Saucony's Ride line usually becomes heavily discounted after a while so this will provide an even greater value proposition for those runners on a tight budget. An excellent update from Saucony. Best wishes and Merry Christmas Edd! 🎄
I like the way those lace loops allow the laces to lie nice and flat. They look sturdy enough, unlike some the ones that are more of a string than a flat little band.
Thanks for the review! I think I mentioned my wife running in Triumphs since the single digits and after your review, she's sticking with the Triumph(also her feet are not that wide so no need for the extra room). If it works for her, she mentioned no reason to change up.
Cool video...yeah the Saucony Ride 15 is OK... Good one to suggest to someone for their first pair of proper running shoes for roads use all year round or May-September use offroad (if its still on sale)
with saucony ride, it's the upper that gives up first. i don't worry about outsole and midsole. they are still good when upper gets holes in high pressure areas
Got this earlier this week and it's quickly become my daily trainer of the year. I wanted the Novablast 4 to be that but the updates from the 3 just made it feel dead to me. This was everything I wanted from a Ride update, a little more roomy, a bit more capable, basically just a baby triumph since the 20/21 just didn't work for me. Makes me very excited for the rest of Sauconys new releases for 2024 if they are coming out swinging this hard with the Ride
I went to a Christmas concert at Symphony Hall this week and the CBSO played music from your “favourite” film and Mariah’s hit song. Sounded good with a live orchestra. Merry Christmas 🎄
The part when Grandad goes in to the pet shop is very underrated... "I've never sold an emergency canary before" 🤣 Merry Christmas to you and all the family! 🎅🎄
Those eyelets do worry me. Can’t see them lasting the duration of the shoes life. But having very wide feet perhaps I need to go for the Ride over the Triumph?
Completed two 17k runs so far Lockdown is very poor, everything is too stretchy. I have stopped twice on runs Trend - average. Wet leaves are a issue Fit - poor lockdown means, Slippage and potent blisters. Personally I would go up half a size Comfort - medium soft, perfect for me with a little kick. Shaved a few seconds of my average pace already Good to have in rotation, however not the main shoe
Merry Xmas to you and your family young man🎅, as you know had numerous injuries . So earlier in the year, tried Saucony Ride 15 and with someone with high arches/supination issues - this shoe is the dogs 🥜 and as you know I have tried numerous shoes, but found this shoe comfortable/stable and suitable for all my training needs. So your review of the 17 has peaked my interest, as they have updated the foam, but conscious of the weight increase. Might just buy the cheap 16 for the time being. Keep up the good work Sir.
Have the Ride 15, a great looking shoe but two issues, the midsole was too hard for long runs and the outsole never looked clean, but really good on shorter runs, the 17 looks good too, happy Christmas.
Thinking of buying this shoe for my London marathon training, leave the more expensive trainers I have for race day. Have a great Christmas Edd. Great work!!!!
What was the make of your shoe box's behind you, the saucony didn't excite me as you can tell. As always love your reviews that's why I need some shoe storage cause i keep buying shoes ,so i need storage otherwise the dog will be at them again.Have A Great Christmas .
Probably not picking this one up. I've been doing a fair bit of miles in the Hyperion Max lately that I got on discount and still keep going back to the Deviate Nitro 2, which is getting getting up there in miles. I'm thinking of replacing that with the Boston 12 as my next "do everything" shoe.
I bought these after loving the brand and a similar model... and I did not get one run in before the back of my heels were a bloody mess. It felt like the back of the shoe was too high and firm... and so it cut into the back of my heel... I took them back to the store the next day and showed them my heels and they immediately reimbursed me... but has anyone else had this with this model? I am a daily runner and never had this yet!
Funny how Adidas dropped Boost foam because of being viewed as too heavy and too old and yet Saucony are using the exact same foam with success !!!! Best foam imo for daily runs. So resilient.
For someone who is getting just one pair of shoes, this one or the Triumph 21? Which one is easier to o pick up the pace for a forefoot striker? Thank you so much.
Not sure how I feel about the new Ride: it’s heavier, wider, and they’ve changed the lacing system. What I really like about the 15 is it’s light weight, doesn’t feel bulky, and it’s lacing system just works really well for me. I’m in no rush to pick up a new pair as my current shoes have plenty of life left in em, but I was planning to pick up whatever iteration of the Ride was around when the time came. I’ll need to try it and see… and the Boston while I’m at it. Another great Christmas movie - Gremlins!
Sir which other Nike/other shoe would your recommend?I tried the Nike Invincible 3 But didn't like it due to the heel sliding issue. I need a daily shoe with max cushioning.
So, no PEBAX, yet, for a pair of daily trainers that costs you £135... mumbling... mumbling... with the current Christmas offers the Pro 3 cost the same and it's clearly a different pair of shoes.

Heya Ed 👋 The full-length power run+ in the Ride series is a thing of beauty. 👌
Indeed it is!
Thanks for another review Edd. Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅
Happy holidays!
Your stack measurements are spot on in your size.
Thanks 👍🏼

There’s definitely a difference in the foam here. Subtle but different.

Yeah a it’s a solid ( yet cushioned ) offering
Merry Christmas Edd and to Mrs. Edd Bud - Mrs. Charlotte Bud, respectfully, as well! Looking forward to more of your videos next year!
Much appreciated! Have a great Christmas 🎄
Merry Christmas Edd. Warm wishes and happy feasting. 🎄

Maybe with an orchestra I could enjoy it. 🤣👍🏼
Love the shoe. My favourite shoe of the last few yrs.
It’s not bad at all just prefer the triumph
I'm a heavier runner wanting to push the distance and I'm torn between the Triumph 21 and the Ride 17. Very nice review, by the way.
I think the triumph is a slightly better shoe but there isn’t much in it
I have ride 16s done around 200 miles arguably the comfiest show Ive worn for running and still a lot of life left in them!
Glad they work out well for you
Great review 🎉
Thank you 🤗

Merry Christmas to you and all the family! 🎅🎄
I’m hoping for a “Body Language” book.
Have a really Christmas cracker Sir 🎄👍🏼
Hey Ed great vid as always!
Wanted to ask what’s your current personal daily trainer?
Like the Boston 12 for everything at the mo
That outsole on the kinvara would be great.
ur kidding right? That outsole is terrible
I can totally get behind national lampoons Christmas vacation damn fine movie
The best Christmas film! Joy to the world!
@@EDDBUD definitely the best, love cousin Eddy

Bit more width to the midsole. Less conventional upper
1st human that's also not a bot or alien

This one could come in handy down the line. Hope you stay injury free 👍🏼
Planes, Trains and Automobiles classic
Now we are talking. That film is seriously underrated. Reminds me I need to buy new shower curtain rings.

Quite the changes from the 15. The midsole is nice and cushioned.
Those Jordan 5s!!👀 Very nice
Have you ever done a retro street shoe review?
May do something like this very soon
@@EDDBUD sounds good EMB! Don't forget the sleeper, Reebok C85 Vintage.
Icing sugar.😂Merry Christmas Edd!
Happy holidays!

Could be a good bet. Though check out the triumph 21. It’s like a maxed version of it.

Some cube. They are really easy to put together.

Sad these are not working out. Seemed fine to me in terms of fit
OMG the colourway 🔥🔥🥹🥹🥹🥹💯🎄
It’s very bird yellow
Basically a Triumph this one Ed 😅
🥉
What would be the better options for road to trail that you reference at 9.45?
Peg trail. Even the Pegasus standard model. More lugs and traction.
Funny how Adidas dropped Boost foam because of being viewed as too heavy and too old and yet Saucony are using the exact same foam with success !!!! Best foam imo for daily runs. So resilient.
It’s not quite the same stuff. I don’t think it’s sourced from 3M
Not from 3M indeed but same beaded TPU. Feels looks and weighs the same as Boost which is good since i've akways been a Boost fan....@@EDDBUD
For someone who is getting just one pair of shoes, this one or the Triumph 21? Which one is easier to o pick up the pace for a forefoot striker? Thank you so much.
Triumph all the way. More up for it and versatile.

Vomero 17 is good for daily use
@@EDDBUD Thankyou Sir.😊
Sir I wanted to get the ASICS superblast but not able to get it as it is out of stock ,any similar ASICS shoe which I can get ?
Nothing else is quite like the Superblast. I would wait
A WILD NIMBUS 26 APPEARS
Running in that one this morning. Takes some break in time
Hi Edd! Would you say this is a bit closer to Triumph 17?
To the 17? Bit more pop than that. Less tongue padding and better outsole.
@@EDDBUD swesome. thanks! I'm still rocking the Triumph 17s. they are crazy durable. I suppose going 'down' with the Ride 17 is an upgrade!
Did you find these true to size Ed? ❤
Yes true to size on these
@@EDDBUD thanks Ed 🙌
Yellow!
Yes it’s really really yellow. Not in a high vis way. Mine look more like a mustard now
In preparation for the marathon 68 kg, pace CL 4':25" for the very long distances, are these new rides better? Or triphum
I don’t see why not. It’s not the lightest though
Is this shoe better for wide footed people? Also how are workouts on this shoe? I heard the durability was amazing but I also want to push.
It’s a wide last and very durable
❤
🥇
Which shoe would be best for 75% walking, 25% running - Ride 17 or Triumph 21?
Probaly the ride. Both are very high levels of cushion though
happy xmas @ll 🏃♂️
🎄👍🏼
@@EDDBUD ...no Mariah Carey, thats for sure!
It's official saucony ruined ride series - I never liked thriumph so no more ride for me, which was not existing but pretty good daily beater
Triumph is a good version this time round
Can you please do a Jordan sneaker review…..especially if you are going to make Jordan references in this current video!!!

i was interested in this until i heard the weight and firmness. just not my cup of knees, er, tea
