Hi Nicole, My wife is starting a photo booth business and is about to order the Salsa booth. I had a couple of questions. 1. Is printing photos a popular add-on, or do most people prefer digital prints? 2. Is the audio guest book worth it? has it proven popular? 3. She was thinking of starting off with drop off service; has that been popular in people's homes?
1. This all depends on your area and how you market! For me it’s 50/50, but for some others prints is what their clients want most! 2. Absolutely! 3. Checkout my videos on drop offs. I’d make sure I’d have really great contract, insurance, and clients before doing “at home” drop offs. My preferred client for drop offs are corporate
It sounds like for a first booth of a one-(wo)man-band company, Salsa is the way to go? I think my budget is pushing me in that direction, anyway, but I’m feeling like Salsa is a good entry point, then upgrade to Guac would be the move regardless of budget. I’m likely going to be making a purchase before your comparison video comes out, but I’ll definitely be checking it out.
I'm debating between the Guac and Chips starter package and the Essential package. The Essential package comes with the Atlas backdrop and marble cover, a year supply of app access, and a 2-year warranty. What did you purchase? Or did you go ahead with your own backdrop? Thanks!
I started out with a salsa and did go with an essentials package at that point. If this is your first booth then getting that upfront savings and complete package can be very helpful. Especially for the warranty and year of app access. Alternatively you could purchase a backdrop system from pbbackdrops separately (I have a video on that) and then the extended warranty and year of software too. So it’s really a matter of deciding if you want a complete system now or if you want to piece it altogether on your own!
Hell Nicole. I have a DSLR booth and I use the ipad instead of the camera. I cant seem to get the flash right with the camera and my pics come out all white!!! Any pointers? Question my ipad sits horizontal in my booth and I noticed most sit vertical like yours. Do you think one is better than the other as far as how the ipad sits in the booth?? Also with the hard wired printer i'm assuming you have to take a laptop and provide wifi to the laptop to print ???
Hey! Are you able to adjust your exposure settings or the flash? Adjusting those would be what I recommend. I have my flash at 1/2 and adjust according to the lighting in the venue. Orientation of the iPad shouldn’t matter at all. And nope! I’m able to connect directly to wifi from my booth via the iPad settings. It’s hardwired to the printer and communicates to the printer, and then I can send digital via the venue wifi or hotspot that I bring.

Is the Salsa booth overkill? Should she just get a cheap one off Amazon? She would like a tool less one to make putting it together easy.
The salsa is perfect for drop offs. Checkout my videos on them! It’s what I use! If you’re charging for a service, you definitely need a product that comes with support when the inevitable technical difficulties arise. They have the best support available

Can you use that printer with the salsa booth?
You’ll have to use a dongle to wirelessly connect it but yes, the printer is the same printer I use for my salsa

I start with their recommended settings (flash at half) and adjust as needed based on distance and venue
How do you set up the camera lens? My prints have rainbow like ring just on the sides
