The best person by far to explain genie + I was an oldie passholder use to the fast pass system. Genie really confused me. But you just explain it so well!! ❤
30:05 I thought for sure we'd have a PSA about not climbing over the barriers that Disney has in place. What on earth was she doing? Thanks for another informative and entertaining Genie+ video!
I hear on various channels that you should consider taking a break from the parks to go back to your hotel room for downtime. This feels like it would take at least 3 hours out of your day. Perhaps you could do a video about how long it really takes for a time out and how long each trip from the park takes depending on your hotel.
At Disney, 3 hrs is about right, especially if you're using Disney transportation. Also, you can try to create some downtime while staying in the parks. Tom Sawyer Island at MK, has scenic places to just chill out in and play checkers, for example. However, if you are exhausted, I suggest getting some rest and heading back in the evening for dinner or fireworks.
my husband and I went last September, we would rope drop then between noon- 1pm we'd head back to our resort to enjoy the resort, nap and rest for a couple hours then head back out around 5-6pm it was wonderful.
@LoryLovesPink That's a great way to do it. My family will do the same. However, for 1st timers, it's going to be different. The excitement and the desire to get as much from the park as possible can be very stressful. So much so that families will push through to a 10hr day. The reason I mentioned the in park option is that some families are staying off property, and getting to and from the parks can be a HUGE time chunk if they didn't drive their own vehicle. By the time they get back to their hotels, they may not even want to go back out.
So you spend a fortune on park tickets just to go back to your resort for a nap?? Wow… In hundreds of park days over the last 30+ years we’ve never felt the need to waste precious park times.. I’ll sleep when I’m dead😉😉
Great video and love this series. You are really one of the best for learning how to utilize Genie + to its maximum and that is what we did for our trip (family of 5) back at the end of June. Cheers!
Great tips about Genie + , we were there last year in July and went to all four parks. We stayed at the Disney Movie Resort and we got to the parks at 7:00 o’clock every morning and did the rope drops. Well needless to say that I got back home with a stress fracture in my lower right leg. But it was worth it and we are going back next year. GOD BLESS 🙏🏾🥰💖💯💫
Not only does EPCOT have fewer rides offered by Genie+…. they are also spread out across a very large area resulting in a LOT of extra time & energy walking & backtracking. Something to consider when determining the value of Genie+.
One thing to think about is that kids do like riding things more than once so we used rope drop to get on some heavy hitters and then use genie+ to ride them again. It made them so happy to experience favorites more than once so the cost was worth it. That trick worked really well at Animal Kingdom & Hollywood (Toy Story specifically) too.
Loving this series! You mentioned the Extended Hours option for Deluxe resort guests. It would be really helpful to see you do MK and/or Epcot Extended Hours to show us the best use of that time.
Molly, we love your Barbie tshirt. We have just arrived in Florida for the first time and have been following your vlogs for over a year and felt ready to rumble here. Got my first Shaky Jamaky on Monday. If we see you we have Real Jammie Dodgers from the UK in our bags for you and Alan and Max. Lisa x
As always, this video is super informative, fun, and helpful! Another stat that I find useful is to break down how much it cost per hour saved. Here, you spent $4.86 for an hour of time. That's kinda hard to thumb your nose at when you consider what you're able to enjoy during that time! I'll be using this video to help justify my planning for a short park day at Epcot the day we arrive in Florida. We're able to walk from Boardwalk (thanks, DVC rental store!) after enjoying the resort for a few hours, and I'll have our three lightning lanes to Remy's, Frozen and Soarin stacked and waiting for us. Maybe they'll even have a new nighttime fireworks show by then (not travelling till Spring). Thanks, Molly and Mammoth Club!
It’s the smells for me on Soarin Around the World. You can actually smell the scent of water and the dirt. My granddaughter has a body mist that smells like Soarin I love it.🥰🙏🏾
A mid day break is a huge help...the group can only go as long as the weakest (not being insulting...just mean the first to crash) we always try to stay at Pop...skyliner back. .nap!!! Return late afternoon....
This was very helpful, my son (19) and I are going back for a few days during our HHN stay and haven’t been in years. I had no idea how to even attempt Genie+. I can’t thank you enough, I feel like I will now be able to use it to our benefit!
A French trash can table time is so OOOH LA LA!! I am loving this series because I can relive our trip and also make plans for rides we didn't get to ride for our next trip! Always planning the next one!!!!
I saw one of the best Turtle Talks in DCA when this darling little 8 year old boy with big glasses asked Crush about taxes. When Crush asked if he knew what taxes were he went into this very detailed explanation and was 100% correct! Crush and all of us were very impressed. It was too funny. Gotta love what kids come up with.
I'm binge-watching your videos for my trip in November!! I love all of your tips, tricks, and secrets about the parks. I look forward to your videos all week 😊
Love your videos Molly! If you had done single rider Test Track, I don't think the lightning lane would be beneficial. Given that and the very little benefit from Soarin, it really appears there are only two rides that have very long waits where Genie Plus is useful. (Unless, of course, riding single rider is not possible) So if those are taken into account, that makes Remy and Frozen Genie Plus Lightning Lanes $9 each. Still less than the ILLs for each of them when they were ILLs.... However, I think there is a very important math point you are missing. The price of the average admission ticket (which varies GREATLY depending on type of ticket, number of days, season, etc.) turns out to be about $110/person /day without a hopper. Taking this value, that makes 11 Genie + attractions plus 5 non-Genie plus movies and 1 ride for a total of 17 attractions. This makes each attraction's actual cost about $6.50 before Genie Plus. Using your calculations, only 3 rides are worth buying Genie Plus, so each is an extra $6. Adding that to the ticket price means you are paying $12.50 to ride Soarin if you buy Genie plus. Disney math is interesting. ;)
Genie + science is wonderful. I used all of your tips and tricks when I was in the parks in mid June so thank you! Also, Mission Space is the WORST! I literally fainted on the ride and have zero recollection of the ride.
Hi Molly thank you for the Genie tips. I knew how it worked but watching your previous videos I have definitely learned some new tricks. With the grabbing of LL at 7am, I was able to get LL very quickly!!! Thanks for your tips.
I would be super interested to see this series, but as how you would use it if you were visiting on a normal day. No challenge- see what the breakdown is and if you think it’s worth it!
Watching your videos leading up to me and my wife’s trip recently really helped us “conquer” the parks and our time. Only thing we had trouble with was when we started to scan into lightning lanes in the evenings it wouldn’t allow us to book another lightning lane. It kept saying we had a wait time going.
@@Mamalife0015 it only seemed to happen the last two days, during the late afternoon or evening. Which we had dining plans and along with wait time strategy had rode everything we really wanted to. So we didn’t look into it to much. And I forgot to talk to a cast member before we left about it.
Could Alan do a video about his favorite food options that fill him? I just know my husband eats a lot and usually I hear people say that food will feed them and others and I look at it and think my husband could eat that all on his own and still be hungry 😂
Visited EPCOT on 7/22/23…didn’t use Genie+ and still rode EVERY ride in the park. Guardians was virtual queue and did have to book that first thing. The only rides with big waits were Frozen and Remy (both posted 70 min, but probably more like 55-60 min). Everything else wasn’t much of a wait at all. I wouldn’t waste money on Genie+ at EPCOT, but be prepared to buy a LL for Guardians IF you don’t get a VQ or if your party wants to ride a second time.
Ah, Trash can table time......am admitting that my son was horrified that when we were in the Mexico pavilion there were no tables for me to do my tequila flight and did the flight off the trash can......happy memories!!!
Very helpful, but I wonder if a better metric might be Cost per minute saved as opposed to Cost per worthwhile ride. Doing the math from this video is seems to work out to roughly $0.08 per minute. I want to go back and do the same for the HS video. It'll be interesting once all four videos are up to see if the overall cost per minute is similar (obviously taking into account fluctuations in crowds and purchase cost)
I still love to watch because I love EPCOT ... but the answer is not for me, LOL. I'm only there for Livin' with the Land, Spaceship Earth and then the foooooooooood.
Is there a different price tier for hopper days? Example: Your first park is Animal Kingdom and hop to say Magic Kingdom later in the day. Do you pay the AK price or MK price for genie+?
An interesting stat would be cost per hour saved - makes you think about how much your park time is worth. Also, I must be a weirdo, because I’m fine on Mission Space Orange, but I cannot handle either Star Tours or Flight of Passage. Maybe it’s my glasses… 🤓😵💫
I'm looking forward to a Disney vacation soon. So learning how to use the Genie is great knowledge. Each Park is definitely different for the use of Genie. If you are hopping, you can buy Genie + for the park you are hopping to and you don't need to buy the multipark Genie plus, but you will only be able to book the attractions once their times get past 2 pm. So if you are hopping to Hollywood Studios, for example, you could book Slinky Dog Dash at 7 am since those times go fast. I love these comparison video but am curious to know how much total time you're in the park. Is it possible to give the times you started & finished in a park? Anxiously waiting another new video!! 😊
When I rode it last, in 2005m there was only the orange… I didn’t do so bad, but I was 15 at the time… I struggled in Smuggler’s Run last April… definitely not even trying the green side now 😂
I wish Disney would add multiple places to go on Soaring so you don’t know which one you were going to see. Keep smells the same for easy transition between different films / music/ locations.
Hey Molly we are going in September. Is it essential to buy Genii plus at midnight the before. Do they sell out alot? I hate the idea of staying up till midnight and then having to get up so early to book the first Genii plus. This is one part i hate about Genii plus.
I’m concerned about trying to schedule rides around character meals. Bringing the GD who will be 6 for her first visit. Your videos have certainly helped. Thank you!
maybe they will redo Soarin' after they finish the construction in World Celebration as that part of the ride where you return to EPCOT looks really outdated now!
When you do the refresh strategy and change to a new time or attraction, does your 120 min rule start over or does it continue counting from the original pick time?
If you're park hopping for a day and can't enter your second park until 2pm how does genie+ work? 🤔 Can you reserve rides for both parks or just the first park? Is it worth it? Were doing a one day park hopper in September, only wanting to visit Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom as we've been before but not sure if genie + would work for our day? 🤔 I miss the old Disney fast pass system 😢
Yay for Mr. Eel! Its been a hot minute since we got to see him. Glad he is doing well!

Glad to see mister eel again!
The lack of wait for soarin and mission space is kind of crazy to me. I remember desperately trying to get fast passes for both when they opened.
Soaring’ Over California was awesome. It’s now Soarin’ Over the World and it’s CGI trash. It’s a once and done for regular guests.
Just saw Alan and Molly at food and wine festival
haha - love the Eel voice.
Good morning, Mam fam!
Thanks for another great video! Also, I love your Barbie shirt. I saw Barbie yesterday, and it was a great movie!
I can’t wait for my vacation to Disney world on February !!!!!

Omg that’s terrifying! I warn everyone about that ride. No one talks about the claustrophobic nature of that ride, either. That’s what really got me.
Hi Molly thank you for the Genie tips. I knew how it worked but watching your previous videos I have definitely learned some new tricks. With the grabbing of LL at 7am, I was able to get LL very quickly!!! Thanks for your tips.
You're presentations are fun and very academic. Thank you Molly!
Hey Molly good vlog and thank you and keep up the good you do love jarl ❤
Thank you Molly 💖 singing along to "trash can table time, it's trash can table time" 🤗
I would be super interested to see this series, but as how you would use it if you were visiting on a normal day. No challenge- see what the breakdown is and if you think it’s worth it!
I love Journey into Imagination with Figment but oh lord does it need a referb
The upside down house itself is just sooooooooo filthy
Love you tips as always Molly. I find that I need genie for two rides there. Test track and ratatouille
Molly you make genie + look so easy. 💐 thanks for showing the benefits
Love Ratatouille ride!
Liked and commented purely for the return of Mr. Eel
1. Love the Barbie shirt!😊
2. Thank you for doing these.
3. How's Moana looking?
Thanks for all your wonderful reviews.

Can you do a video on the extended evening park hours? Any tips appreciated!
omg I just realized now that jessica pearson from suits is in the mission space preshow... truly amazing
I have a question about stacking. Did you book all 3 of the lighting lanes at 7am when booking opened?
Regarding tapping in at lightning lanes we just used our physical tickets and it was fast except that i had mine and my 2 son's so that took some extra time. By tge 2nd day my toddler was also grabbing the ticket to "help" me tap which complicated thi gs but was so cute.
The movie Awesome planet, in the Land, is a good place to catch a nap.

How long do you think it would take to get from all star movies or Disney springs to the contemporary
Hoping you do the same for MK before I arrive on August 5! Great vlogs!
Why do I cackle like a fool every time Molly does Mr. Eel’s voice? “He” sounds like the creepy old man Herbert from Family Guy.
I love these comparison video but am curious to know how much total time you're in the park. Is it possible to give the times you started & finished in a park?

I think this vid started about 1pm after she'd stacked LLs
Very helpful. Thank you!
Barbie car at Test Track great corporate cross over 😁
Mr. Eel!!! It’s been a while! Glad you are doing well! ❤
Did you already stack before coming to the park?
Can you stack while not being in the park? or do you have to be in the park after you made your 7am booking to continue to book more?
