it was interesting to see the "are you in the hunt" series of questions. I think it boils down to 2 very different life philosophies. In America, we have this culture of always having to be "busy" at something, to be doing something, and I think it means that we've lost sight of what it means to just allow oneself to simply be. I'm not sure the host grasps this concept. Georges is looking for a life where when he gets up in the morning, there are no demands on his time that he didn't put there. A life where there are no obligations. That is true freedom. To be in full control of the only truly finite resource in your life - time. Georges seems to indicate that he gave it his all, burnt himself out to be amazing at something and that he's ok if there's not something else in his lifetime that he has to outcompete someone at. I don't think that here in America we understand very well that you don't always have to be competing, or comparing yourself to someone else, or always have to be the best at something. We're not familiar or comfortable with the concept of having "enough". Georges has made enough money to not have to outcompete other people for resources to live the kind of life that he wants to - kudos to him for that. He has nothing left to prove and has turned his energies inwards towards being the best Georges he can be, and that is good enough, he doesn't have to be the best podcaster, car salesman, or anything else to feel validated and at peace. And that's OK.
Peace comes within you. You don't chase it. I felt the host being very annoyed with the guest philosophy of life! I don't know if it's just me or is there any truth to that.
