Dude it sucks having to go through Glich'e Gaming's comments. I see NO ONE actually talk about the video, just their nostalgia. What sucks about it even more is how much more care and love are put into his newer videos, you can tell from the editing and even the thumbnails alone.

As someone who's commented on hundreds(possibly thousands) of UA-cam videos, and actually has content and a channel description, I can't help but think what's going on with the millions of people that I've only ever seen on one video. Like, on channels that I read the comments sections of regularly, even. Ones that don't seem to have been on this website in years or even decades.
Especially now with the @ system on UA-cam now, where everyone has their own, even ones who stopped appearing on UA-cam before it was introduced and just have an automated one. I'm lucky to have my @ be the same one I have nearly everywhere else, but I have to wonder if the person who got @BinglesP was someone I would've otherwise never known existed. It'd be like finding out an alternate dimension version of you exists, only to not know anything about them besides their existence, just left with an empty record. Scary.

Your video makes me think again. In recent years, I was talking about a similar topic. To think and understand how much this whole process of generational change and not only UA-camrs is scary. Time and souls invested by people in the things they create, incredible stories happening at every step are simply lost. People don't live forever, everyone will end up where they started. Sometimes people try to keep everything in the archives, save it from oblivion, but who will need it? Many people say if something got into the internet, it is no longer possible to remove it from there. But what sense should it make if it's just no one will find the same information under another pile of information, the Internet is not a repository, it's a sarcophagus in which tons of information are rotting waiting to be opened. and as always the games are good, but no one I haven't completed them. the projects are almost ready but never completed, drawings and music touching the soul but touching only the author, no one will remember those who did it, nor even the very existence of this. people create and trash into a void that will eventually consume everything. And everything will repeat itself, everything that was old will become a new trend, even if no one realizes it. and everything will continue as if at the click of a finger. I know it's stupid, but sometimes I'm scared. And we are living trying to achieve something, when people just miss most of the information because of its quantity. You are a UA-camr, and I am your commentor, revealing my soul to a random person from the Internet. And this is the story and it will remain here. .. What's next? You probably already know.

  • @oakalquine5484

i am a total stranger to this channel up until now. the editing style, combined with not obscuring the names of random commenters had me expecting something totally different, and much more antagonistic. i am glad that i stayed to watch the whole thing, and can see now how significant the detail is to the message of the video. a lot of things you said resonate very deep with me, and the hobby of 'internet people-watching' is something i, and many others share with you. it's like being in a noisy theater where you can look at anyone's business card without them knowing, and the stuff you see, or lack thereof, is a complicated kind of interesting i think you've described well here.
on a certain level, i can relate to seeing things through both lenses. i've certainly never had a fraction of the attention you have, but just getting a couple meme videos to land in quick succession is already one of the most megalomaniacal rushes i can ever remember experiencing. and, i get parasocial, too. for me, though, my dumb ass is always seeing the content creator as a popular friend under a ton of pressure, who needs advice. i'm mainly leaving this comment so that the algorithm favors this upload more - to anyone reading this, that's why youtubers ask you to do that - but i can't help myself from offering wisdom you probably don't need.
the way that you talk about the inevitability of your fame coming to an end, though you aren't complaining about it, sounds filled with a masked dread to me. like an actor making light of a deep seeded fear for the camera. i acknowledge the fact that i'm _completely_ wrong, and that i'm drawing this analysis from a single video. regardless, if there _is_ fear in you for that day that you are only a memory, i can tell you that it's not something to be afraid of. a peace should be made with it in the same way as the end of life, because it is its own death. for worse, but also for better.
please, for the quality of your own life, do a ghost this favor. don't see how long you can make it last. see how much joy you can get from it.
okay, that's enough preaching for one comment

I'm very glad you mentioned old youtubers being talked about as "that one youtuber we used to watch" in their comment sections even when they're still actively making content, sometimes even with greater goals in mind, I always thought it'd be very crappy for your "audience" to completely ignore your output in the comment sections, there's nothing better than comments, they effectively communicate how people enjoy or don't enjoy your content way more than any other stat, so to have that taken away from you sounds rough...

This is actually really interesting and it makes you think a lot about how vast youtube and other media platforms can be. There are probably so many youtube channels that have never been visited or seen by anyone, yet they can have a presence on hundreds of videos. Keep up the great content.

Seeing Lonniedos on screen made me get so much nostalgia, he was a massive inspiration when it came to me wanting a phone back then as a kid and he really is a cool guy, last thing I recall 'bout him is him breaking up with his old ex, and to be honest as a kid I was kinda sad hearing that they broke up. Loved that guys channel.
He was the #1 Mobile UA-camr back then as his personality in my opinion was ahead of it's time, Fred-like character that he protrayed, although now he's quite down to earth and I enjoy it. I remember when he got his iconic "Ducttape Phone to head" profile picture, it was during his first video on about an app that was essentially a brain quizz game, it was paid to download and from what I recall, it was really good quality.
    More lore later lol.

Honestly that was a incredibly interesting insight on parasocial relationships. Without bashing it you realized that everyone at least once has slipped into these behaviors and honestly the nuance of parasocial relationships are a indescribably interesting topic, even as jaded as it is.
I think rushing into popularization and realizing that eventually everyone will be slipping away from it is a calming settlement to a otherwise lonely feeling. But honestly? Even if one does slip away there will always be a collect few that stay with a person in their points of low viewer ship. While forming parasocial relationships to keep this sense of community is not the way to go, forming communities isn't the wrong move either.
You might not personally know everyone in the comments, as I don't know everyone that comments on my art. It doesn't mean you appreciate these people less, it just means when you gather such a large community you really can't, pay attention to them all. and While that's a lonely feeling, realizing that you still appreciate their existence even if you can't give time and care to every single person eases that feeling slightly.
TDLR: the fickle balance between parasocial relationships and community-forming.

As you said, with every rise, there is a peak. With every peak, there is a fall that follows. What matters is making the peak last for a long time and having fun all the way through it. I'm a "viewer" with nothing to my channel except for a join date, but that is due to personal choice. You made the choice to go out and make videos, and I'm honestly very happy with your videos, with the quality getting better and better with each upload that makes me wanna stick around. I wish you nothing but the best, Sournale. Good luck, and stay safe!

great video, recently i have been thinking about ones legacy (both internet and irl) and how its left on this world afterwards. That and also the video connecting to parasocial of internet itself made me think a bit about my past and stuff, idk just really clicked to me
I think legacy is important too but also letting go about something like that is also very important. It is the truth that one day you will be forgotten by everyone. In a way, the internet is a small simulation of life itself.
I think one shouldnt obsess over what will happen after all the legacy and fame disappears, just enjoy the moment while it exists
    atleast thats what I think.

This is such an interesting video lol. In a few ways, channels that slowly succumbed to irrelevence have a similar appeal as abandoned buildings at least to me. It's looking at something where people used to be/ that people used to watch daily and seeing noone there, simply because the times changed and the building/channel didn't catch up.
Also being a ghost of youtube, in the way that I am a simple blank page myself, has a lot of positives itself. I personally never really liked spotlight lol, plus there is a kind of anonymity that is only available in being irrelevant.

While definitely not dead, I fall into that "Ghost Viewer" category.
I do make videos every now and then and I've managed to reach 120 subs, but I treat my channel as a hobby when it comes to content creation. I make videos when I get ideas for them. For example, my last video was a Walking Dead shitpost where I pretend to be Shane and Rick while not even putting on a good ascent. I made the video in less than an hour, including editing and coming up with the rough script/outline. That only got 20 views. Before that I put 3 days of effort into making a GTAV 10th anniversary montage that only got 70. I'm not bummed out at all, rather I'm shocked that 20 and 70 individuals respectively chose to watch my videos long enough for it to count as a view. And the fact that I have 16,000 total channel views is nothing short of a miracle for me.
But regardless, like I said, this channel is just a hobby when it comes to content creation. I created this account in 2015 when I was in 7th grade and for the past 8 year's I've almost exclusively used this channel to watch videos, that's about it. I didn't even start regularly uploading content until I got my first computer right before the Covid lockdowns in March 2020. But this isn't about me. Or is it? The whole point of UA-cam _was_ to "broadcast yourself" so maybe me being a Ghost Viewer adds to that experience more than I think it does. Either way, I'm very thankful to every person who's ever subscribed to me and watched my videos. While I stand no chance of becoming the next PewDiePie, I still take solace in the fact that I'm just ever so bigger than I was one year ago. I'm perfectly content with my role of being an everyday obscure channel and I'm not sweating over whether I become famous or not.

I agree to the thoughts of irrelevance of one's creations and when they die out they can probably never grow again when they had before.
I have no plans for YT as a career but its just there for as a hobby for making art and stories but either ways even with no views or subs it won't affect my life as I already have so much to do and so much to live for, I do hope your channel stays just as a place to seek some knowledge on any subject or form, personally I like your channel so keep up the good work! 👍
