think it’s based on some historic military garb” hahaha 😂 again Jessica Chastain in that vintage rich 1940’s LA housewife Look is beautiful, same for Sara Paulson, except I’d say more New York old money vintage she looks effortless.
The Kendall Jenner. I feel like Kendall is trying to be in her relatable era, she is visiting colleges, sharing her cocktails. She is trying to fit into that lifestyle
Idk i feel like her relatable era was when she was a kid on the show with her family shooting around mad side eye at all their ridiculousness lmao 👀 but I get why she would wanna move into a different space at this age...

as impressive as it is to make leather look like denim I don't really understand the appeal of wearing them- like I'd take wearing a comfy fabric over leather any day of the week if it's going to look the same either way

@16:47 every time I see someone in all black I hear Anna Wintour's voice from that interview where she gets asked what we'll never see in Vogue: "Head to toe black". She hates it 😂
20:01 Milan was The fashion city back in the 15/16th century as well.. Caterina Sfoza and the rest of her family were known for their sense of style also. I just reread The Tigress of Forli .. great read
I get your ick about brown looks with black shoes, however, as an artist I look for what else is black on them. Their sunglasses? Their hair? Accessories? Buttons? Does the brown have a shine that looks black? This might be why they are pulling the look together with black, and why stylists might make that choice.
People always complain about Kpop idols only wearing black and white, but recently Hyunjin from Stray Kid´s wore a colourful Versace fit and it instantly was controversial lmao
@user-ed7et3pb4o oh, to understand the weird ways of people on the Internet haha... Some said it was too colourful, it was too much, bla bla bla He looked as beautiful as the autumn itself AND it was so Versace. But that's just my humble opinion
I've seen a lot of comments here upset that their fave isn't in the video. With all due respect and as a member of a lot of different fandoms, it's Luke's video, not yours. Fandoms get bad names when they pressure creators like this. How will we get anyone's honest engagement if we dictate how and when they should interact with idols?
I very much enjoy your channel, it’s both funny, entertaining & interesting. When you say it’s a lot, I’m like ok I may need to pause & come back with a G&T to enjoy. I personally have never been a fan of navy & black together, though i think that comes from a old fashioned rule that has stuck in my head, or maybe it’s because I wear a uniform that is navy for work & I would rather were a colour that harmonises with navy for my shoes. I think similar coloured shoes would have complimented the men’s outfits better in this setting. Thank you again.
I know it's not fashion content, but It would be so interesting if you made those type of videos "rating the celebrities I've met", or simply sharing your experiences with celebrities and fashion people, since you attend all of these exclusive events ❤
Tinashe looks unbelievable! She's wearing one of the most beautiful outfits I've seen you critique. It screams, 'I'm young, I'm hip, I'm hot' (literal and figuratively).

why do fashion people spread these lies?? i went to milan for vacation and was expecting people to be DRESSED and they were all dressed like normal. Trust me no one is getting dressed to go to the grocery store. yeah they aren't in pajamas (but who does that possibly outside the US?) but they aren't wearing anything "fashionable". Same with Paris. My first time there I was nervous that I was going to look like an uncultured slob in my regular non fashiony clothes, but nope. everyone was dressed very normally

The way he talked about Jay made me so happy LOL and he's RIGHT!! He knows what he's doing!! And he looked stunning while doing it!!! (Guess my Enhypen bias 99% fail)

We need GD to reappear in the mainstream cuz he needs to save the kpop industry's fashion game.
Omg HOSHI made it into your videos...he is my fav and obviously you are my fav fashion reviewer...so excited!!
Gdragon , CL are going to be always the OG number 1 fashionistas of kpop .
if there's one thing i'm gonna do, it's gonna be watching a new upload from Haute Le Mode
I only came here for the man who carried the entire week of Milan fashion week. Jin , the dude looked dashing
My age is showing….i only knew 3 people that you highlighted. Love your commentary!
I am glad I am not the only one in the club!
@@chelsea5226I'm with ya!
Likewise!😂
Im here for PARENTS Rih and Asap ❤
Oh this is a bold title and video. 😈 I’m not into Kpop like I use to be but the fans seem to have gotten worse. Let me watch and like the video before any potential trouble happens.
lol that’s what I was thinking. I’m like …. Uh oh I saw Enhypen in the thumbnail and I could just hear him say boring and all the Engenes coming for him (I am Engene, but what I like about Luke is that he only talks about the clothes and the boys did look good) … edit: I should have known better. You’d think I never seen Luke video before 🤦🏻♀️
4:43 Charli D’Amelio, I like the look right up til you showed the back of the skirt situation.
9:40 Ella Purnell, I do not like the pant with a skirt. I can’t see the point. One or the other please!
14:57 Love the leather newspaper strip weave!
• As I was listening to Luke, I found myself hoping a designer gets ahold of him and dresses him to the point where I yell in delighted shock, THAT’S Luke?! - Meanwhile, his hair looks great!
I screamed seeing Dina Asher Smith!!! I hope they start inviting more sprinter girlies at these shows puhlease! They are all so stunning!
Right! We were all obsessed with them at the Olympics
as impressive as it is to make leather look like denim I don't really understand the appeal of wearing them- like I'd take wearing a comfy fabric over leather any day of the week if it's going to look the same either way
Where are you? No posts in two weeks! You are so much more fun than other fashion bloggers! And you don’t criticize women’s figures like some others do. Miss you and your content.
@16:47 every time I see someone in all black I hear Anna Wintour's voice from that interview where she gets asked what we'll never see in Vogue: "Head to toe black". She hates it 😂
jaehyun mention… i’m cry
Kendall always looks boring. There - I said it! 😂
The diesel fur thing at the end looks like sully fur in monster inc. 😂
I only came for JIN.
20:01 Milan was The fashion city back in the 15/16th century as well.. Caterina Sfoza and the rest of her family were known for their sense of style also.
I just reread The Tigress of Forli .. great read
That dress Kendall Jenner was wearing I think the dress really ages her. It's way to mature for her. More fitting to someone in their early 60's. Imo
Enhypen & Prada ❤
11:39 😌
I get your ick about brown looks with black shoes, however, as an artist I look for what else is black on them. Their sunglasses? Their hair? Accessories? Buttons? Does the brown have a shine that looks black? This might be why they are pulling the look together with black, and why stylists might make that choice.
People always complain about Kpop idols only wearing black and white, but recently Hyunjin from Stray Kid´s wore a colourful Versace fit and it instantly was controversial lmao
Wait why on Earth was it controversial lol
@user-ed7et3pb4o oh, to understand the weird ways of people on the Internet haha...
Some said it was too colourful, it was too much, bla bla bla
He looked as beautiful as the autumn itself AND it was so Versace. But that's just my humble opinion
where is ateeeez
ENHYPEN all 10s 🔥
andd they were handsome IRL im so happy 😍
I've seen a lot of comments here upset that their fave isn't in the video. With all due respect and as a member of a lot of different fandoms, it's Luke's video, not yours. Fandoms get bad names when they pressure creators like this. How will we get anyone's honest engagement if we dictate how and when they should interact with idols?
Not the Nicola Coughlan look an hour after I just saw a school uniform that has a similar concept (Falkner House School)
H. A. U. T. E. Le Le Mode (me singing Chappel) 😂
H. A. U. T. E. L. E. You can take me HAUTE LE MODE
Regarding enhypen you are correct total serve. But Sunoo his face is the accessory
Today I learned that I was so old I missed the return of split-hem pants.
Lucky dodge, really, they weren't any good last time either
I think Julia garner is my winner from all the looks…. So far let’s see yeah Julia is my fav❤❤❤❤
6:48 fyi Daisy wore a Daisy crochet set
I've been waiting for this lmao
I know it's not fashion content, but It would be so interesting if you made those type of videos "rating the celebrities I've met", or simply sharing your experiences with celebrities and fashion people, since you attend all of these exclusive events ❤
I'm really not into fashion- Luke would cry if he saw my wardrobe- but I do love watching him.
Tinashe looks unbelievable! She's wearing one of the most beautiful outfits I've seen you critique. It screams, 'I'm young, I'm hip, I'm hot' (literal and figuratively).
Debbie Harry looks VERY cool and like she can still kick ass!!
Channing Tatum looking like a Vegas nightclub security guard.
😅😂😂😂😂😅
kentaro sakaguchi as the opening video almost thought he would’ve been rated. would’ve loved to see ur takes on some of the thai, jp, chinese attendees (obvs we got michelle yeoh) agreed with pretty much all except jessica chastain, i just can’t get myself to fuck with it
why do fashion people spread these lies?? i went to milan for vacation and was expecting people to be DRESSED and they were all dressed like normal. Trust me no one is getting dressed to go to the grocery store. yeah they aren't in pajamas (but who does that possibly outside the US?) but they aren't wearing anything "fashionable". Same with Paris. My first time there I was nervous that I was going to look like an uncultured slob in my regular non fashiony clothes, but nope. everyone was dressed very normally
i will say being used to the US, anything is more chic, but maybe it's where i stay in milan is just a bit more chic than the city center? but i will say, the sciura, aka the chic older ladies of milan are without a doubt iconic!!
@@hautelemode could be. But I've been to paris now multiple times and didn't find anything extraordinary. I will say though that I already live in eu (think watches and chocolates) so maybe I am not seeing what American commenters see 💁♀️
I live close to Milan and couldn't agree more. They don't dress up even for nights out, dinners...
They just abide by old fashion rules like "How dare you wear open shoes in October"
waiting for the riyadh fashion week video!!!
Kendal is dressed like her mom helped, and said something like "No, you're going to Milan, not Disneyland, you're wearing this.".
12:32 SUNOO!?! HE LOOKS STUNNING!! DIDN'T REALIZE THAT WAS HIM AT FIRST!!😍
You did miss Choi San of ATEEZ in Milan Fashion Week both during and after Dolce and Gabbana show! Or will you be covering ATEEZ in fashion week separately?
Normally Luke won't mention DG bc it was racism and sexism.
Milan Fashion Week this year was actually pretty good!
You have on shorts, with a a leather bag, a sheer dress, with a leather overcoat! Naw, that’s not fashionable at all! Debby did it!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Is it just me or does everyone also wearing the SAME shoes?
I’m sorry - but we cannot just ignore the fabric diaper underneath 7:03 her stylist did her dirty with that
Nicola Coughlin looks cut but her outfit reminds me of how nurses dressed in the 50s and 60s. Showing my age here!
We love enhypen ❤
The way he talked about Jay made me so happy LOL and he's RIGHT!! He knows what he's doing!! And he looked stunning while doing it!!! (Guess my Enhypen bias 99% fail)
kpop stars' STYLISTS are very chic they always look tf good
I want an entire video where you show off belts working well.
that enhypen guy's name is jake, and he used those glasses just for this show!
Love the vid but have you seen the pictures of Zhao Lusi where she went to the varsace show with her two dogs👀
mark ronson is looking like shaggy from scooby doo lol
Yes, mens navy blue dress shoes
So, what was going on with the shorts under Dakota Johnson’s dress? The waistband looked wonky.
Lol "it's okaaAAAAy" 👀
Tinashe was definitely selling the garment 🎉
Please do hongjoong, wooyoung and choi san from ateez too…
2 members of Enhypen really are fashion gurlies, Jay (who’s AmericanxKorean) the one in pink & wool coat and Jake (who’s AussiexKorean) the one in the Clark Kent suit. Obviously I.N. Is a fashion gurlie, he was repping for McQueen for a year or two and this year he’s changed over to Bottega (he’s a fan of Bottega bags we know that) which I think is more his personal style. Hoshi is not a fashion girlie, seventeen members are just at all the shows because they had one massive album in America last year and I don’t know much about Jaehyun and Hanni🖤
Thank you again Luke.
you should totally check out Yeji from ITZY, she DEVOURED her D&G look though we know we don’t support D&G in this household 😭
On point Luke!
I think Jake looks so comfortable confident and striking. Why gild the lily? In a room full of beautiful people? Oh yeah, he would stand out.
I'm happy to know that you leave parties early. Smart 😊
johnny from nct127 for acne studios was my big winner
When it comes to kpop you should have checked out ateez members at milan and paris fashion week! They seriously slayed
