    Ballbearing steel is IMHO, the most underated steel for making knives. Marketing has turned people into supersteels but I still prefer ballbearing steel, to any supersteel on the market. It's simply magic stuff! It's a quality tool steel, that If it was easier to make knives out of it, it would be as popular as 3V, 1095 etc

    I make all my knifes from bearings because thier not too hard and very good quality

    That way to wrap the handle is cheap and easy great way to cop out on making a handle or scales

    That was pretty cool. I have to admit if I was to try this I'd start by annealing the metal first. Those bearing components can be hard enough to shatter. Probably completely unnecessary though.

    I did it first, last week....
    and made it into a sword also, that cuts through time. But works better as a butter knife.....It's been blessed by the gods and will fly to me when it feels I'm in danger and cuts my enemies down before they're even born....

    Excellent. I've been playing with 52100 bearing races too. Some heat treaters suggest 2 normalizing cycles and annealing. Any other information you can send me. I have access to a fair amount of this steel because of where I work

    Did u grind the cold shut out of the edge? Or is it hidden in there still? Good looking blade. Could have done a tang, and simple case handle similar to a tanto. Looks good though

      That's an old rusty and looks to be broken potato/ apple peeler he probably got at the scrap yard and no doubt plans to restore it or somehow give it a new life on Jake's other UA-cam channel.
