It’s the New Zealand Christmas tree. Beautiful flowers. Saw lots when I was visiting my daughter in New Plymouth. I got some of that yarn last year for socks. 😁❤️
Ali, if you're finding many of the WoW advent fibres aren't best suited to felting, and are wanting to do both felting and spinning, I'd suggest buying a couple of Ashford corridale colour packs. There are 100g packs with 7 colours each sold for around $13 aud, the fibre is ideal for felting, and the colour packs give you a selection of a cohesive colour palette. They also sell bigger boxes with many colours too. Then you could use the fibre advents you don't want to felt to try different spinning techniques, because they are just small amounts. I did something similar when I was learning to spin, and it really helped me to try different methods on a small amount. I've also been finding that the sample minis I make, along with scraps of my precious handspun, are great for striping in scrappy projects.
I'm always amazed what you and Dan can eat with your UC/IBS. Jalepenos are not allowed on my diet. We all go back and forth on our craft of choice at any particular moment. Knitting will come back around 🧶
Lovely idea , Dan to get takeout pizza. No scullery duties then, eh? Eh? I'm on to you, Mister. Have a peaceful Sunday, Ali et al. Rest and recharge.xx
Interesting pohutakawa only grow 'naturally'in north island. We are up in wellington from the south island and are enjoying seeing the pohutakawa coming into bloom.
Love that cute office tree!! And beautiful smile Ali! 😁 My crew loves pizza and jalapeno poppers too! 🍕 Btw, cheddar or cream cheese for jalapeños? Very nice yarns, OMG THAT CURATED YARNS ONE AAAAAH! 😍😍😍😍 Also love the Green Lambkin minis! So bright and pretty!
Wait until you are in your mid sixties Ali, I start a conversation, then wish I hadn’t bothered as all the much needed words have emptied from my brain. Thank you for vlogging. ❤❤
Yay for New Zealand! Pohutukawa is actually a native tree, which blooms over summer and at times is called a New Zealand Christmas tree. The colours in the fibre are the colours of the tree, with its bright red flowers. I cant add a photo but have a google :) Its pronounced Po-hu-tu-kawa (if that helps!)
Pah-hoot-a-cow-a!!! As a transplanted Kiwi. A tree that blooms around Christmas. Also - I get a kick out of you trying to pronounce the German tea! Not that I could either. But it makes me smile!
Hi Ali I've only just caught up with your videos but loving the content so far. I did get an yarn advent from wee county yarns including a scarf pattern but have yet to start it. Love the colours in your yarn advent, very pretty. Anyway, thankyou for taking the time to do vlogmas again and hopefully I'll see you on tomorrow's video.
Love all the yarns in your advents! I think next year I might switch it up and choose one for myself, we have some amazing dyers here in NZ so I should have plenty of choice. Agree with someone else that your lack of concentration struggles could well be peri menopause 😊 Also, I’m not filming Vlogmas but I think I’ve caught your cold 🤧😵💫
Yeah I can relate with the attention span issues. It is like not being myself. Pretty freaky in the beginning. I just keep reminding myself that it will go away in a few years if I am lucky
The bright pink scarf is gorgeous 🧣 Would you please list the pattern if known? Relaxed now after watching a few of your Vlogmasses tonight. Happy weekend! 🧶🤗🎄🧶
I haven't worked for a few years now as I took over the care of my dad full time. I was talking with a friend the other day and remarked at how much work I did that I 'wasn't qualified for', and would sometimes go 'off into space' ha! Loving all your yarn advents, living vicariously through you xx Question I've been meaning to ask for months, is it Lilia or Lillia
I’m sure you get this question all the time but what is the pattern for the beautiful pink scarf you are wearing in the thumbnail? Thank you for the daily vlog! I always feel so cozy and festive when I watch.

I love your candy cane necklace! So cute and festive! Glad you had a tasty and productive day!
I love cold pizza too! ❤
What a nice vlog , enjoyed watching . See you tomorrow ❤
I use silk fibres with wool a lot when wet felting so you can always give that a go rather than needle felting.
Thank you for your lovely Vlogmas, I so enjoy your spontaneous episodes and just the way you do it, you are a natural!
Dan is so thoughtful with takeaway pizza, delicious 😋
💛💛💛
I am 100% with you on the mince pies!!

We had one growing at our holiday house in Victoria Australia, the birds would come and sing in it all day, so lovely

Brilliant mince pie solution! I don't care for dried fruits, but do love them spiced up and smooth, encased in a sugar-crust. Problem solved! 😘
Another lovely video, its always such a calming start to the day to catch up with you x

I love having left over pizza! However, I can’t have it cold I have to heat it up. I work from home, so it feels like a proper treat heating up 😂
I love your pink scarf. I wish there was a knitting pattern for it. 🤷🏻♀️
Oh yes….me too! Is there not a pattern?
@@Catherine-cv1hj. I think Ali crocheted the scarf. I don’t know how to crochet!
