I've watched hours and hours of videos and personal accounts, from the time this happened 'til the present, many before and after shots, including some of your previous vids. Half way through this and I just started weeping, tears rolling down my cheeks. I've been a weather watcher and enthusiast since my early teens. We've all seen storm damage from hurricanes and tornados, from rivers flooding, but I've NEVER seen anything of this magnitude. The devastation, the destruction, the loss is unbelievable. For many, things will never be the same ... with that said, I've watched the people come together to help each other try to get their lives back to normal .. people from miles away volunteering, the donations, the selflessness .. and that makes my heart smile.
This haunts our hearts. I know these people. Not all their names, but, drive by their homes to and from work, fishing, community activities. So terribly sad. Praying always.
This is beautifully done but my heart still hurts to watch. This piece of God's country will never be the same again. Thank you for taking the time to document and share each video.
@@donhaze8131 WOW. What the...I never saw that, I promise you. That is wild. Had I seen it I would have been all over it. I need to go see if it's still there..
Thank you for sharing your videos. Heartbreaking to see the destruction there in the region. Reminding us the power of Mother Nature. Prayers and love to all.
Until the kayakers see it and file suit over the state disturbing the river! A “Cease and Desist” order was placed against CSX railroad because of a lawsuit for the same thing due to these groups who were hell bent to stop CSX from rebuilding their railroad!
Thank you for making and sharing your videos. Very emotional to watch them. You show me what it looks like there where my family is that I wouldn't be able to see. So thank you again.
@@joanne-hq9un You're welcome. Glad to be someone attempting to bridge the gap between us and the outside. Although I still haven't come close to capturing the enormity.
County state federal government should be held accountable for the Travis Travis to have done to the American citizens billions and billions of dollars overseas
I’ve “survived” hurricanes down here, & lost “everything;” that said, THIS vid (of YOUR destruction makes MY situation seem like a cartoon! ( BTW… we bathed in rivers, too; “mankind WILL SURVIVE!!”) PLEASE TAKE CARE… 🥰🥰
I'm from Burnsville and this is the greatest national disaster America has had. They're still finding bodies. Also, there are 2 silicon mines in Spruce Pine that have the purest minerals in the world. All cell phones, new cars, and computers use these parts. Only 2 other mines come close to the purity of the mineral; Brazil and Russia. But they're not as pure. The smaller mine has reopened, but not the larger. It needs to be reopened as quickly as possible. Please look and talk about Spruce Pine mines. May God and America help this area. They desperately need us.
Still as shocking as the day it happened. Thanks for the video. Great music choice!
@@djm322 Yeah, it's just as intense. Except it's slowly becoming the norm.

Today they found a father and seven year old boy in debris. Like you I have kept up on this disaster but that father son today hit me pretty hard.

Excellent as always! Thanks for taking the time to share this!
The water line inside of the building that is already 25 feet above the river is just unfathomable.
I like the box at 9:35. Nice touch.

Where is the place that has the white cat hanging around?
That was on the Yancey County side of the Relief Bridge. It was meowing for someone to take it home.
My heart hurts.
