Ballbearing steel is IMHO, the most underated steel for making knives. Marketing has turned people into supersteels but I still prefer ballbearing steel, to any supersteel on the market. It's simply magic stuff! It's a quality tool steel, that If it was easier to make knives out of it, it would be as popular as 3V, 1095 etc
Parabéns meu amigo sua faca fico tp dimais tenho vontade de te uma dessa mais infelizmente náo tenho condisáo de compra ak nu brazil as coisasa sáo muito difiçil trabalho na roça pra comé
Lana holms.... wow, you need to get a life...if you search for 2yr old comments to rebutt or make negative comments about...that's pretty pathetic...LOL
That was pretty cool. I have to admit if I was to try this I'd start by annealing the metal first. Those bearing components can be hard enough to shatter. Probably completely unnecessary though.
I did it first, last week.... and made it into a sword also, that cuts through time. But works better as a butter knife.....It's been blessed by the gods and will fly to me when it feels I'm in danger and cuts my enemies down before they're even born....
Excellent. I've been playing with 52100 bearing races too. Some heat treaters suggest 2 normalizing cycles and annealing. Any other information you can send me. I have access to a fair amount of this steel because of where I work
Hey man I think your work is fantastic. I would love to see u calibrate with Alec steele. He's in Montana now. Check him out. I think you guys would make great stuff all would love to buy.
Did u grind the cold shut out of the edge? Or is it hidden in there still? Good looking blade. Could have done a tang, and simple case handle similar to a tanto. Looks good though
Jake, you make effort to make "Beautifull Knife" and video of it being made, however from aprox. 7:58 there is visible beautiful tool laying trashed in dust and myssery, is it not ironic....?
That's an old rusty and looks to be broken potato/ apple peeler he probably got at the scrap yard and no doubt plans to restore it or somehow give it a new life on Jake's other UA-cam channel.

That way to wrap the handle is cheap and easy great way to cop out on making a handle or scales
Thanks for the Inspirational Vid. I had wheel almost fall off my truck. I'm making knives from the Bearing Races.
Parabéns meu amigo sua faca fico tp dimais tenho vontade de te uma dessa mais infelizmente náo tenho condisáo de compra ak nu brazil as coisasa sáo muito difiçil trabalho na roça pra comé
No wood?!!!!! Same stile like always!!!!! The wood makes knives more beautiful and charming.
Good contents
The 3rd song on this video and other videos is the most epic (neverending story ) sounding
I love this handle wrap, I totally didn't see it coming. You are the man.
Simple and easy , good job
You never cease to amaze me what you can do with junk metal...nice
That's not junk metal. 52100 is not junk by junk you make it sound as if he's making knifes from old car bumpers..
Lana holms.... wow, you need to get a life...if you search for 2yr old comments to rebutt or make negative comments about...that's pretty pathetic...LOL
Absolutely beautiful blade! You always find new ways to impress your viewers.

It wasn't a bearing to begin with, it was a Race. The bearing is still on the bench.

Tempered it for 3 hours at 350 what degree celsius or Fahrenheit.
Muito bom, belo trabalho

Very nice, but handle is not strong enough , next time use fiber glass or bone
It's steel or iron?
What is the second song that you played? It's driving me nuts because I know it's from a movie but I can't remember what movie
