Great interview. Wife and I have been to Tombstone several times, including this year, or last year depending how you look at it. We went on a month long road trip with Tombstone and Vegas as our turnaround points. We spent 4 days in town, including Christmas Eve. One of the best Christmas Eves ever! Spent it at Big Nose Kate’s, in the company of St. Nick and……the Grinch! It was hilarious! Went to Vegas on Christmas to visit family. Stayed there 4 days, then went BACK to Tombstone for another 4 days including New Years Eve at the Oriental, where we had a blast, even danced with the wife! To say we love Tombstone would be an understatement, the people who live and work in town are as nice and friendly and accepting as I have ever seen. The live and let live attitude reigns over the town. For over 20 years, I drove a truck back and forth across this nation and have never been to a town quite like Tombstone. We are now in the process of trying to move to Tombstone, we’re both retired, and hopefully we can make a contribution to the community. Thank you Tombstone for the many great memories, and the many, many nice people we met there, hopefully next time we meet, we’ll be neighbors.
We completely agree. Tombstone is a breath of fresh air. Ranger Dave and Kalamity Karla just moved to Sierra Vista - 20 minutes from Tombstone. They go once a week and have met many fine folks. We will be there in June for an event, so we can't wait to get back there.
Dusty is a great guy. An interesting fact about his great grandfather, John Escapule, is that people are constantly getting his face tattoo'd on themselves as being Doc Holliday. 😉

That was a classic line in his interview. We had such a great time in Tombstone. Mayor Dusty was a cool cat that has lived an interesting life.
